American Restaurant Ris reviews
19Had the Chicken Milanese with potatoes and arugula salad.also enjoyed the stout beer.finished the chocolate hazelnut dacquois.loved the window seat watching the city walk by.can hardly wait to go again.
The food was quite well prepared with fresh, crisp vegetables and choice beef. Very good job on carefully preparing food for people with allergies and dietary restrictions.
Absolutely phenomenal venue. Was in town for a work conference, and ended up visiting Ris three times. Never disappointed. The cocktails are fantastic, but the food. WOW. Pictured here is the Scallop Margarita. Also loved the Portuguese Seafood Stew and the Chicken Milanese. Can't wait to return during my next visit to DC! I'll be
We had a great meal and experience at this restaurant.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great
Gave us an expired validation ticket for our parking. Cost us $26 in parking. Had to make 2 phone calls to get the restaurant to make it right.
Really adored my restaurant week experience. I'm in love with the cauliflower lentil entree
This is my third time at Ris in as many years, and every time we make the trek into DC it's worth it! We came for lunch during DC Restaurant Week, and loved each of our 3 courses. The crown of cauliflower is always a gem, but the brussels sprouts have a special place in my heart. We'll be back!
Not enough selection on the menu. The fish I ordered was bad - it had a distinctive ammonia smell to it. Way over-priced. I would not eat there again.
Service was of low quality, the staff were not courteous enough, and the environment was uncomfortable and noisy.
Ris and her entire team were absolutely wonderful! From planning to execution of our business event, they delivered and surpassed our expectations! Our server Gino anticipated our every need and made sure that our entire team felt at home during our staff meeting. The food was divine and priced well. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely use them again!
RIS hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner for 20 recently and the entire experience was awesome. Ris herself worked with me to develop a menu that would meet the needs of all our guests (vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, children and some allergies!) The Federal Room was lovely, service was immaculate, and food was unbelievably delicious. (The scallop margarita appetizer and pepita crusted salmon were especially adored by our guests.) We had a standing cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres followed by a 3 course menu with multiple options to choose from. Everyone was happy! Thank you, Ris and your great team!
Flavorful Cuisine. Great service and ambiance! Would definitely recommend for a business lunch or dinner.
The service can be a bit slow but relax and enjoy the great food. The eggplant entree is superb.
Food was good. Service was beautiful. Definitely recommend. The State Room is perfect for a smaller group dinner. We lost track of time while dining. Always a good sign.
Ris had everything I needed to host a successful event for 10+ people coming in from out of town: great food, private setup with enough space, and even audio/visual! Their direct communication with me was greatly appreciated whenever I had any questions regarding the setup of the event. I will definitely continue to book private events with their team. I highly recommend booking with Ris to any event planner out there and to anyone that wants fantastic service:) Thank you so much Ris!
I came here for lunch during restaurant week. The service was great as was the food and the price. My waiter was an older man who was very attentive. I started the meal with a scallop margarita ceviche. It was good, but I did regret paying $5 extra for it and would have gone for a different appetizer. The chicken Milanese and the cherry tart dessert were where the food really shined. Both were so good and I just wished that I could have eaten even more of them. The food was good enough that I gotta come back another time! Highly recommend the chicken Milanese and the cherry tart dessert
It has been a while since our last visit. Pre Covid in fact. We finally made it. I had been salivating about my favorite starter. Scallop Margarita! It did not disappoint. Worth the trip!
Go. For. Dessert. It was incredible. The peach tart and homemade ice cream are absolutely divine! Service started as an 8 (out of 5) then went to a 2. We’ll blame it on the dinner rush because they were aces in the beginning. The restaurant itself is a GORGEOUS 5. Perfect for a date/anniversary night, covert dinner, or entertaining business associates. The food was about a 3 - not bad but not memorable.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing experience. The service was great and the food was delicious. We especially loved the crispy brussel sprouts. Highly recommend!
