Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square

I recently stayed here, we booked three rooms. The hotel over charged me on all three rooms by actually taking the pre approval charge for the first night on credit card and not representing this as a credit on my final invoice. The admin staff never return calls and totally ignore your requests for call backs. So if you want to be over charged and ignored.stay here!

Prices are to exorbitant in the mini bar. 12oz can of coke $6, little liquor bottles $12 or $13, gummies bear little container $13, little can of Pringles $10. The can isnt even 4inch tall with chips. Evian spring water $7 for a 10oz bottle<br/>We got a junior suite. The TV is huge but not located in a convenient spot where you can look directly in front of you. <br/>I will not be back. Spend you money elsewhere

UPDATE: the staff member and the manager worked with me to make it right. Got me a new key made (caused a minor issued, being handled), waived our valet charge, and are still working to help me get my key chain back that was a gift from a Soldier of mine from our time overseas. An invaluable gift to me.

Checked in, walked to see the sights and shortly later recieved a call stating my car keys had been lost.

I've had yhe pleasure of staying at this French Boutique hotel.in the heart of Washington. The rooms are very nicely appointed, Breakfast is wonderful, relaxed and service is great.

Such a cute bar. We walked In 15 minutes before the big crowd so we saw this place fill up. Good drinks

Nice hotel and comfortable clean rooms. Having to wait for valet both times was slightly inconvenient. Location is unbeatable

Luxury Room, City View was booked.location is excellent, 5-10 mins walk from hotel to metro station (McPherson Square and Metro Center station), 15mins walk to The White House Staffs are nice, helpful and professional. The room is big, clean, tidy and cosy. Very big bathroom with both shower and tub. There's a coffee bar in the lobby every morning. Poor service at reception desk. Made me wait to check in when I needed to get to sleep. Room was dusty and without a view. Wish I never came here.

My wife and I spent 5 nights during 4th of July. Wait staff in restaurant was average at best. Had to ask for bread, slow, food very pricey with small portions. Trying to be high class, poor job. We were 1 of 3 couples in restaurant. No room service menu, took an hour to get one. No view, no pool. Conciere lacked knowledge. Location was best positive!

I was going to DC for a few days to visit some friends and see some sights I didn't see the last time around. The Sofitel was really well located as a nice base to explore the city to see the wholesome sights like monuments and museums.

I didn't like that the receptionist didn't ask me if I was an Accor member or not. As a result I'm not having to go through the hassle of getting the nights redeemed through the website since they weren't credit with the stay and I obviously missed out on getting the benefits during my stay.

The hotel itself is amazing and in a location to access all the DC has to offer. But the one thing that enjoyed over anything else was the staff. They were courteous, professional, and efficient. Definately the place I'll stay when coming to DC.

Disaster of a hotel. Should be shut down. We were here for a conference for 3 days. Rooms were not available on time, and many colleagues had to wait for an hour or more after 3pm! The hotel is in shambles - air-conditioning in the conference room did not work for all 3 days and they did nothing to alleviate the heat and intense discomfort we felt. Washrooms for gents and ladies had non-functional basins, roof was leaking, etc. Rooms were not cleaned properly. We had a nasty stain in our bathroom pot, food from earlier guests on the floor, plug points not working, no bubble bath or finger nail cutter. Maybe if it was one off, it may have been passed off as a mistake, but to have this happen to over 20-30 guests in our group! All this in the top of the line hotel. Apologies were hard to come by too. Truly a disaster and definitely needs a lot of work.

Amazing service. Stayed here for a week roughly one ~month ago. Was on business/pleasure. Staff was wonderful, housekeeping did a phenomenal job and the location was pretty convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a relaxing stay.

I was very disappointed in my stay at the Sofitel in DC. I have stayed at the Sofitel before and the service at the hotel from start to end was extremely disappointing. The staff appeared burdened to help us with our bags and didn't help bring them to the room, the service at the restaurant was extremely slow despite them being well staffed and not busy, and they were rude to us on the phone when we called for room service late at night despite advertising 24h room service. I would have rather stayed at a neighboring hotel than here.

Nice hotel, clean room, good facilities, great location. Staff was helpful and friendly. Not sure I would classify this as a 5 star hotel though. Public areas are quite nice but rooms were fairly standard

I had high expectations of my stay here. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The attention to detail was lacking. As I arrived a bit early and waited over 2 hours for my room to be ready, I never received a message or call telling me it was ready. Finally I decided to ask, and they acted as if it had been ready all along. When I finally made it to my room, the hand soap was missing, and someone had left the opened pack of Qtips. I called housekeeping and even after an hour, no soap. On the positive note, it was one of the most comfortable bed in any hotel. Very well decorated, and spacious bathroom. I would give them another try.

The valet parking is confusing, i need to go around twice and cannot find anyone to park. Check in very quick, room is average size, clean, ask for crib and they deliver quickly. The USB and electrical plug on the night stand does not work. Shower head is slow and weak. No space in the fridge as all occupied by the pay items with sensor, basically useless if you want to store some milk for kids. Bed is comfy. Location is well. Noise from the alley woke me up at 6: 20am when they clearing their garbage. I can hear the room next door too.

Not what Iexpected at all. Who said 5 stars. They need to reevaluate that number. Comfortably 3 at best. Beds need some help. Comfy chairs i don't think sooo. Breakfast.basic.

I’m a huge fan of Sofitel wherever I go and this one did not disappoint. They’re always beautiful with a ‘French’ modern feeling. The beds are just the most comfortable ever. Very big bathroom with both shower and tub. The gym was quite small and no pool. I’d definitely go back though.

Very European in not a great way. Everything kind of dark and small. Rooms need updated. Furniture old and not comfortable. No top sheets on beds? Postives, great location, things are clean and staff was professional.
