We recently stayed one night at the Residence Inn Washington Capital Navy Yard for the PiNK? Concert on Monday August 7th at the Nationals field in DC. This concert was a Christmas gift for my husband as I'd wanted to see PiNK in concert for years. I immediately went out to locate a hotel within walking distance of the venue and typically have always had amazing stays with Marriott and it's affiliated hotel so after seeing this hotel was in walking distance, with valet parking & free Breakfast I immediately reserved a room. After what should have been a 2-hour drive we arrived in DC over 4 hours later and worked our way to the hotel with little over an hour until the concert began. Imagine our surprise upon arrival the chaos surrounding the hotel with nowhere to pull over & NO VALET in sight in order to check in, but instead guests were double parking blocking traffic even further. Upon my arrival at the front desk which was not on the street level when walking in, but an elevator ride to the 2nd floor. There were two people working the front desk and what appeared to be unhappy guests, as I would soon find out why. When I was being checked in the associate advised me there was no parking available as they had run out of spaces. When. I asked how this could happen I was told this hotel does not have their own parking, but instead rent spaces from another company. Nowhere online or under amenities was anything mentioned regarding the possibility of not having a parking space. Nor did it state their was a $55 parking fee per night, however in our case it didn't matter as we were told with no empathy or remorse that we did NOT have a place to park. When I asked where we should park I was matter of factly told I would need find parking elsewhere. And when the Valet came to the front desk he had an attitude and literally ignored any guests requesting for assistance in locating parking. Not being from DC I was at a total loss. As we drove around in the chaotic traffic & closed streets due to the concert and numerous concert goers any parking lots we ran across were sold out due to the concert. Frustrated I went to turn around in a residential parking lot and while working our way around we were lucky enough to meet a very kind gentleman directing traffic who felt sorry for two women just trying to make it to the concert and find somewhere safe we could park overnight, as we still would need to walk back to our hotel (13 min walk) with our luggage in tow in a torrential downpour and high winds that had begun while searching for parking. Once we parked we had to trust that my truck would be there on the morning. Arriving back at the hotel we and our luggage were soaked. We made our way to the room, which was clean & very nice, opened our luggage and had to blow dry some of our clothing and shower so we could try to make ot back to the venue before PiNK took the stage. We were able to make it to the concert in time to see PiNK? However it would have been nice to have had the full experience as we missed seeing Pat Benatar her opening act. Later that night back at the hotel to my surprise I started receiving alrerts from my bank regarding unknown charges from the hotel that the bank was declining as they were not authorized. In total I received 2 messages regarding unauthorized charges on a credit card I had not provided the hotel at check in. The next morning breakfast was nice and loved running into a few fur babies and upon check out I asked how/why the hotel would be processing charges on a credit card I had not given them only to be told it was on file. However I showed it was not saved in the app to which they couldn't explain. Long story short if you have a need to stay in DC near the Nationals field make a reservation at
Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC-Navy Yard next door as they have their own parking area and valets happy to assist their guests!

Just wonderful. I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful Marriott hotel. The staff is exceptionally wonderful! We ate some of the best free breakfast I have ever had! Perfect location, close to shops, Farmers market and the restaurants. The rooms are clean, spacious and they come with a kitchen! Easily accessible by train or bus. Be prepared to pay for parking but Don't worry, they offer exceptional valet experience. My wife three boys and I highly recommend staying here.

LaShonda was AWESOME! She is front desk and made me feel so welcomed. She greeted me every afternoon when I walked in by name or if I called the front desk. LaShonda customer service was top-tier, and she is a great asset to the company.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, although near a sports stadium. From the hotel in about 20 minutes you can walk to the Capitol and also to the White House. Very good breakfast was included.

One of the best Marriot I have been to. Nice ambience and super customer service. The complimentary breakfast also very good and had lot of options.

We stayed at the Residence Inn for about 1.5 weeks and we absolutely enjoyed our stay there. The hotel has a good vibe, the room was spacious and the highlight of our stay was (really) the staff. They made us feel welcomed. They were ever so friendly and jovial. Shoutout to the front of the house team for making us feel like we are coming home every time we passed by the recep, Josephine (I hope I got her name right) from Housekeeping for getting us a kettle - you really don’t have to, and Daisy for making our breakfast session enjoyable with our morning chit chat.
The wonderful service we experienced at Residence Inn set the tone for our next hotel stay in DC. The other hotel did not even come close. We missed the team at Residence Inn and can’t help comparing our experiences.

Management - Your teams are keepers. Well done!

This place has THE WORST customer service ever. Housekeeping cleaned my room and mistook a bag for garbage and now no one can find it and upper management was off for the weekend and said that if we needed it to call the police. One of the front desk employees “Kay” was very rude stating that digging in the garbage was not in its job’s description. Kay was loud and extremely unprofessional. My entire four day stay was over 1300.00 including 65.00 a night to park my car. For all that money management was so inconsiderate and unconcerned about my personal items that went missing. The only person that really tried to help was Lashonda. I will never ever stay here again

Rooms were nice but the beds were awful. And the mandatory $55 a night valet parking they don’t tell you about damaged the door on my new truck and they wont do anything about it. It was very clearly slammed into someone else’s car or a wall in the garage but since i didn’t notice it until i had “left the property” they won’t do anything about it. Wont even refund the parking we were never told about when booking. The valet manager Chelsi was also very rude when we called and explained the situation.

We stayed only for one night, but had a wonderful experience. Our room was spacious and very clean. The view wasn't great, but we didn't hear any noise for either the street or the hallway. The Hotel is steps away from plenty of restaurants and bars, Nationals Park, Audi field, and the Metro's Green Line has a station a block away.

Location is perfect. If you want to be close to downtown DC, have quick access to transportation and the metro. This is the place. It's less expensive than many places north of the mall. But it feels a lot safer and is easy to get to. Plenty of places to eat close at hand.

I do not give 5 stars because one of the guys at the reception who had the keys to the concierge was praying inside while we had been waiting for 15 minutes

Great location near the Nat's ballpark. Stayed there because our son lives nearby. Due to covid, they did not offer housekeeping service during our stay. We had to request soap, towels, coffee, and other amenities at the front desk. Had to empty our own trash by putting garbage in the can outside the elevators. Update; normal services and amenities have resumed. Update: Valet parking up to $55 per day!
