Side Door Pizza, Washington DC

Disappointing first-time ordering from Side Door. Admittedly I used a delivery service, but my pizza arrived in under an hour so I don't think it was their fault.

First, my order was wrong. I ordered half pepperoni, half meatball, but only received pepperoni. Pizza was so soggy it was soaking through the box. And not with grease. It was literally wet. I've had Detroit style pizza before and have never once had this issue.

Also ordered wings. Side door should really consider poking steam holes in their containers like other restaurants so the food doesn't get mushy.

Huge bummer compared to the other great reviews here. I feel like I wasted money and can't say I'm willing to try them again.

Get the special and dump on that hot pepper relish. It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.

Picked up a Detroit-style Pepperoni on Wednesday night and loved it. It's Friday late-morning, I just reheated a few pieces and it's STILL the best pizza I've had since moving to MD 7 years ago.

Do you see those photos? Do you see it. I mean the awesome soft pizza to a crust of perfection. The Louie and the pepperoni pizza. This is good fresh, warmed up or cold. It doesn't get any better than this. I love these places that are not franchised. Better pizza more love in the food. If you have not had it get it. They close at 10 PM. Good for late night snacks and such. This pizza is so good you going to want your own. No sharing.

Solid, Detroit style pizza. I believe all their pizza comes in one size with most around $30. A pizza can easily feed 4 people. Good choice if you're in the area, craving pizza.

Best place to eat in navy yard. We moved out of the neighborhood but we used to order every week. Please open more locations in the DMV!

Delicious pizza and salad! Pizza crust was super crunchy - sauce delicious - pepperoni had a great flavor (albeit a bit too salty for my taste). Salad was a brussel caesar which had amazing crunch, unique croutons and a delicious flavor - never had anything like it before. And they gave us a free (super delicious) bottle of french rose wine to-boot! Overall, a unique pizza and salad experience here in DMV. Definitely give them a try - you won't be dissappointed!

Just plain old delicious. I had the deep dish cheese pizza and loved it in comparison to other deep dish places in the city. Yum!

Number one best pizza in the entire world. Has the nicest staff and every time I’ve ever ordered from here the food has been fresh and delicious. Also - their homemade ranch is SO GOOD.

Delicious pizza, courteous staff! We live next door and when we schedule a pick up, the pizza is always hot and ready to go at the scheduled time. Can recommend and enjoy the variation on pizza toppings and appetizer options.

This is my new favorite pizza in DC. I love the crust and style of this pizza and it’s even good days after. The service here is also great. I ordered a pizza for 5: 00 pick up and arrived about ten minutes early fully expecting a locked door and being told they’re not open yet—instead they greeted me with big smiles and told me my pizza would be ready any minute and could wait inside out of the cold. They also gave me a free bottle of wine just because I asked if they sold beer or wine and they don’t but had some!

Really, really good Detroit style and they keep it simple. Would also order just the wings alone they're that good.
