Just returned from 8 nights here. Not a great start as the loft studio in the old mansion was not suitable at all and we asked to be relocated. The next morning after we returned from breakfast, London on reception asked us to get our luggage and gave us key cards for a another appt in the tower block. We were apprehensive but she told us it would suit us 100%, and it most certainly did. Modern, sunny, fully equipped, overlooking P St. /Dupont Circle. On our way out later Rebecca the manager was on duty. She asked if all was well and we could not thank her enough for arranging our move. Plans are in place to upgrade apartments in the mansion but I think the issue still remains with windowless units and given it is a listed building nothing can be done to resolve this. All the staff here are exceptionally pleasant and helpful and happy to chat when passing. We absolutely loved our stay here and plan to return again next year. But will ensure we book a tower apartment!

I booked this hotel for 1 night and the service was good, the room was clean and provided all the things I needed. The only thing that bothers me just like any other hotel in DC is the parking no parking on the property you have to find parking on the roadside. But other than that good stay.

I was nervous given the previous reviews but it turned out to be a good stay. Mostly clean apartment with some stains on the couch and furniture but no major issues. Reception was empty when I got there, so it was a short wait for someone to show up.

MICE! Stay at your own risk!

Stayed at the DuPont Circle PlaceMakr this week and didn’t have a good experience. Location is an old building that has no ramp for suitcase/strollers into the lobby, which makes it difficult and inconvenient. Lobby literally has mousetraps placed in many corners, indicating a pest problem not under control. Upon entering our room, there was a stench of rotten fish, which persisted for the two nights we stayed.

During the 2nd night, we literally had a mouse/rat enter the room just as we put our toddler to bed. The front desk agents were all very kind and did set us up with a new room for the night, thus the 3 stars for service. However we were promised a call from management regarding promised “compensation” that has yet to ever come, even 4 days after the incident. Clearly no regard for customer service (with exception of the kind front desk agents). Will not be staying here in the future.

This place was straight up nasty. Rats in the room. Asked to switch and they gave us a new room that was still gross. We left after that night and will never be back. Management won’t compensate or even care.

I came here in June & when I did my AC was broken. I fell asleep sweating every night of my stay, but I was given a partial refund. I’m here again in August & I when I got here I ended up with a room much different and smaller than what I paid for. I was offered another partial refund. 2 random men from “maintenance” showed up to my room the other day, inviting themselves in to fix something that ended up not even being broken. I usually get woken up every morning because I can hear everyone speaking in the lobby from my room. At night, I can hear the people above me talking (and moaning) because the floors are so thin between us. Tonight, I walked into my room & found a huge cockroach running across my room. I left several days early as a result. Usually, PlaceMakr is my first choice wherever I go, but not this location, not anymore. You’re much better off going spending less money to stay at a nicer hotel. I regret coming here.

I loved it, only that the wood on the floor seems not to be well glued and makes a lot of noise every time I walk into the apartment.everything else is excellent

I have leased my apartment here for several months while I am renovating my home. I am extremely satisfied with the high touch level of service. Aside from it being a very beautiful property the staff is 5 stars. They are responsive and address any needs or issues immediately. It’s been a terrific experience.

Our experience would have been really inconvenient if not for the incredible staff that works here. We experienced some isolated inconveniences that if not for Ashley, Armani, and London respectively, we probably would have relocated to different lodging. Their attentiveness, kindness, and protectiveness are the driving reason to why we would absolutely come back and stay here again. They built a rapport with us and really made us feel welcome and trust them to address any issues that ever came up.

Great location! Wonderful service! London was a GREAT help, she was so kind and so courteous. I enjoyed my stay here, it was so clean and the rooms looked fantastic!

My first time here was a wonderful experience, I absolutely had a ball. The environment was clean and customer service was amazing, especially from London she was a doll. Wonderful attitude, super attentive. I absolutely loved her.

The location of the hotel is definitely the right spot however the rooms and maintenance could use some help!

A TOTAL SCAM
Only positive note: The location.
My travel group and I were scammed by this establishment.
Arrived on day 1, there was no one at reception and we had to wait about an hour.
2/3 days we did not receive breakfast (despite it being included in our rate)!
We did not receive room cleaning service.
My partner's and I room had a broken air conditioner and, as a replacement, they had placed a penguin in it with an external exhaust (so we always had to have the window open!) A scandal.
The hotel was undergoing a change of management and we bitterly paid the consequences.
They charged us a higher cost than what was reported on Booking, as well as blocking an amount of $4,000 for no reason on the card of our friend who had paid for the property. The new management not only made us false promises (of a refund of a portion that we never received) but, once we changed city, it completely stopped responding to our complaint emails.
We were SCAMMED and it totally ruined our holiday.
NEVER stay in this facility if you want to avoid your holiday becoming a real nightmare!

BAD / non-existent SERVICE; terrible experience! Don't be fooled by some cute photos found online.

Imagine arriving at the hotel very tired, after a journey of over 15 hours, wanting to check in and no one to welcome you.
Imagine waking up the next morning and not finding breakfast included in your package or not receiving room cleaning service.
Do you think it's over here? Absolutely not! For just 3 days, they blocked over €4000 (a greater amount than the agreed one, blaming the problem on the non-functioning system) on the credit card used for the booking, compromising the entire holiday in America and the return to Italy, visa that the card is still blocked.
Cherry on top: initially, the hotel manager promised us a refund for the inefficiencies, only to then stop responding to emails.
So we don't know when this terrible experience will come to an end.

I WILL NEVER STAY AT A PLACEMAKR PROPERTY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AGAIN!
