Excellent food experience, excellent service but in special with Mrs Tatiana (Tati). She made us feel special.

Wowwwww… wonderful experience. The ambiance is very sexy, with low lights and beautiful decor. My wife and I visited for happy hour on a Tuesday and this spot did not miss a beat. The small plates and sushi roTens fresh and deli favorite roll was the snow king roll which included a truffle aioli. Mind blowing experience! I had the flounders flight, with an array of Japanese whiskeys and my wife had the sugar and spice cocktail and we were thoroughly satisfied with the portions and quality. Lastly, the customer service made the entire date worthwhile. We sat at the bar and had John as our bartender/waiter and he’s the absolute best. 10/10

I've been to the O-Ku here in DC and in Charleston, SC and both deliver a quality sushi experience. The happy hour prices at the DC location blew me away. Sushi rolls and specialty cocktails for around $8. The yellowtail serrano is incredible and the salmon usuzukuri is a game changer. Highly recommend!

O-Ku was such a luxurious experience. It was elevated dining in D. C! Our server was Emily and she was FANTASTIC. She was so knowledgeable about drinks and food. She made perfect recommendations for our taste, she even offered citrus for our water without us asking! I had this amazing Mezcal cocktail and I am still thinking about it. The truffle salmon dish was delightful. I will tell everyone to go to O-Ku!

Loved the service, the sashimi and the atmosphere! I just didn't like it very much because they don't have a handroll! Then I left there and went looking for another restaurant that sold handroll!

Great happy hour spot! Enjoyed the drinks and sushi. Not impressed with the fried shrimp appetizer.

Don’t waste your time and money.

Too much to say… To start, the service was horrific- truly, and utterly the worst outside of a Burger King drive through. We arrived and the hostess was immediately rude. Then they were 1 hour (literally) late for our 8 pm reservation. They offered us a cocktail menu at 8: 30, after we waited at the bar for 30 minutes. We thought the cocktail was an apology on the house until they chased us down for the bill 3 separate times (also literally), while we were still eating dinner (apparently unable to add it to the dinner bill without interrupting our dinner, much less comp us).

When they finally seated us after a hour, we got upstairs to the dining room and half the tables were inexplicably empty. We sat down and waited another 30 minutes for an introduction from the waitress. In that time we started looking on OpenTable for other options. When the waitress finally arrived, we expressed our frustrations and she assured us things would turn around. They didn’t. I could go on for days, but short story is: we eat at great restaurants in DC every weekend. Here, the food and decor are good, but that’s not worth the $1,000+ bill for the 6 of us. They need to do much better, or completely reevaluate their cost and offerings. Until that happens, go to Nama-Ko and enjoy yourself. ** I don’t work for or have any connection to Nama-Ko (other than enjoying the experience)

O-Ku is one of my favorite spots! They've got a great menu and great cocktails. Always such friendly and engaged staff. They've got a blend of creative and traditional sushi and other amazing bites.

Disappointing experience. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally gave it a shot during restaurant week only to find a cold restaurant with colder service. Our server (was the bartender) and he seem way more interested in bringing non stop entrees to what looked like a private party at the bar whilst we waited almost 40 mins for the rolls we ordered. Bathroom was dirty. Has to ask serval times for napkins. Drinks and sushi were good but the Hamilton is better and it didn’t out weigh the wait and service. Restaurant week menu was slim pickings without any choice to substitute. High tops were small and comfortable. And again I’m sure the heat was not on in 30 degree weather. Also noted in our reservation that it was my friends birthday and nothing was done. I was so upset with the service I forgot to mention it to the server (not like he would’ve cared.). Won’t be back.

This app needs a half star as this is definitely a 4.5 star establishment.

The ambiance is definitely 5 star, panty dropping. The lighting, asthmatics, ambiance and even scent/smell is unique, enticing and pleasant.

The drinks are 5 star. "A peso for your thoughts" is exquisite.

The food was 4 star. Wasn't bad. Wasn't call your mom and extoll on how great it was.

Definitely a date spot if you lack game and need a solid home court advantage.

Good place to grab sushi and some unique dishes; however, it is pricier for small portion sizes. I would recommend coming from 5-7 to enjoy the Happy Hour sushi rolls.

Their cocktails are one of the specialities and are quite strong. For an old-fashioned, they have Co-Co-Q'Shiki. But a fun cocktail is a Ryukyu Robin. Their most popular is the Sugar & Spice.

For sushi rolls, we tried the Surf n Turf with Wagyu beef and it doesn't disappoint. It is quite well done. We also got a spicy sushi roll called the Firecracker that wasn't as spicy as I had hoped.

The highlight of the meal was the Okinawa Style Pork Belly, which was delicious. I wouldn't recommend the Hawaiian Poke as the portion size was quite small.

First, I’ll start off by saying that this is a 4.5 review but I rounded up because of the excellent service.

Ambiance Pros: Very dim light and intimate. From the outside, it seems like such a small space but once you get in, its well beautiful and has great decor. We sat upstairs

The cons: Its incredibly cold in the restaurant, not sure if it was because we were directly under the vent but very cold

Server: Sarah! She was amazing and let us know that although she was new, she had tried everything on the menu so she had great recommendations

Food and drinks: The sushi was amazing and the drinks were great as well! (I had the crunchy pawn sushi, sugar and spice drink, salmon sashimi, hanger steak skewers, and donuts for dessert).

The steak portion was small but it tasted great.

Service: When booking the reservation, I had mentioned I was celebrating a special someones birthday and they went above and beyond! Not only did they give us Champagne, they gave us some cake and a birthday card that was signed by some of the staff. It was the sweetest thing ever!

We had such a great time and I’ll definitely be back!

Went there to celebrate a birthday and we were treated very well, the salmon truffled nigiri was one of the best I’ve ever had, highly recommended!
