2nd tallest building in the Capitol and really great views. Worth seeing and no wait either!

As a USPS fan, I enjoyed this gem of a museum. They have some interesting pictures highlighting the old post office’s significance on Pennsylvania Ave. You also get a glimpse into the original building and clock tower, now a hotel.

Quick visit to the 2nd tallest building in the capital. Beautiful view. You have to take a class to ring the. I might take the class to ring the bell. Friendly, informative and helpful staff.

Very nice view of DC. The fresh air is nice to enjoy from the top as well. Seeing the machine that controls the 4 big clocks is a nice experience and very interesting facts that you can learn when you there.

It was cool. Info was very interesting. View at the top is obstructed by these wires. But overall it is cool and free.

The Old Post Office Tower offers impressive views of the National Mall, from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, and beyond. To access the tower, you should use the entrance at the back of the building and not the hotel entrance!

Be warned, the number of visitors allowed up the tower at any time is limited (25?), so the wait might be considerable when it's busy. Also, the viewing platform is open on three sides, so it gets cold in winter.

Amazing place, worth stopping by and checking it out. It is used to be a Trump Hotel, now it is a W/A hotel.

I was staying at Waldorf Astoria in DC and one of staff told me about this place. I was so happy to listen to her and went this beautiful museum where has fantastic view of DC. This is free museum so check it out! The hotel you see inside of the elevator is the Waldorf Astoria Hotel which was Trump International Hotel before.

I love this small museum! It is the third tallest building in Washington DC and we got a nice view of the whole city at the top of the tower. The staffs are friendly, this site should gain more popularity!

An interesting little museum and a great place to get a panoramic view of the city. The perfect place for visitors to get oriented and see where all the landmarks are located. I'm uncomfortable with heights and had no problem. Definitely worth a visit.

Reopened after the dump hotel packed up and left. The park rangers who work here are very friendly and full of information. Lots of fun facts. Really great views. So glad this gem has reopened.

For one of the best views of Washington, D. C, head to the Old Post Office Museum and Tower any day from 9 a.m. To 4 p.m. Run by the National Park Service, admission is free. You’ll walk through a hall with a tiny exhibit about the history of the 1899 old main post office before taking two wheelchair and stroller accessible elevators to the 270-foot observation deck where you can see incredible views of D. C. ’s landmarks. Park along Constitution or Madison Drive or take the nearby Federal Triangle Metro.

Beautiful view of DC and wonderful Ranger staff. Just difficult to find the entrance to. It's nestled on the side of the now-Waldorf Astoria (previously Trump Hotel) and the elevator actually overlooks that stunning lobby.

Kinda on the smaller side but the material is good and mostly up to date. It’s always pretty empty and the views are really nice

One of the best views in town. Entrance is from the back of the building by Starbucks, directly across from the Metro elevator on 12th Street. There is an exhibit on the lowest level telling you about preservation in Washington, DC. The first level you exit for the tower is the bell ringing floor and there is some information there to look at but you mostly have to ask the Ranger to tell you. The topmost level is the viewpoint. 360° open air on two sides but contained with bars. Signs tell you what you are viewing. In the winter, around the Solstice you can watch the sun set. Note: the viewing platform closes at 5 but last entrance to tower is at 4: 30, though you may be able to view the preservation exhibit at this time.

The views from the Clock Tower are worth the stop! Elevator is located by Starbucks on the backside of the Trump hotel, or you can cut through the hotel bar to see the original Post Office steel beams arching overhead. Great way to take a break after exploring the National Mall.
