Sudhouse DC reviews
17This bar changed my life. The manager Allison is cool, but the bartender, Laura, is one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. Always knows what I want to drink and isn’t loud at all! Alfredo the bar back is quite possibly the greatest at his craft of all time and always knows what to do in every situation. I hope he invites me to his wedding!
This was my first time coming here and I felt very welcomed. The bartender Fredo was a delight to talk to! Katie was the kindest bartender I have encountered in the greater DC area. I will definitely be back! A place where people are friendly and the atmosphere is exactly where I wanted to be.
Nice bar in the DC area. It has great specials, food was real good, and the bartenders were nice. It's probably the best bar/sports bar for the price in the area.
I'm a wings guy and these are quality wings. They must bread the wings a bit, but I love it because it soaks up the Buffalo sauce some more. The Buffalo sauce is real good as well, a good blend of hot sauce/butter/whatever else they use. My wife got the chorizo quesadilla and it was pretty good as well. Nice char and grill marks, chorizo made it a bit greasy but that's expected. Overall great meal.
Definitely would recommend as a neighborhood bar!
Happy hour is deceiving. Not a $5 draft like it says outside on the sign. It was $11. This must be DC.
Terrific Happy Hour prices and daily specials.
And they have space upstairs to host group parties
I've come here quite frequently for happy hour since I moved to the DMV, during the summer!
Good food & drinks for affordable prices.
Sudhouse was the perfect spot for my club to meet on a Tuesday after work. We sat on the middle level which fit our group of 5 well. The food came super fast and there was great happy hour deals. Allie, the manager, was so nice and accommodating of our group! Looking forward to coming back.
Went here for a work event this week and most of the appetizers for happy hour were dry and overcooked or cold. The wings and the chicken sliders were ok but based on my experience at the work event, I wouldn't come back to this bar.
We booked the top floor private event space and could not have been happier with the results. The bartender was super kind, the space was beautiful and large (and extremely affordable - if only requires a $50 cleaning fee + a $200 tip to the bartender which shrinks based on how much you tip on drinks through the night. Our guests ended up collectively tipping $200 so we only paid $50 for the whole night!). Definitely recommend for your events!
Great place to start an evening on U Street with good pop/dance music and shockingly affordable drinks ($5 or $6 for a rails mix drink). The drink menu is crazy thorough in that it actually lists the price of EVERYTHING. This was nice, considering that at most bars you don't know how much you paid for something like a rum and coke until you get the bill.
Definitely earned a spot on our "certified fun bar" list.
I was here Halloween weekend on a bar crawl and this place was packed. Too packed. They were at capacity and had to stagger letting people in. I know some people like that but I did not. My friends and I got our drinks and stayed in the outside area. I am curious what this place is like on a regular night.
Shout out to Sudhouse for making my 30th birthday such a blast! I really cannot thank them enough for being so responsive and being such a huge part to the success of my event! I’d highly recommend them!
Awesome bar with one of the best happy hour deals in DC! Great service and atmosphere!
the even have a clubhouse with the best free private rooms available to rent.
Happy hour until 8 PM, solid daily specials for Monday-Thursday, and pretty cheap alcohol. I don't know if there's truly a Dive Bar on the 14th/U corridor but Sudhouse definitely scratches that itch. I've ordered food here often and it's pretty solid too (especially their wings). It's usually easy to get a seat here on a weekday night and the bartenders are chill too.
It deserves three stars for the overpriced cocktails in a plastic cup, one star added for Superior staff.
Hosted a small party on the mezzanine and had such a wonderful experience from reservation to execution. Food and drinks were great, staff were responsive and helpful. Had never been here before- but booked based on positive reviews online, ease of reservation experience, and metro accessibility. Will definitely be back!
