DC is one of the best regions for Eritrean and Ethiopian food and local places like this are why. Cheap, filling, and tasty. Don't overthink it folks

Love this restaurant. Great for takeout or eating in. Their large platters are delicious and perfect for groups. Excellent service as well!

This is a great little Eritrean spot in Adams Morgan. I've never tried this cuisine before and really enjoyed the Egg Silsi. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite. Prices are fantastic for the amount of food you get, staff are super friendly, and the environment is very relaxed.

Keren is located in a high-energy neighborhood full of mom-and-pop shops. They operate a very modest space with great food and warm smiles. The food was good. The beef could have been a bit more tender. The injera was great. Soft and tangy. There is 1 lady taking care of the front of house. She did her best but service was kind of slow. But the taste was amazing,!

Great food but sadly we ordered the wrong items since it’s our first time. They put jalapeños slices inside which made my mouth burn BAD and it’s decently priced. The waiter looked unenthusiastic. The good thing is that the service is nice and they returned my charger that I left there:)

What a wonderful surprise on our trip to dc. We were looking for something different and came across Keren restaurant. The food was so good and so different than anything we had before, and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. It was definitely worth the wait and would recommend this for anyone looking for something different but still accessible

The food can only be described as phenomenal, and the staff as exemplary. If you need somewhere to eat in the area, make this the place!

Best Ethiopian restaurant in the city. Everyone is always super friendly, relaxed atmosphere, great prices and excellent food! I keep coming back to this place as they make it feel like home. Would definitely recommend and would come here hungry as portions are quite generous!

Run, don’t walk to Keren! Everything I had was delicious, and there’s still so much left to try. The fish dulet was so flavorful. I would ask for more sides next time. I’ll be coming back and getting the egg silsi next time!

Great spot for family style Ethiopian food. The place is small so it can get a bit crowded.

Authentic delicious Eritrean / Ethiopian food! Everyone who works here is so sweet and it felt super homey. I loved the food I ordered and would be great to share with a few people. The food is extremely affordable and you could easily go here with a 4+ people without worrying about a long wait. Went here for lunch on a week day and the service was fast. Will definitely be back for dinner with some friends!

Amazing flavors and a Michelin star for less than $20? Don't miss this opportunity. I ordered the Keren special and shared it with a friend. It was more than enough for the two of us.

Friendly hostess. Small restaurant. Yet we were able to go with a group of eight people. Nice fresh food.

Look, this is no fine dining restaurant and so you should not expect a fancy interior or “impeccable service. ” this is a homely establishment for ethiopian/eritrean food with
- excellent value for money ($25 is more than enough for two)
- a fun style of eating for something casual
- GOOD FOOD.period.

Keren is one of my favorite restaurants in dc. I personally don't like injera that much BUT the injera here is really good. Most of the time injera tastes sour to me but not here.
Anybody that's visiting dc, I'll take them here because it's such a staple. And their portions are large! Everything in the photo fed 4 people.

Food is good. But what I get on my plate was less than the menu explanations. Menu 1 with beef: they served only salad and spinach. What I see on the same menu was 4 additional side meal.

Amazing restaurant for Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine with large portions and some of the best food in D. C! Very friendly staff who came to check on us up all the time. The restaurant is a little small, so make sure to get there early, but the atmosphere is very cozy and I truly appreciated the experience.

Amazing Eritrean food! It was my first time trying Eritrean cuisine and this restaurant definitely exceeded all expectations. Prices are very reasonable and for two people, one entree was enough to share but we weren’t too hungry to start with. The staff were very friendly! There wasn’t too much seating so we recommend calling ahead or just being patient cause it’s was worth the wait!

YUM! First time trying Ethiopian food and definitely won’t be the last. The combo platter was plenty of food for 2 people with lots of leftovers. Was very pleased to see that the “bread” had a gluten free option too. We came at 7 on a Saturday (party of 2) and had to wait about 15 minutes before being sat, which is totally worth it!
