Starbucks, Washington DC

I tried to customize my drink but it was a real challenge and I still didn't get what I asked for. Coffee tasted bad. Nowhere to sit. Very poor experience.

Lazy employees. Badly managed store. No one goes to the register to take orders. The line just piles up.

One of the worst Starbucks I have been too. For an easy coffee latte they needed 30 min. Even after asking them how long it would take (after a 15 min wait while two of us already had their Caramel Frappuccino) we did not get an answer except for „we will make it“ in a way that was everything but nice. Instead of making the coffee they continued making the orders (also coffees) from people who came in way after us.
I am used better.

I ordered my drink, however it didn’t came out for more than 30minutes, though all other drinks came out. Moreover, even when I asked about what happened to the workers, they didn’t even tried to hear me. They were very rude. So I just came out after I pay my money. I think I will not go back.

This shop is dirty and unwelcome. One bathroom is out of order but they made the other bathroom barista only. Are you serious? I was told it is against the policy to let us use the barista bathroom. No this is the public bathroom and you made it barista. We have to sit on the window because they took the chairs out.

Start with saying that the staff here was fantastic. They are all friendly and warm.

Coffee was not made to expectations nor to instructions.
Food was less than you would expect something mediocre. Not even remotely looking like the picture. Some parts were scorching hot, others very cold.

No seating.

Nice place, some staff much slower than others but overall store pace is ok.coffee tastes bad compared to other Starbucks I've been.

Very rude staff. Ridiculed as Italian simulating stereotypical hand gestures just because I could not understand some questions.yet I had asked for a simple espresso with milk. Maybe I just met the wrong person and I don't want to generalize, but for what it's worth, I won't go there again.

Terrible location with ghetto women with rude attitudes, a different location is probably better.

Ngl the building is gorgeous and their cold brews are consistently good across the country. The main issue with this location is the lack of any kind of seating.

Coffee, like everywhere else at Starbucks, but it took a very long time to make it, a very long time

I've worked next to this Starbucks for approx 10 years now and order a few times a week.
Not one experience is the same. Sometimes the staff and service is awesome and other times, I contemplate never going back.
Unfortunately the majority of the time the staff is very stressed, rude and you struggle to get their attention if you have a need or question. When you do get a response its feels as though they are annoyed with you. Even if you're just asking for a bag or straw. I've even noticed times where the barista will snap at the cashier.
Granted, this is a very busy Starbucks due to its location and it seems as though they are often grossly understaffed for the volume they take on, so I do understand their frustration. There also seems to be a complete lack of management supervision or assistance.
I also notice that they often 86 items on the app despite them being in stock. I know they 86 items to keep up with low inventory during busy times but there have been times where almost every single menu item was 86d and then you go in to the store and there are plenty left of the item you wanted to order.
My latest order, I waited paitently almost 30 minutes for a basic caramel macchaito. After waiting for so long I started to get concerned that my order was never received or might have been grabbed by another customer. I saw other orders with later time stamps than mine, coming and going. So I tried to get someone's attention to confirm that they did in fact have my order.
Without even asking the name of my order the barista snapped that they were backed up. I have come on days that were much more busy and have never waited that long for my order.
Again, I have no issue with waiting since I know they are busy but this was excessive and did not warrant an attitude.
During my wait I also observed the other barista on cold drinks make mistakes on peoples orders about 5 times that needed to be corrected and slowed the process as well. On the bright side, she responded, apologized fixed the drinks with a positive attitude so I commend her for that. Everytime I go there are different staff members so I believe they have an incredibly high staff turn over rate and there is definitely a reason for that. Lack of management, high stress, poor working conditions etc etc.who knows. They might also share staff with other Starbucks locations.
On a positive note, the quality and taste of the drinks and food is always good and consistent and they keep everything clean despite the amount of tourist coming in and out. When the service is good its Awesome! I went a few days prior and the male barista was bright, friendly, and thanked all the customers coming and going while also getting orders out in a timely manner. My drink was perfect and my sandwich was hot and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised.
But honestly despite all the inconsistency with this location, I'll keep going. Gregory's up the street drinks are not good so Starbucks will continue to get my business until something better comes along.
I hope to see improvement but after all these years I know that's highly unlikely.

Quaint and cozy corner locale, serving up the usual menu items and offering unique barista-invented concoctions to sample, and served by quirky and friendly staff.

Great Starbucks in downtown DC, the line moves fast, they serve you well, and they make drinks just the way you ask.

It's a Starbucks for sure. They're all the same. You know what you're getting here~ you're getting ripped off big time but sometimes you gotta let it happen.
