I had found a great doctor at Georgetown Hospital, and its impossible to get through his nurses, they do not return the calls, they cannot see you, even if you are trying to get a follow up meeting after spending hours in the ER at Georgetown. The first appointment available for an already patient is two months. Ridiculous. Dr. Jenning office is crazy and he is such a good person, but clearly to busy.

Came to this ER two days in the row for asthma complications and severe back pain. Waited for 6+ hours each time, to just have my vitals taken and to be given zero treatment for my ailments and sent on my way with instructions to see my primary care provider. Nothing was given for the pain and absolutely nothing was given to help my breathing. Outside of that purely exhausting experience I can say that all of the staff were really kind and polite.

DO NOT COME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT GEORGETOWN. It took our relative over 5 hours to see someone after major back surgery. She sat there in torture for hours with nothing to eat or drink. Repeat, avoid this at all costs

I want to speak to whoever run the whole hospital. The doctor emailed my mother through the patient portal and around 7: 30am this morning through the portal the doctor contacted my mother to make her aware that her number was no longer in the system. This is a form of neglect and harassment. June of 2022 my mother almost died because they refused her care so much so that she needed 4 blood transfusions. This is beyond a lawsuit like seriously! It’s incompetency and unethical practice and it’s seems to be a norm for her as an African American women. How can you explain calling security to escort vs her being transported properly and safely out the hospital after a major surgery? It’s traumatizing and unfair and causing distress on her as she’s trying to heal as well her children. I’m just trying to understand why security was called to escort her out the building after surgery as if she was a threat or something needless to say why wasn’t she transported in a wheel chair and why was security told that they wanted her off the property? That’s unfair treatment and anything could have happened! I need to speak directly to whoever run the hospital at this point.

My comment only relates to the parking staff at this hospital and I’ve already filled out the comment form on your website.

They are VERY rude. Lots of aggressive pointing and exasperation directed towards those parking but for no apparent reason. And then when attempting to speak, they completely ignored us.

We can handle it, no problem. But I think they need to realize that some people coming here are on edge and scared and that kind of behavior at the onset is terribly off putting and just uncalled for.

They need to do better. And the hospital should be aware of this and see what can be done to improve the overall patient experience.

Have really liked the staff at the Georgetown GYN offices but now that I am pregnant I am disappointed they don't offer virtual or in-person viewings of the Labor & Delivery area. Not sure I will stay a customer.

I should have went to urgent care…. Not only do I feel tricked by the nurses into staying they were so dismissive left me in ER my blood pressure abnormally high head is throbbing no one check on me at all I asked to talk to the nurse the admin took her 45 mins to notify her despite the nurses doing nothing at the time but talking to each. I fact that I will never go back to this place and will switch back to GW. People find somewhere else to go people because you will be in ER damn near dead waiting to be seen.

Impossible to schedule appointments. For my relevant department, the phone menu sends you in an infinite loop.

This was a horrible experience! My mother had a major surgery and wasn't notified when she was in recovery after contacting and having to locate where she was. After finally getting to the hospital was not given the option but the only option that was given was for us to leave and wait until someone to call to pick her up. We never received a call and wasn't able to wait in the waiting area. Moreover, right after being down for hours in surgery they discharged her escorting her out as she had to walk with security vs a nurse to the uber as she had to walk out the hospital vs being transported after surgery. Security went into a room and left her unattended as he went into an office and never returned so she had to knock on the door where he was and no one answered. Anything could have happened! But thank God she made it home safe and is now recovering. If you are African American do not go to this hospital.

Their Patient Advocacy should be called Doctor/Hospital Advocacy. Every issue is put back onto the patient just like others have stated in their reviews. The Doctors, Hospital and Patient Advocacy take no responsibility for any of their serious problems or issues.

The Head and Neck Radiation Oncology team, is one single doctor and a nurse who are completely overwhelmed by their job and have zero compassion for their cancer patients. They constantly miss appointments and are unavailable via patient portal, phone or email. You have to jump through hoops to get appropriate medications and treatments. God forbid you ask any questions about your treatments.the conversation will be shut down immediately with an arrogance and intolerance I've never experienced from a doctor before. This review doesn't have the bandwidth for me to write all the mistakes and misinformation I was subjected to. I finished my radiation treatments a couple days early just to switch to Johns Hopkins. Best decision I've ever made.

Normally this is my go to Hospital because I've had great experiences with the team there. I suffer from a skin disease that has no cure. I'm in stage 3 which is very painful. I've had over 3 surgeries here along with several minor procedures and I've always loved the team to gets me feeling better. I just moved back to DC and was so excited to return here because I've been without a great surgery team for two and 1/2 years. I only trust GW's team to handle my care. Unfortunately I came into the Emergency room with really high hopes with ending results like normal, but to my surprise I was left being discharged in tears, depressed, and with low hopes of surviving my illness. The surgery team looked me in my face and told me there was nothing they could do for. Did NOT even drain my areas or give me solutions as of what could be done. They kept send in phychiatrist instead of doctors to address my reason for being there. I now know that they want me to either die or to be in a mental facility because of course they get paid from that. I no longer trust this hospital and mad I've spoken so highly of them even to other hospitals who didn't know how to handle my condition. I will now take a natural route and will avoid all hospital's and doctors. As much as I pay in health insurance you would think they would be here to help. They aren't. Well they are here to help ONLY a certain culture. I never like to say things like that but it was clear and a smack in my face. They damn sure is willing to do the lady who was placed in a room near me with NO insurance who has to get her shoulder fixed. Yeah they were loud enough for everyone to hear. Dr SEBI was right about all places like this. I pray that if I die, they don't even get the benefit of having my body in their mourge. Praying for my natural healing and I will take the chance of cutting it myself. Thank you GW for showing me I've been advocating for the wrong hospital my entire life. Sad but true. Dr. Anita McSwain, Dr. Lynn and Dr. Bruce Able are the best. You don't deserve to have them working for you'll. Dr. Elizabeth Blum is great and you'll don't deserve to have her working for you'll either. If they ever work elsewhere I'm definitely going, but until then I'd rather tisk dying before I return to anything with GW's name on it. I pray I live to see 2024 Natural healing from here on out. Very disturbing and disappointed.

Georgetown hospital has repeatedly been biased towards African American patients! My love one has encountered poor Treatment on countless occasions! I’m terribly disappointed that this hospital continues to not provide decent treatment to vulnerable patients! This breaks my heart!
