We went to Rose's for our anniversary - my first time going but not my husbands. It was also Rose's 10 year with a special pre-fix menu. We had fun because we were together, but we had a surprisingly very disappointing experience with the restaurant.

We ordered sparkling water, the tap waters were not away - nor the empty bottle. Empty cocktail glasses were not taken away. The server took my husband's 2nd drink order but not mine before walking away, and then the drink was wrong. I decided to keep it and they brought his correct one (a little surprised we were charged for that). The server kept addressing us a "okay friends, " which was strange.

Things were coming much too fast - suddenly we had 3 courses in front of us and had to request they slow down. It would have been nice if we had our own prepared plates and not a share plate that we had to cut and move to our own plates (and less plates required that way).

Some of the dishes were quite heavy and by the time the entree came it just wasn't enjoyable and we didn't eat much. Challah bread to start - with a strong butter from some sort of spice seed that was good for the first bite but not beyond. Salad and cabbage and then Cacio de Pepe (just ok), Gnocchi - which really wasn't gnocchi at all it was pierogis (disappointing), then fried chicken. The fried chicken was just ok, and came with good biscuits but unfortunately butter with fried chicken skin which would have been good had it not had frying oil in it (awful). While sitting with this dish, they brought around champagne glasses and poured us Miller beer "the champagne of beers" because thats what they thought we should be having with fried chicken. Unfortunately that's not something either of us would enjoy and was quite wasteful.

When they took the chicken away we said we were full. After all of that, they brought not 1 but 2 desserts - an anniversary one on top of the large included one (an over-salted chocolate souffle). We just looked at them and couldn't even think about eating them. I might have enjoyed a digestif or a coffee or something - never offered.

When closing out our bill we were brought what looked like a grocery bag with Rose's name on one side and "F*** Perfect" on the other. It had a sandwich in it to go with two Capri Sun beverages. I'm really questioning the selections and what Rose's seems to think diner's go to high end restaurants for these days. For what we paid (and even that aside), I doubt I'll ever go back - and I certainly won't be recommending it.

A wonderful experience. Surprising, interesting, delicious food, and lots of it. Very attentive, but never overbearing, service. So much fun. Not inexpensive, but a wonderful value.

We hadn't been to Roses for several years and certainly first time post-pandemic.

The restaurant was busy but not packed on a Friday evening and we didn't have reservations. Since our prior visits, the style has changed to a choose your own adventure, though you can choose entirely on your own or shared with the table. $105 pre fixe

Javier took care of us at the bar and was absolutely amazing from start to finish ensuring the birthday person felt celebrated/recognized. He was also very attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations on vino. Almost everything was good, with the exception of the short rib. We were very excited for this dish and even ordered a double quantity! However the dish was underwhelming - very little taste in the sauce and meat was dry. The slicing was also strange.
Again, javier made the meal memorable - we will definitely remember her!

I was a regular here, and It used to be best even though it was tough to make a reservation. But now, it is way overpriced with that small food portion. And it is a ridiculous menu/price rule. The tapas menu was way easier, cheaper and more enjoyable. I am very hesitant to go back this restaurant.

I had the pleasure of dining at this Michelin-starred establishment in celebration of my wife's birthday on September 15th. While our experience offered notable highlights, it was also accompanied by some regrettable aspects, left us with somewhat mixed experience.

Let's start with the positives. The biscuit with chicken butter was surprisingly decent, and I must commend the culinary artistry behind the caviar with ice cream. The unexpected combination of flavors and the exquisite garnish truly delighted the palate, and it's a dish I won't soon forget. The pasta was mediocre in quality, but the quality of the fish dish was exceptional.

However, there were some notable downsides to our visit. The service was, unfortunately, subpar. Our server seemed in a hurry and rushed through things, which took away from the overall dining experience. What disappointed us the most was the constant attention from the staff, always checking if we were finished with our food. It made us feel rushed and somewhat uncomfortable. We even left some of our dishes halfway through because of this constant interruption. This level of service was unexpected, especially in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Overall the food met our high expectations, the rushed service and over-attentiveness from the staff were major drawbacks to our dining experience. It's a place with potential, but they should work on finding the right balance between attentive service and allowing guests to savor their meals without feeling pressured.

I love going to Rose’s! This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC, the staff are so sweet, the service is amazing, and the food is to absolutely die for!

I had a rough start my past visit when I went to the bathroom and my necklace charm fell in the sink drain! I told my server about it and emphasized that I would definitely understand if nothing could be done about it.well about 20 minutes later I had my necklace back after they took apart the sink to find it! I was so over the moon since I was beginning to accept the fact that I wouldn’t see it again.

This is just one example of how amazing the staff are at Rose’s and is one of the main reasons why I keep coming back (and of course for the pork lychee salad!)

I can’t wait to go back (and next time I’ll make sure to fasten my necklace and jewelry on tightly lol)

Amazing food with complimentary gifts, champagne, and food. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion! The short rib was my favorite, also biscuits with honey chicken butter were amazing

Ive been here several times and it’s always a delight. The staff is always lovely, the food is always amazing, and you never leave hungry! For its price point, in my opinion, this is the best restaurant in the DC metropolitan area.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate. The staff made the experience absolutely amazing. The food was to die for. We got a take home bag with a snack to cook together later.

We went celebrating and birthday and Bonnie was absolutely amazing from start to finish ensuring the birthday person felt celebrated/recognized. She was also very attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Almost everything was good, with the exception of the short rib. We were very excited for this dish and even ordered a double quantity! However the dish was underwhelming - very little taste in the sauce and meat was dry. The slicing was also strange, like it was against the grain. The coconut tres leches dessert was overly sweet, we didn't even take leftovers, but perhaps personal preference.
Again, Bonnie made the meal memorable - we will definitely remember her!

Do you consider yourself to be any level of “foodie”? Have you ever thought you might want to dabble in the foodie world? Do you not subscribe to labels and you just have tastebuds and you like to make them happy? Whichever it is, you must eat at Rose’s Luxury.

Easily one of my favorite dining experiences to date. Everything that happened from the time we walked into and sat in the quaint, fun, energetic space was wonderful. The “Choose Your Own Adventure” menu was full of unique and interesting dishes. It isn’t easy to choose, so go with someone who can order other things…it’s a perfect sharing menu.

I won’t review course by course, but I will say that if you do nothing else (and you eat meat) order the pork and lychee salad. Seriously. It was one of the most amazing dishes I’ve ever tasted. It somehow hit all five tastes with a mix of power and subtlety that thrilled with every bite. My wife and I couldn’t stop looking at each other with bewilderment and excitement and saying things that were probably just satisfied noises more than words.

The service from the staff of friendly, beautiful souls was impeccable and exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of this quality. While the vibe is energetic but chill and not at all stuffy, the service was absolutely fine dining quality. If you can score seats at the chef’s counter, do it. It’s a great show to watch and the interaction with the staff is fun.

I could rave on and on, but I won’t. Rose’s Luxury is a must if you love food. They deserve every accolade they receive.

Incredible food with generous portions, friendly staff with the perfect amount of contact, nice atmosphere. Only negative was the AC was on very strongly and it was very cold the whole time.

Had an incredible dinner celebrating a milestone in my wife’s career. Everything was outstanding. The food was interesting, fun, and delicious. The portions were huge for a restaurant with a Michelin star, and we had to bag our dessert up because we couldn’t eat any more! The highlight of the night was our bartender and waiter, Margo. He was friendly and outgoing and went above and beyond to make our night special and memorable. Ask for him the next time you go- you’ll be glad you did.

Didn’t know we went to a Michelin stared restaurant until we found out later on the website. There are things I don’t like, and other things I like about this place.

Caviar and coconut ice cream? I mean it tastes good don’t get me wrong but I feel like they can make an effort into making the dish. I appreciate the simplicity, but I just feel like there should be more into it.

Seem like I have the same experience with other customers with the “cauliflower”.

I went to many restaurants that cook foods passionately and the money come after. Foods can be subjective of how good they are. But if many people like the those foods, it’s universal.

Some dishes were amazing like the pork lychee dish and the calamari. Others were a miss like the cauliflower and the sun gold tomato pasta was too sweet and one note for my taste although the pasta itself was excellent. Short ribs were not as tender and flavorful as I would have liked and the whole fish was ok not outstanding.

Mediocre, gimmicky food, very slow service. Servers were friendly and attentive. Overall, not worth it.
