Larry's Homemade Ice Cream, Washington DC

Stopped in here because it was the only ice cream spot nearby still open at 10: 30pm, and my boyfriend knows I have to have a sweet treat post dinner. Not much more to say then the other reviews are correct, the ice cream is pretty subpar. I got the Oatmeal Cinnamon Cookie Dough and it was fine. Not a lot of flavor and the texture felt more like boxed ice cream. In the end if you need ice cream and nothing else is open I might give it a try, but don't go out of your way.

I have not been here in years. But my wife’s friend is traveling to DC and asked for recommendations so this spot sprang to mind. DC is not a place known for great food but this place sells the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I currently live in a larger city with more ice cream spots than DC but I have not found a place that holds a candle to Larry’s!

Visiting from Colorado and walked by this ice cream shop and had to stop when I seen All Natural. Omg it was so good I got the salted Carmel ice cream!

I don't know what to say. It's an ice cream shop with a wide variety of flavors. Major plus is location, near the metro and dupont circle. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Delicious ice cream with pricing comprable to it's chain competitors. The waffle cones dipped with chocolate and chocolate sprinkles exceeded my expectations because it retained it's form in this 80 degree weather over the course of 15 minutes taking my time eating a double scoop.

Very easy to get to, walking distance from the red line.

Larry ranks among the most skilled ice cream handlers not only in the district but, in my humble opinion, the whole universe. Not sure quite how he does it. But boy does he do it.

Larry’s never disappoints. I especially love their baklava topped with their peanut butter and Reese’s ice cream…so good!

Tried the mango sorbet, was disappointed. Also got the mint chocolate chip which was slightly better but underwhelming

Great, friendly service and ice cream to die for. I forgot the exact names but we loved the oatmeal and the coffee ice cream.

Supporting small businesses is extremely important to me. However this establishment will not be one of them. I came in with someone last night after wanting ice cream. He didn’t want to come here but said it was the closest one. We walked in and the people at the counter were friendly to the previous patrons; however, when we walk up their demanor changed. No smile or anything in fact the woman had the worst attitude I have ever seen. The person I was with was uncomfortable being there but when she returned her attention to the previous guests it was friendly banter. I felt that it had something to do with the fact that I looked nothing like the other patrons. So no I won’t be returning to the place and If I could give it a negative I would but I wanted to detail my experience.

The ice cream was so good. Better than cold stone as far as the taste of the ice cream. Not as many toppings options as cold stone. This is definitely our top pick in this area.

I stopped by for dessert after dinner. I was able to try one sample, I tried the strawberry cheesecake, which I wasn’t a fan of. Instead, I chose the butter pecan in a cup, which I enjoyed. It was the perfect amount of sweet. The baklava was amazing. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by.
