Beautiful property in a great location, but horrendous employees. Jasmine at check in was fantastic, but everyone after that clearly hated their jobs or should not be in customer facing positions. Worse of all, Stephanie, a general manager, refused to take any ownership of any service failures and rather than de-escalate a situation by addressing a frequent traveler’s valid complaints, instead escalated things further by making excuses, talking in circles, and indicating that other customers’ business was more valued (despite working for the world’s largest purchaser of hotel rooms). Also, the gym is large but almost half the cardio machines are out of service, most of the sanitizing wipe containers were empty which raises questions about cleanliness, and importantly for me both Pelotons are missing the levers to adjust their heights and despite multiple calls to the front desk, who claimed maintenance was literally on the way, neither was fixed during a four day, three night stay. Almost checked out a day early based on my interactions with Stephanie and her staff. There are so many great options in downtown DC that have happy employees, so I would avoid this one like the plague. From a titanium member.

This hotel is big. For a big conference at the convention center there maybe long line to get to the reservation desk. If you try the mobile key they say it may take an hour or more. The rooms are nice and what you would except from a Marriott Marquis. The concierge lounge is large and their is a good desert selection. Sorry, we missed the happy hour but I am sure it was good based on the desert selection.
There is a tunnel in between the hotel and the convention center. Makes it super easy.
One thing to note, the valet parking is $60/night.

Outstanding hotel and location in D. C. Excellent accomodations and staff along with all the best bells and whistles. If in the District a great place to stay with super easy access to Metro and local restaurants. Absolutely worth a look.

This is a great property in a great location, however despite having reservations weeks in advance, and utilizing the Bonvoy app to manage my reservation, including checking in several hours prior to my arrival, the last two occasions I stayed here, my reserved room type was not available for me. No explanation, no accommodation, no upgrade, no consideration. Nothing. “No King beds available. Only doubles. Nothing we can do”. What is the purpose of a reservation if not to reserve the type room you desire.

Without a doubt, structurally it is a great hotel. Spacious rooms, well maintained, clean, everything in good order. With your coffee maker for those who like coffee, iron, safe, etc. A very good location, with everything nearby in the surrounding area. The staff is attentive and very friendly. The experience was very good except for the wifi situation, two days with a zero signal which I think that for a hotel of these characteristics it should have this facility included.

Location of hotel and rooms are good but service sub par. Stayed here while my company hosted a conference here. Was in meetings all day and came back to my room to find someone stole many items out of my room. The door was not broken, and by what the insurance claims person told me, someone used a device to pull the latch from the inside by slipping it under the door. My room was in the middle of the floor and the only way someone knew I had items worth taking in my room was from the house cleaning telling someone. Definitely an inside job. Marriotts insurance adjuster said hes seen this happen quite a bit across a number of properties recently.

The hotel said they weren’t liable because the door lock functioned fine. Months of arguing with the local hotel and corporate resulted in zero actions done. Was assured by corporate they would escalate and make right but never did.

I’m a Hilton guy now, will not stay at another Marriott hotel ever.

TLDR: if you like your things stolen out of your room, stay here. Otherwise avoid like the plague.

Notified via email at 2pm (while in the air flying to DC) that my room reservation was cancelled.
There for work, missed pieces of conference due to added travel time from new hotel. Given $50 for Ubers (it cost me $45 one way the first night to get to a new hotel). Terrible experience.

It is a clean and refreshing hotel. Prices are high. The location is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and quiet.

Although pricey it is so conveniently located that it's worth it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Shower was strong and hearty. Room service food options are limited. But the food we ordered was surprisingly tasty. Valet service is great. Be forewarned. It now costs $65 per day.

Good experience. Nice hotel and area. Very helpful staff. Was concerned after other reviews but we had a good stay for our work team. Rooms clean and updated. AC not working so well no matter what temp set. Decent food at restaurant too. Roof top bar not bad. Would stay again!

The head of security is a gem. He and his right hand lead a group of professionals that will ensure you have a safe and pleasant time. Hotel is A-1 and the private lounge on the 12th floor is special

I stayed here for a CBC political convention. The hotel is very close to the convention center and has many restaurants & bars located only steps away. Plenty of taxis, ubers, and a metro stop nearby.

The facilities and rooms are dated but well-tended, spacious and clean. My bed was comfortable and provided a great night's rest. The lobby cafe & bar scene can be quite interesting.

I would caution people to be prepared for the likelihood of a slow check in process. The hotel is a destination for the conference activity of multiple events. There are constant surges of incoming guests that overwhelm an often understaffed front desk.

It took about 30 minutes of waiting in line before I made it to a desk agent. By then, I was upset and in discomfort from mobility issues. I was helped by Justine who got me into a good room.

This was the only downside of a four day visit - everything ran smoothly after that. So folks, the moral of the story is that once you get past the check-in conundrum the rest of the stay should be a joy.

As a platinum elite member my gf and I really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Marriott Marquis. At first we were skeptical because of how busy the hotel looked because there was a large convention with so many people checking in and coming into the valet entrance. However the valets were very quick and attentive despite the chaos of numerous guests coming to the hotel, DC traffic, and bad weather. When my gf and I got to the front desk there was nobody at the Platinum desk when we arrived however the gentlemen working with other customer did come over to assist us in about 5 min and it was nice that our room was ready at 2pm instead of the normal 4pm. The room was very clean and bed extremely comfortable. When we came back later that evening we enjoyed some really good drinks at the Dignitary bar and service was adequate. In our checkout morning we were able to confirm late checkout from Milena at the front desk via chat who was nice enough to allow us to checkout late at 2 pm and still have access to the M lounge. As a frequent exerciser the gym was awesome because it very expansive and well-equipped. Gym staff was also very attentive and friendly, We want give special thanks to Milena and all the staff at the Marriott Marquis and we are excited to stay there the next time we come to DC. I only complaints are that the hotel valet entrance is small and is on such a congested street which makes it difficult to bring in your car or get a ride. However, I know that can’t really be changed and that the valets were very good at organizing the chaos. The eggs were runny in the M Lounge but the other food was very good and staff very attentive.

Maybe you don't get booked on the 4th floor in the Washington building, it's right above the gym and it's noisy. This is especially not enjoyable first thing in the morning when you're trying to sleep and you hear what sounds like people dropping weights or whatever.

Thing I find in room when I arrive:

Stains on bed
Hairs on floor
Finger nail on floor
Stains in seat

It’s a fine hotel. The atrium side can be a bit noisy especially if there’s a conference. The rooms are fine but nothing to write home about. The location is nice and central.

Too expensive, dirty, hidden fees
Parking is 65 per night, anywhere else is below 55
You need to pickup whatever you order for roomservice unless you want to pay an extra 6 usd.
The initial booking for 2 night was around 540 but we ended up paying around 690 usd.

Peeled headboards and walls, teared curtains, with stains, blood on the walls in the bathroom and smelly shower.
Almost no shower gel and shampoo.on the wall for 350 per night: D
And only one small bottle of body lotion for 2 persons
The cheapest toilet paper
Breakfast is a la carte with no healthy options
You are forced to spend a 25 usd credit per day in the hotel's restaurant
Reception was a mess. 10 persons in a queue, no one explained how breakfast and roomservice work
Checking out took 30 mins - they charged us extra and had to check with the breakfast restaurant
Not the first marriott but for sure will be the last
