A palace full of art, fountains, sculptures. It's huge, you can spend hours and not finish, when we went there were two rooms without access but we still couldn't finish watching it

The National Gallery has two pieces of artwork by African-American artists on display. One by Aaron Douglass and one by Faith Ringgold.
Can a National Gallery, effectively meant to represent the best of our country reasonably not display art from large swaths of its population?
Look, I love the Hudson School, and Eakins and Morse demonstrate immense talent. But a National Gallery should represent "the nation".
