Red Light Bar & Detroit Pizza reviews
18Great place, high quality food, toilet inside, a bit loud in Saturday night, but what to expect Best Detroit pizza in my life, freshly made.
Detroit style pizza has quickly become my favorite style of pizza. Thick but light and fluffy crust, wisconsin brick cheese, and great sauce. I got the OG pepperoni and it was delicious. Whenever I walk by it always smells unreal, so finally came in one day for a quick bite before the bars. I recommend splitting one pie for two people if you are looking to keep it light. One whole pizza for one person will probably put you out of commission for a couple hours. We didn't try the cocktails but they had a decent selection of beers. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and being off of 14th street, parking is gonna be difficult but not impossible. The staff is friendly and quick, I highly recommend if you are in the mood for detroit style. I would also recommend Little Beast Bistro up Connecticut Ave in Chevy Chase.
The Detroit style pizza here is great! And the cheese sticks (Gordie sticks) are also really well done. Easy to split a pizza and a Gordie sticks between two and have a full second meal left over.
Some of the best Detroit style pizza I’ve had. Get the classic cheese. It really doesn’t need anything else. Great happy hour specials. Half off a couple of their pizzas
Definitely differently made crust, one of two part pizza is about $20.00 good enough for one or two persons.
It’s one of
My favorite pizza place in DC. Red light is close to my house so we often got take out and eat at home. Taste was always good
They have lovely pizzas here but I don't understand why they charge 20% service for to go orders! That's a pure rip off!
Good pizza, the vegan cheese has a very unpleasant texture, but perhaps that's just a self-inflicted curse for me
*BEWARE: Red Light now automatically includes a secret 20% tip on every bill, but still asks you to give more. Shockingly, the cashiers only sometimes warn you that the tip has been applied, leaving lots of customers to accidentally tip 25-30-40 percent at a place where the customer does half the work. We've seen this happen to us, our friends, and strangers many times in recent months. *
My friends and I have been long-time customers of Red Light. While the patio is great and the pizza is truly delicious, their recent price rises, insufficient beer menu, inconsistent service, and new auto-tipping policy have lately been leaving a bad taste in our mouths.
5 starts for the Detroit style pizza. Minus star for the loud music and lack of atmosphere.
Thus place is phenomenal. Great staff, amazing food, delicious drinks, and an experience that will have me back. I love this place!
Rude and dishonest staff. They automatically charge you 20% tip and then ask you to tip on top of that for TAKEOUT! They don’t give you an itemized bill, they just take your card. 27.50 for a personal pizza? No thank you!
The pizza is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of options. The salad could be better, but it's a pizza place, so I think it is a great pizza.
Got the burrata pizza. Took it home and the burrata was still frozen. Had to microwave the hot pizza to get the burrata cool not frozen. Not a good first impression. Was good otherwise and MIGHT try it again because it's close. Maybe.
UPDATE oK we've tried their pizza multiple times since and it's fabulous. Motown all the way.
Great pizza! But they automatically chage 20% Gratuity. Do nothing and then ask for a few more percent at check out. These guys don't deserve the 1st 20%. They don't care about their customers. Lazy.
Walked by this place one hundred times and just tried their amazing pizza. It is a Detroit Style pizza made in cast iron pans. Sauce is amazing! You order at the counter and they bring the food to you.
Great pizza! But they charged 20% compulsitory tip for my take out order. A compulsatory tip is not a tip, it is a fee. I got charged, for supporting them with my business. I don't have a problem paying more for the product I am buying, but a not a fee. Get real you are not a bank!
