Taberna del Alabardero reviews
13Found this delicious Spanish food around our hotel. Travel with my daughter to celebrate her graduation from junior high to the States and the waiter is very friendly. The smells transported me back to Spain. Good service and love to re-visit this week.
We had the Seafood Paella for a Father’s Day Brunch in DC. It was amazing. Thank you for the start of a monumental day in DC.
My spouse and I celebrated our 17th anniversary at La Taberna, and we were treated like royalty. There was a beautiful heart-shaped decoration made with red rose petals on the white tablecloth and two glasses of champagne. After lunch we had a plate of cookies and a mini muffin with a candle, the words "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate. The service was excellent and all the tapas delicious! Victor and all of the staff were very respectful and sweet. We'll be back!
Great atmosphere and service, but the paella was lacking (and by that I mean the socarrat was missing)
Loved this place, awesome ambience, quite traditional look of the restaurant. Sangrila was irresistible, had multiple pitchers. Great selection of wines. Food was too good. Pulpo a La Gallega was yummy, both shrimp n chicken ones were yummy. They have few veggie options though.
We sat at the bar tables and shared an appetizer and entrée during Happy Hour!
Great food and service!
I am from Spain and the food was the closest to a high end restaurant in Spain. I loved that there was morcilla de arroz.
I’m giving them 2 starts just because the service was great, but other than that, The paella wasn’t good, some of the mussels were very bad, and it changed the taste of the whole paella, we left half of the paella because it did not taste good and we ended paying $100. Not worth it for this paella.
Decent food, but service was not that professional. Messed up our order, but gave as a few items for free
Everything we had here was good. This was the first time coming to the restaurant and definitely not the last.
UPDATE: So we used a special from Travelzoo. This gave us an opportunity to try many things in the tapas area and the paella. I have done this twice now and I am never disappointed. The service is A+. I will be going back again as it is one of my favorite restaurants.
Area is beautiful and service was great. I had the white sangria and paella. Both were mediocre at best.
Enjoyed a wide variety of foods. Gambas, pulpo, morcia, Fideuá and more. Wine selection is fantastic but would love Peñafalcon winery to be added.
Wonderful experience! Decoration, atmosphere, service, food… everything perfect and authentically Spanish. Very good quality of products and kitchen.
