Rise Bakery reviews
12Completely gluten free with a ton of options that are delicious - what else could you ask for as someone with celiac? We had a number of their products and they were all good to great! The breakfast sandwich specifically was such a nice surprise - forgot how much I miss a good egg sandwich to start the day. Thank you, Rise!
Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. My only regret is not getting even more to take home with us.
I travel to Adams Morgan once a week and always make effort and time to stop here for chocolate croissant and coffee. You can seat by the window and watch the view (people passing by) reading at leisure or listening to music while biding your time. Such relaxation is, nowadays, a luxury with so much noise and anxiety. Part of it comes from the very friendly staff and management, of course.
Gluten-free without comprising on flavor and texture. Many great soy-, dairy-, egg-, and nut-free options too.
As a Celiac, I'm so grateful for this place. Their cheese & jalapeño bread is amazing. Unfortunately the cupcakes aren't, though. I tried 4 and they were all really dry and too solid.
Looking forward to trying more items though.
Pretty standard lemon bars and avocado toast topped with cucumbers. Wasn't sure what to expect of the gluten-free croissants, but struck me as a bit dense.
A bit disappointing - 2 gf bagel sandwiches for $26. Every component was bland - highly suggest reformulating the bagel and egg recipes to include more salt and overall seasoning.
Their website doesn’t provide any information on how to store the cupcakes. I picked up my cupcakes a couple hours in advance of my event and let them sit at room temperature. I chose not to refrigerate because I didn’t want to ruin the cupcakes by making them too cold. The frosting completely melted off! Had their business explained this it could have been avoided. Not worth the money and a big disappointment.
This used to be a favorite but im not enjoying their gluten free pastries as much as I used to, and I'm not sure if their pastries have always been like this or I've just tried better bakeries lately. After living in NYC for a couple years, where there are several fantastic gluten free bakeries, and then coming back and going to Rise, I've been less impressed with their pastries.
Their cupcakes are drier than I'd like, the scone was dry in a stiff way and not in a crumbly scone type of dry. I still love their cinnamon rolls, cookies, and eclairs, though, and their seasonal frosted sugar cookies are fantastic. They will still get my business for being one of only a few dedicated gluten free bakeries but I'm sadly not quite as enthusiastic about them as I used to be.
I'd give 3.5 stars if i could but rounded up to 4 because the staff is always really friendly and helpful.
Rise expanded their gluten free options, it’s great to see breakfast sandwiches and frozen bread on the menu.
They were out of smoked salmon early Sunday afternoon so out breakfast options were somewhat limited. Suggestion: add (maybe optional) egg and even better, also smoked salmon to the avocado toast!
Such great gluten-free options. I was able to get vegan options as well. Some of the best vegan gluten-free treats I've ever had!
Gluten free heaven! I was so excited to find this bakery. I got an egg, bacon, cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich! And a cinnamon roll! Both were delicious! Great service too!
