TAKODA, Washington DC

The brunch is super affordable and tastes delicious. My favorite was the chicken biscuits that gravy was amazing. For the price and the amount of food you get, you really can't beat this brunch anywhere

It was okay. There were lots of flies flying around but they were respectful. They knew better than to harass us on try to land on our food. They kept a respectful distance-to my surprise.

When my husband and I arrived, the bartender told us all the empty tables where we wanted to sit were reserved. But other folks w/out reservations came in and sat where they wanted. I asked the bartender why he told us we couldn't choose our seats and allowed others to chose theirs and he said they told him they would move if the ppl w/reservations showed up. So, my husband and I did the same.

You have to go to the bar to order your food and drinks. Busboys do clear the table, but no waiters or waitresses take your order.

The food was basic. It was good but not fantastic.

The bar stool and high table situation was uncomfortable.nowhere to plant your feet but on the lower chair bar behind your heels, which is uncomfortable after a few minutes. Otherwise, your feet will dangle in front of you, as there is no where to plant your feet under the high table.

Overall, it was a nice outing. Ppl were out enjoying themselves and it was nice to be out of the house.

The only saving grace about my experience was the food l. Shout out to the BOH, they are killing it. The service was awful. The first point of contact was a gentleman who sat us and wiped down the table before we sat dow. We were then passed up by the two bartenders several times. It took 7 minutes and direct eye contact for one of the them to get to our table. We were told that bottom less wasn’t an option because it was 2: 32. I explained to him that we were sitting here waiting for one of them to come over but I wasn’t going to fight him on that. After our food arrived, no one came over to check on us to see if we needed drinks. It was a mess. I’m fully aware that Takoda will live on and my plight doesn’t mean much but employees attitudes make or break businesses.

Good vibes, great drinks, fast service. Really enjoyed my first time going out after getting vaccinated and the crowd was electric.

There was a minor issue with the bill, but the management was quick to help out and ensured it was handled properly.

Can't wait to go back!

Worst experience I ever had. Our server Ramon spoke to us once, when taking our order. Never saw him again. Someone else brought us our food and another person brought us our check after she had stopped to ask if we were okay. The food was great but unfortunately I can’t recommend this place to friends.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday shortly after they opened for the day. Service could have been improved but it wasn't bad. Food was OK, standard fare that hasn't left me eager to go back for more.

Great upstairs space which is where I sat and was half the reason I selected this place. Might be better just to go here for drinks and avoid the food unless you're really hungry.

Tried most of the appetizers and they were all amazing. Staff was super friendly and the drinks were great.

Waitresses 200% not concerned with the customer. Worst customer service in the District. So disappointing for a speakeasy.

Excellent large space, nice view (bar on top floor with balcony, open-air environment possible with heaters), bartenders are quick and friendly - and diverse drink selection (great beers and unique mixed drinks).

Bad bar service staff was somewhat rude and not very organized food was overpriced for average tasting average quality options

I’ve gone to eat here once. The food here is generally overpriced and not really memorable. The rooftop bar on the other hand, is quite good. The drinks aren’t necessarily remarkable the vibe is good and it’s nice to have open air when the weather is good. There’s a lot of room upstairs so I’ve never felt particularly crowded whenever I’ve gone.

Great whiskey bar. Good selection of beer too. Also their Sunday brunch and bottomless mimosas are on point!

Great drinks, service, with a nicely lit and warm roof top during the winter months. Will definitely come back to try other menu items, and experience the roof top in warmer weather.

Good Beer garden specially to take out a date. The whiskey sour and Kentucky Mule are highly recommendable.

Nice deck overlooking the city. Deck floors EXTREMELY sticky from built up drinks that have been spilled and not cleaned. Had their Caribbean mule, not impressed. Overall, spacious and inviting.

Went on a not very busy Wednesday night. Service was fun and attentive and the Takoda burger was super good. Each member of our party got a different type of cheese, but the goat was my favorite. The Angry Shrimp were good, kinda like a tempura roll in flavor. The best thing, though, was the Mac and cheese. Not sure what kind of magic the chef is using, but daaaaaaaaaaaang is it good. He needs to put that stuff on everything.

Fried. Chicken. Waffle. The service has always been slow, but kind. A favorite amongst friends.

Went to a great birthday party at the rooftop bar. It's a great way to start the night before going to U street!

Was visiting DC and checked out this place. Great atmosphere and excellent beer selection. We also had a server named Tim who went above and beyond in making sure my friends and I were content. Next time I'm in DC I'll be back!

Always nice bar staff, great rooftop "beer garden, " maybe don't go for dinner but pre-dinner drinks is always a success!
