The hotel is a bit out of date. No elevators or no TV (which I knew prior). My room was spacious however, I had no bathroom door and the shower had no curtain or anything to help the water not splash all over the floor. Check in was great. The woman was sweet and later I talked to a young man who helped me find something to eat (it was late). The checkout woman wasn’t rude but wasn’t that friendly either. Overall, if you like that Stephan King creepy hotel feel, this is the place for you. Oh, the location is exactly where you want to be if you plan on sightseeing and there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.

Looks nice and cozy. Nice little café outside. Very helpful receptionist and on a very quiet street. No traffic noise. I was walking by as I was lost. I never saw a room nor ate there. I can imagine it may not be the cheapest but it is in a great location.

This place was very nice and had a good vibe. Made reservations for 12: 45p. I arrived 15min sooner and was immediately seated. Food was great! Great presentation.

A quick sampling of reviews suggested to me that all reviewers were somewhat accurate, inasmuch as this may not be a hotel for everyone.
It is not exactly from the gilded age, but it is from another age regarding excellent service, and the preservation of a fascinating antique building in a superb location.
The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth, has old furnishings, and somewhat challenging bathtubs. Our room was spotless.
Breakfast coffee, juice, scones, and a sugared donut were of superior quality.
The room tariff was modest, and the convenient in/out parking garage is modestly priced.
It is what the French would call a "Hotel de Charme"

The Tabard Inn was absolutely fantastic! It had such an amazing and unique flavor to it that the online pictures definitely don't give it the justice as it deserves. I recently stayed there while in Washington D. C.without any knowledge of the area or previous experience with the establishment. This is definitely a niche hotel that's probably not for everyone. There are NO ELEVATORS and there are also NO TV's in the rooms which for me was really great! The no-elevator situation is really not bad at all as the stairwells have character and there really are only two floors with stairwells which are structurally broken apart pretty well with landings (not your standard hotel stairwells for sure). I stayed in the room that appears to have black walls in the online pictures. The interior had several antique-esque pieces which added to the overall uniqueness relative to your standard cookie-cutter hotels. The bathroom had a claw bathtub which stood in an open space with no curtains in the bathroom area - again, great touch. The staff were wonderful from the moment I checked in. They were also extremely accommodating when I requested a late check out on the day of my departure for the airport later in the afternoon and offered this as a complimentary extension for my stay when I finally did check out. They had an amazing brunch on Saturday which was really very well attended by the locals which is a true testament that the quality of the Tabard Inn is well respected by the locals. In addition to the rest of the staff that I engaged with, the bar keep (I believe Jose) was fantastic and gave me a history lesson on the Tabard Inn and how this employee-owned establishment operates; more so as a collaborative effort and partnership cross-functionally to increase efficiency in customer satisfaction. He and the manager did highlight that the original owner has/had at least one similar hotel out of state (could be more than one in multiple states). I'll definitely include that in my travel plans but in the interim, I'll certainly travel back to the Tabard Inn during my next trips to the Washington D. C.area and get to experience the other equally unique rooms.
The area surrounding the Tabard Inn had plenty to offer particularly given the post-covid global experience (s). The restaurants and other public spaces were open and offered appropriately modified environments to allow folks to enjoy the city both indoors and outdoors. Great area for picturesque walks, jogs, runs, etc. There are also gyms in the vicinity and I was stoked to find out there was an L. A. Fitness within jogging distance from the Tabard which I was able to take advantage of - albeit getting lost a few times due to delayed phone sync which added great value to the afternoon work-out session ;).

Overall, fantastic experience and certainly KUDOS to the Tabard Inn for going well above in exceeding my expectations.

Great quaint spot in the heart of Dupont. Good ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. I truly enjoyed my brunch experience here and highly recommend!

I especially love the that Tabard is Employee Owned!

Have been to the Tabard Inn several times, but only for brunch and/or drinks. Prices are regular for the DC area, drinks are good but nothing to write home about, on the other hand brunch food is excellent and the small patio in the back is perfect in warm weather. I strongly encourage going at least once for brunch!

Tabard Inn is a lovely little bar by DuPont Circle. I've been there a handful of times for drinks and always had incredible service. A relaxing and sophisticated setting with a beautiful outdoor patio.

Great atmosphere, great service though the meal I ordered was very small. I love the decor! Meal was very tasty but small.

If you’re into unique spots this is it. Staff was laid back but was there to assist if needed. The lounge area was dark and cozy, the drinks were strong, and the food was amazing - we only had breakfast but if lunch and dinner was anything like what we had you would not be disappointed. Our room itself was adorable. The whole Inn was remodeled but kept its old feel to it. My dad and I were very impressed with the spot.

This is my go to spot to stay at when I am in DC. Quirky and unique. Very comfortable beds (memory foam mattress), staff that feels like family. And of course the best brunch in DC.

Great atmosphere. Old place with its history. Good food. Bar with fireplace and live cool jazz. Don't forget to book in advance.

Wasn't anything special, some of the food was cold, most of it warm. Took a very long time to get drinks. Wildly Overpriced. Staff was nice. Crowded. Note I ONLY experienced their Easter Buffet and have no opinion on any other feature offered by the establishment.

The staff were really friendly but the food was honestly bad. The $22 spring risotto was very poorly done. They used long grain rice rather than the arborio rice one would expect for risotto. Overall, the risotto was completely bland. The $29 short rib special was surprisingly tough for a dish that's meant to be slow cooked, but the flavors were ok. It's just overpriced for totally subpar food. Won't be returning.

Quaint, historically decorated, attached to their hotel. We were there for brunch. Food was good and prices reasonable for DC. The main dining room is tight and it was rather loud that day. The other problem for me is they had the door to the patio open, and the weather had turned cold and damp which meant I was close to freezing. The Latino music at the bar didn't go with the setting.

Wonderful experience. Greeted right away, sat down quickly. Attentive waitstaff, very helpful. Delicious desserts, amazing cocktails. The atmosphere and decor is cliche in a hipster way - but it's actually authentic, and the building has so much history. It's a great place.

We had such a lovely dinner here during our honeymoon. We had reservations on 4/26 at 5: 30 pm. I wish I could remember the name of our server so I could mention her. She was lovely, attentive, and made great food and wine recommendations. The pork chops melted in my mouth and the house made strawberry digestif at the end of the meal was delicious. What a wonderful memory we made!

We went for a work lunch and sat in the patio. It was really cute, and waiters were friendly. Wish the menu was bigger though! The kabob i got was good. Bread was ok
