We order a ham, eggs and bread. Bread was from yesterday, straight (not toasted, not buttered, nothing special), ham was warmed and eggs were fine. Croissant could be served warm and with butter. It was cold and straight also (done yesterday). Fortunately plates are small so it was easy to eat these all.

Bad Cheating
I ordered a Leopold Salad. The waiter asked me: . "do I want salad with it? " Since I had ordered a salad, I did not understand his question. I replied that I assumed that in the Leopold salad there was.salad!
When I got the bill this Salad was charged and chicken which i hadn't asked. After protesting this salad was deducted.
I paid and gave a small Tip. I signed for a total of $110 (Photo 1). To my surprise, Kafe leopold charged me 125.9 (picture 2) to Visa. I protested this to Visa.
This is unacceptable; this is theft.
Attention.this is an address to avoid!

Went here for breakfast during a vacation in DC. Had the waffles and they were DELICIOUS! A little on the pricier side, but the portions are reasonable and the food is so great it's definitely worth it. Be sure to swing by if you find yourself in the area!

The food and ambiance was great. It’s in cady’s alley in Georgetown. This Austrian spot is definitely worth trying for brunch but the service was very slow. I’m sure they are understaffed in these hard times so hopefully they’ll be able to staff up soon!

Just perfect. Their menu has something for everyone. Don't let the German names of some items run you off; there are full descriptions of the items on the in-person menu as well. We had a bit of everything (Brunch) a side of scrambled eggs, a side of chicken apple sausage, one egg salad tea sandwich, raisin Danish, the Leopold Salmon omelet entree, an espresso with whipped cream, a mocha and an additional drip coffee service. All were very good. Fresh, well presented and well seasoned. All of this items totaled less than $60 at the time of this review (7/2022).

After ordering, we waited around 30 mins only to realize they never put the orders in for 2 out of 3 people at our table. Ordered from the brunch menu around 3: 35 and then were told at around 4: 11 that they ran out of what I got. The others ordered from the normal menu and that still wasn’t ready around 4: 11 either. Actually, it was never even put in for them to start preparing. We ordered beer and that took 10 mins. 10 whole minutes. No, it wasn’t busy at all. Used to come here a lot but this experience really left a bad taste in my mouth- hardly any appropriate apologies. Even the manager seemed to ignore our gaze and that was just disappointing.

Great food with an even more great waiter. We had a nice corner table outside. Our waiter made sure that our dog is feeling fine and brang him direktly some water. He took care of my husband and me very well and we even became a small treat before we left. Sadly we dont know his name (the guy with the orange mask), but we hope to intercount him at our next visit.
We loved it and come for sure back!

For over 14 years Kafe Leopold was a hidden treasure tucked in caddy'alley a feeling of romantic lover's lane. Very clean, chic unique and we knew the first pastry chef and we also know the current Pastry chef authentic dear pal and a natural creative pastry Wis, one of the best in the DC area and he has done some of my private creations for our events. Yep the pandemic of the past 3 years has changed all our world and it is heart breaking to go to DC and see many area shops & restaurants boarded and George Town has lost its luster. I believe in kindness & empathy and generosity, but if people want high dollars than the least they can do is to learn the language, look clean and follow Health guide lines. There is no doubt in my mind that we fell in love with this place over 14 years ago, the owners need to take note and do something about it. Quality of food and staff is going down, the staff says yes to everything, the European restaurant needs to have the European flare. It is clear te customer base has changed employees are not passionate and some of them are not familiar with hygiene if a employee sweats & carries our food it is unacceptable, I know the old chef is gone the current chef appears clueless, the salmon is canned salmon and horrible. Please understand if this is indeed a Austrian restaurant then teach the people who make coffee to make dry cappuccino not a huge cup of water, English & sign language does not work for people who say "yes" for everything. For us the art of eating is lingering we are not sitting in MacDonalds, & we sometimes order after a regular meal but that concept is lost as employees do not show the passion to serve. I think the leadership of this restaurant needs to do some soul searching & reflection and bring some new changes and addition to the menu, the menus need a face lift with new items. The reception person should greet guests with smile fresh and clean appearance; current work force needs to be trained, they do not have the experience to work in a high end European restaurant. Paul if you are the owner still than I will highly recommend your menus are getting old, the content in the menu is dated, it needs a fresh touch, the employees need re imagining, they are a misfit for this European chic cafe. The cook is no good tasteless food food Dean dulca is gone Paul's have closed doors You should improve & address the issues to sustain your business, I am sad to see the condition of George tow, Laduree boasts elegance, customer service & attention to details Thanks & Good Luck

This is an outstanding restaurant with decadent desserts to tempt any palate. We came for brunch and enjoyed our meal immensely. The wait staff was friendly, helpful and attentive.
I need to come back for dinner to see if the experience is as good as our brunch!

Definitely try a dessert as they ALL look great!

Hidden jam of Georgetown! Highly recommend. Best ambulance, food and Suad was always available for any requests we needed. Thank you the entire team for making our experience amazing. See you next time!

Kafe Leopold is a quality restaurant. It’s modern interior is clean and reminded me of a
High end furniture store.
The food is made with quality ingredients and one can tell that each dish was made with a lot of attention and thought.
The plum pancakes were delicious but took 20 minutes to arrive since they are made fresh to order. The ravioli was very tasty but a bit too oily for my liking.

I highly recommend making a reservation for this place for brunch because i didnt and had to wait 30 minutes as a walk in for a party of 2. So the good thing is that the food is prepared quickly and it is very flavorful. I highly recommend the meditterrean brunch special and the emperor pancakes and lemosas. Street parking available. Total bill with dessert main entrees and drinks was $93. And our server and front of house were very professional. Definitely ill be back for more austrian food.

We had breakfast there and this is far from American. The breakfast I had was their French toast which was good, but wasn’t sweet at all. My husbands poached eggs where good however bland and the avocado toast they must like zest! It was over powering and sadly no avocado taste. They did just scrambled eggs for our gd and definitely cooked in butter, but the kid didn’t complain.

Great menu selection, especially for brunch. This is a nice location away from the busy main street. Indoor dining was clean and comfortable.

We got the Italian Breakfast which has a ton of mushrooms, and the salmon omelet which was delicious. Our coffee and mocha came out piping hot.

Absolutely one of the nicest places to sit down and enjoy breakfast with visiting family. The host was politely able to accommodate our group of 8 with no issues. Our waiter, Jorge, was one of the best servers we've ever had. He was able to answer our questions and deliciously describe the dishes, and doing so with a friendly smile. Six differnt breakfast dishes and they all tasted amazing. Lattes with a side of dark chocolate matched well.
Before we left, a man who I assume was the manager, stopped by with a smile and asked us how we were, which was great.
Thank you Kafe Leopold

Gorgeous little cafe with a charming, cozy outdoor area (I love the fountain) and superb service in a quiet, beautiful part of Georgetown. Great food, good coffee, and a wide selection of classic Austrian desserts and pastries (I tried the esterhazy torte and loved it). I have a feeling this may be my new favorite place to take friends out to brunch on a nice day!

Edit: I have now eaten here several more times, and each time was a wonderful experience. Amazing quiche, and the pastries keep getting better!

What's up my fellow Yelpee's, Googler's and DMV'er's!

The place is hidden in the center of G-town in Cady's Alley with such beautiful surroundings building's and architecture. The moment you walk in there is a receptionist waiting to seat you and then it opens up to a contemporary setting with lovely colors and a cool bar with tasteful cold desserts.

Now down to the food. It was not the greatest! The calamari was probably the one good thing we tasted. We've had better steak and salmon dishes at other places before. The steak was slimy and served slightly cold, and the salmon a bit shabby, and could've been complimented with other or better ingredients.

We do not recommend this place. ‍️

Very inconsiderate front desk host who wanted to put us at a table right near the main walk way with our 70# large dog after I have mentioned that we don’t mind waiting and we have a big dog with us that needs some space to lie down while we dine when checking in. There is zero space for our dog to lie down when the table is ready and even after we expressed our concern, she didn’t care enough to make another arrangement. We ended up leaving the restaurant.

Visited on Memorial Day, 2022. The food here is delicious (try the Belgian Waffles) and you can't beat the piece of dark chocolate that comes with your coffee drink. Service was great despite the shortage of staff on the Holiday, and the interior was modern yet very tasteful.
