Metroderm DC: Medical, Laser, and Aesthetic Dermatology Center

I’ve had such a nice experience with Dr. Stolar. He is such a great dermatologist with experience and knowledgeable too. He really listened to me and doesn’t overcharge for treatments just to keep me coming back. I’ve been to a couple different places to get TCA cross and the dermatologist would charge so much to treat a small area and wouldn’t even treat all the acne scarred spots for such an expensive price. Whereas Dr. Stolar, treated the entire area thoroughly and didn’t charge as much compared to the other dermatologist (ex: Sherber and Rad). I appreciate his honesty, skills and willingness to help me improve my skin. I will always be coming back to this office if I need anything for my skin in the future. I feel comfortable knowing I am being taken care of well.

First time here getting a milia removed and could not have had a better experience. Dr Gonzalez was efficient in the removal and gave me tips on preventing them in the future.

I had a wonderful experience at metroderm. Dr. Stoler was a breath of fresh air from previous dermatologist experiences. He came in with a warm smile and patiently took his time with me to hear my concerns. The receptionists were also very friendly and efficient. I didn’t wait long at all to be seen. I’ll definitely be back for all my derm needs!

Dr. Perkins is an outstanding physician. My husband and I have gotten outstanding care from him for many years. They recently moved across the street, and the new office is really nice.

Unfortunately, the front office in his practice is rude, disorganized and chaotic. It's been that way for years, but has really become an acute problem lately, to the point of interfering with the standard of care. If you need expert medical care, it might be worth it to brave the administrative staff to get to see Dr. Perkins. If you have routine or aesthetic dermatology needs, look elsewhere.

I ended my patient relationship with this practice due solely to the horrible treatment by the front desk staff. Dr. Stolar is five stars- such a great Derm! I had been seeing him for both medical and cosmetic procedures. However, I decided I would no longer be disrespected by the receptionist. She is unbelievably rude, and isn’t skilled in her position. She is this way in office as well. Each and every time I have attempted to make contact with Dr. Stolar’s office since I became a patient it has been a struggle. I don’t understand the rationale for making someone so unpleasant the face of your practice. I decided that at $2100 each time I walk in the building for cosmetic services, that I would just take my business elsewhere. I am very sad to lose Dr. Stolar as my physician, but the woman representing this office is not someone I will deal with EVER again. Again, this review has nothing to do with the skill of Dr. Stolar. I hope her supervisor will provide her some coaching because beyond the cosmetic, Dr. Stolar is a medical Derm to patients and it is difficult to find a great Dermatologist that is able to meet your needs.

I would like to make it clear that this review is solely for the FRONT DESK! Dr. Stolar is absolutely phenomenal and if it wasn't for the rudeness, unprofessionalism and complete irresponsible behavior of the front desk staff I would resume my treatment with Dr. Stolar. No matter how good the medical professionals are here, STAY AWAY! You will be yelled at, humiliated and get 0 support for any ongoing issues that you may be having. Save yourself some time and skip this place.

Would love to make an appointment but have called multiple times in the last 2 weeks and every time get put to voicemail or get put on hold and then they hang up. I also left a voicemail but no luck. Not going to keep trying.

Dr Perkins is awesome. But the rest of the staff is the best. Plus in a town where I've waited up to an hour to see the Dr. I'm always in to see the doctor right at my appointment time.

I have such mix feelings about this place. The medical professionals were knowledgeable, but the office staff was dreadful. I walked in to a patient getting full on lectured about the cancellation policy by an office manager and it was so harsh it made me want to leave. The rest of the front desk staff were rude and short from start to finish. I do need to go back, but will likely only do a few more visits and work on finding a new clinic. I left their office feeling really stressed and have a skin issue that is made worse when stressed so it seems like it will not be a great place for me. Hope that make some major changes soon.

I canceled my appointment, I was told that I have to paid a $100 dollar if I want to reschedule it again.

Didn't even get to see Dr. Perkins. Made an appointment with this office for the first time / initial consultation. Tried calling the front desk to reschedule my appointment the morning of my appointment because I woke up sick with symptoms. Called at least six times before I finally left a voicemail. I get a call 15 minutes after my appointment time asking where I am. Told the person on the phone that I left a voicemail after calling so many times. She was unaware of my voicemail, and interrogated me about when I left it. She got defensive, telling me the front desk has 4 persons who have been regularly answering all calls and that I must have called "the wrong number". She also told me they provided me reminders, and I told her that I never received any reminders. She then proceeded to tell me I will be charged a $50 no-show fee. I asked her if she can please reschedule without the no-show fee as a one-time courtesy, because I was unaware of their policy and because I got unexpectedly sick. I am a first time patient and no one told me of this policy upon scheduling my initial appointment. I even offered to go to the office later that day at any open appointment despite being sick and potentially putting others at risk of catching what I have. She told me there's nothing she can do for me. Even when I tried to call back several times after to discuss further, I still got no answer. So this assertion that the front desk staff has 4 people manning the phones at all times seems rather suspicious.

Even if this office has good dermatologists, there are other dermatologists in the DMV area. Not worth the rude front desk staff and the inflexible office policy that they fail to inform you of as a new patient. My fiancé recommended this office and Dr. Perkins to me. But after this experience, neither my fiancé or I will be going to this office again.
