Where do I start if I could give negative 1 star I would no good customer service at all. They told me to come I left work to be sitting! Then the lady going to have the never to tell me I’m not going to rush but I didn’t ask her to rush anybody hair I was just sitting there patiently! But I will never go back

Ouley's is my go to place for crochet braids. I moved recently and was going to find a new place nearby, but the prices weren't as reasonable as Ouley's so I'm making the commute to get my hair done. The salon was renovated recently and it looks really nice. I've gotten my hair done by someone different every time, and I'm always happy with how my hair comes out. They're fast too. Last time, I was out in an hour.

If you're going to get your hair done, I recommend making an appointment for early in the morning. The one time I tried to come at like 10: 30, I had to wait 2 hours to get into a chair.

Let me start by saying I've been a customer of this establishment for over 2 years and today will be my last visit. I made an appointment for my daughter to have her hair braided Saturday at 10am. I sent numerous communications explaining the style expectation and even provided a picture. The shop confirmed they could execute the style. The stylist who first attempted to braid my daughter didn't inform me she couldn't properly execute the style and free-styled something totally different than the picture. The cornrows were much larger and not neat. If im paying $100+ for a child's style I expect it to be what I requested. My daughter is 6 years old and as most parents understand a small child's attention span is not conducive for sitting more than 2-3 hrs at a time. I had to then wait an additional hour or so for the next stylist to be available to recreate the style I wanted. I EVEN HAD TO LEAVE TO GET FOOD BECAUSE THE TIME WASTED. Having to watch my daughter cry because she's uncomfortable and been sitting in a chair for almost 6hrs due to the unprofessionalism and lack of respect for my time is beyond unacceptable.

Do NOT go to this place. My father went to this place to get his hair done. He got his hair dyed prior to getting his hair braided. He was told that the dye was natural. The next day he broke out all around his hairline and on his neck. This has NEVER happened to him before. It must have been the dye, or this place doesn't clean their hair tools after using them on each customer. Either way, it's unprofessional and not okay. The hairstylist was tipped $20. From the other bad reviews you can see that this place is unprofessional. DC is flooded with decent salons, save yourself the headache and go to one of those. We most definitely will NOT be back.

To Naja who left a review before mine, it was my father that you spoke with yesterday. He also said that they did not do his hair according to the picture that he showed.

UPDATE: My father just returned from the hospital, and it turned out that they DID use dye with chemicals, and that was the reasoning for my father's allergic reaction. Given that people can have allergies, why lie and say that the dye was organic when it wasn't? Apparently getting money is more important than a customer's safety. I repeat, DO NOT COME HERE.

I went I last Friday at 9am for micros and was out by 3. I've been getting so many compliments on my hair. The peaceful uplifting environment will have you so relaxed. This is my new braiding gallery and Julia is my new raider! Thanks Ouley for having wonderful employees! And shout out to Julia you're the best!

I love patronizing Black owned businesses. Excellent Customer service for My waxing with Lexi and getting my hair braided with the stylist! Satisfied!

If I could give a zero I would. I went here several years ago and I was not satisfied approximately one week after getting my hair done my braids started coming out. I called and returned to the shop only to be told there was nothing they could do. Fast forward to 1-14-2022 I took my granddaughter to get her hair done. About a week to a week in a half her braids started falling out due to faulty/incorrect installation. I called on 2-1-2022 hoping they would fix it only to be told there was nothing they could do. I was already skeptical about going. The place is very dirty especially the seating they are not disinfecting. They are very loud unprofessional people. People assume that because these women can do braids because of their nationality. I will never ever return to this dump and will definitely not encourage anyone to do so either. Oh I forgot to say how unsafe it is over there. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I'm on the job computer and can't access my pictures. Plus I saved the hair. DO BETTER OULEY

I just Love Ouley and All the ladies that work there. I have been going to Ouleys since she opened her doors just about 18yrs ago. I just can't see myself getting my hair braided some where else I just wouldn't feel right like I'm cheating on them lol. I got some of my sister's and nieces and even my coworkers hooked on getting their hair done at Ouleys. They are the best at what they do. They are friendly and very welcoming and make you feel like a million bucks after they have done your hair.if I could I would give them a 1000 star review. I just got my hair done 3/13/2022 in some Knotless braids and they lady who did my hair got me in and out in no time and got my hair looking so good! Thank you again.

The owner ouley was very unprofessional! Arguing in front of customers with fellow co workers. She also keeps changing the prices. I’ve gotten my hair done a few times the price was the same. This past Saturday 1/22/22 she raised the price. When I showed her proof via cash app what i paid, she disregarded me and proceeded to argue about it. Very unprofessional and her establishment is dirty. I saw some rats scurrying across the floor. I would not recommend anyone to waste their time with lady.

If I could give 0 stars I should've. The first two times, I got my hair done- the same style twice by two different people. My third time, she tried to raise the price by $30. I said no and told her what I paid before. We agreed on the price and the size. After my hair was finished I looked in the back and realized that it was a lot bigger than what we agreed on. And at the end she upped the price by $10. I am completely unsatisfied. And as the cake on top, the hairdresser pulled and pulled my hair, even after I told her multiple times she was pulling it too hard. I will not be returning and wasting my money. I have to take my hair out and now pay someone else to do it correctly.

So I called to see how much it would cost for fox locs and she said 180. Now I said okay what if I bring my own hair she said it’s 180 still cause we don’t provide that hair.now that don’t even make sense.why would I still pay 180 and your not even providing hair. If I hadn’t said I was bringing my own hair than when I got there what hair will you be using then? It don’t add up, they prices never add up it’s just weird and I wish I could find a better shop with better prices.

Very professional environment and warmth vibe. The stylist did my daughter's hair awesome- with great price.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I called and scheduled an appointment for 3pm on a Saturday (June 5). I arrived on time but I did not get my hair done until 6pm! I had to ask them several times who is doing my hair. The owner called the lady that told me to come in at 3pm. Not only did she not answer the phone, she did not show up. She told me that she was the only one that knew how to do stitch braids. So the owner then tells me that she can call her sister she will arrive at 4: 30pm. The owners sister did not show up until 6pm. So her sister starts my hair. She did not use much gel, she did not add hair to the tiny cornrows in between the big cornrows, and she did not know how to do stitch braids. I left the shop at 9pm! I also ask for a discount she told me I could get it for 120. I wanted to leave but it was my bday weekend and I had places to go. These people are only worried about their payment rather then customer service. They are very unprofessional. I will never go back to this place! DO NOT GO HERE! It's only two days later and my hair is already frizzy! I will be taken this hot mess out of my head this weekend.

I called in for an appointment, boom appointment time confirmed so I arrive two minutes early for my hair appointment I asked to be seated ten minutes in I’m asked for a photo of the hairstyle I want asked to be seated again. I’m seated for a whole hour yet no service I rate this salon ghetto and unprofessional just be honest with the customers ahead of time I could’ve came when a stylist was available. This is really horrific service.

I’ve been coming here since my kid was in the 5th grade, she is now 25. I love coming here. Julia is one of the best. She talks a lot of junk lol but it’s all in fun and she speaks her mind. She might seem hard on a person but honestly she’s one of the nicest people in there that will take care of your hair and give you a bomb style. Everyone else is great as well. For the reviews that speak bad about Julia. She’s really not bad sorry y’all had a bad experience she does my hair my kids hair and my sisters hair. She’s awesome
