We had the most enjoyable dinner in recent memory. That says a lot since we eat out at least once or twice a week. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, like what fine dining restaurants should be but becoming increasingly rare. I would characterize the food as tasty and adventurous. The chef came up with different way to challenge our taste buds, and we liked them mostly. We were told that the chef came from CA, and that explains the Asian influence in the cooking. We also enjoyed the ambiance and lighting of the dining room, perfect for a date night.

Just lovely. Everything about this cozy little nook to have a fancy cocktail is lovely. Staff was kind and efficient. Drinks were tasty. Atmosphere divine. Next time I’m staying for dinner!

Grabbed drinks on a weekend afternoon! So cozy with the fireplace, drinks were great and service was good also. Loved the vibes! We will be back

Reservations mean nothing. We waited 30 minutes to be seated when more than half of the tables were empty. It was strange.

A nice, generally quiet dining atmosphere. But they tried to seat my grandmother where she’d have to walk up steps. And then they tried to seat her near a door that was super cold when it opened. However they did accommodate us when we alerted them to our discomfort. The food was very good all around and we left satisfied.

Both the space and the menu at the Tabard Inn are a quirky mix of history and eclectic whimsy. Be prepared for lots of little surprises, and some spice in the food. Inside there is a wood burning fireplace, outside a dining patio…which to choose? The staff is very warm friendly either way. Highly recommended.

Only OK. Food is not that great. The ambiance is lovely but for how expensive this place is, we all came away feeling pretty lackluster about our meals. You know it’s bad when people are asking for salt on their food to give it more flavor. Save this place for a visit to the bar only. There’s were 6 of us and no one was impressed.yikes!

Lovely, warm environment with excellent service. Octopus appetizer was creative and tasty. Rest of the meal very good.

Artsy and cute, but they have ZERO keto-friendly options. When I asked whether their cook could make something or customize anything on their menu to make it keto-friendly, the waitress did not seem to know. We ordered a charcuterie board, which was about $24, but the amount of items on it was very small and limited (worse than they used to have), and definitely not worth $24.

The Tabar Inn is a lovely place to dine; very vintage and eclectic. The decor is inviting and I appreciate the partitions between tables for distance. Service was slow. We waited for about 7 minutes before anyone finally noticed we were seated and she didn't apologize. She only came back once to check-in on us after we sent one of the plates back because it was over cooked.

The food: We ordered the eggs benedict and they were served as hard eggs. It turns out they don't always get the dish right. I ordered the egg white and they served me someone else's egg dish. The only thing we liked tremendously was the berries and the homemade scone. Overall, its just okay, not as a great as I would have expected for the price.

A huge disappointment! I remembered so differently. I used go there for brunch often after a mas @ ST. Michael. I have not been there for years, and the food quality went down to a hxxx! My hash brown was horrid! Onion was raw, and my egg came with a piece of shell. I was so embarrassed to recommend a brunch there. My friends from UK were OK with thur foods, but they are kind and civilized ppl. Never going back there ever again. Service was good, and the garden was still nice.

Service was some of the best we've ever had. As were the oysters. Ambience was delightful too.

Step back in time at this cozy hotel restaurant.
Bar, more like a lounge, quiet main room, what else do you need to have a nice evening? A service? , yes, decent service was. A food? A food could be better) But soup of the day and halibut were very tasty. So, if you are tired of the hustle and bustle, then this is the place for you

I had dinner here with my partner for my birthday celebration and it was impeccable.
I was greeted with a lovely birthday card then seated. Our waiter was so helpful and attentive. When the kitchen forgot an item (we didn’t notice) for our oysters he noticed and fixed it. I appreciated him saying something even though we didn’t notice. The excellent service continued with a delicious dinner. The waiter brought out glasses of complimentary champagne for my birthday. It was so crisp and delicious! We ordered dessert and the waiter brought out complimentary cookies that the chef made. I can honestly say this was one of my best birthday dinners. I’m so glad we chose the Tabard Inn for this special dinner. As for the food, the menu has some special delights that I wouldn’t think would work, but they do. I hope to come back to DC and dine here again.

On a recent vacation to DC. Had dinner at Tabard Inn. The service was outstanding and the whole staff was extremely courteous. I had the Spring risotto and excellent tuna appetizer. Dinner was complete with a delicious chocolate brownie dessert with coconut. Recommended to all.
