Teaism Dupont Circle reviews
20I LOVE the black milk tea here so much because I KNOW they use legit tea. However, because I love you, I need to tell you: please please please either switch your tapioca pearl supply or readjust the way you cook the pearls. They are way tooooooo soft. The pearls need to be *chewy*, not soft. Trust me, I have an extensive knowledge of boba. Unless you actually intentionally want your boba to be soft (which is not the typical form of boba), please consider changing the pearls. I get the drink a few times a week and look forward to finally sitting down soon!
Teaism offers the rare combination of being a great spot both for solo work/play and for a date or hang spot for friend all while maintaining its super chill vibes. Their tea selection is through the roof diverse and their food looks delicious though admittedly I didn't eat any myself. They have some seating upstairs that could work for groups, limited bar style seating downstairs, and now a streatery for small groups. All in all a treat that I'd definitely be back to!
Love this place for consistently fresh, hearty, healthy meals. My favorites are the salmon sandwich, vegan burger, and salmon bento - lots of food for very affordable prices. I’m no tea expert but I love their iced matcha and the chai. And lastly… GET AN OAT COOKIE!
One of my favorite spots for solo meals or studying/reading a book upstairs. Their chai is the best I've had in DC.
Went there last weekend. The price was awful for a plain cup of tea. My friend's tea was burnt, he waited over ten minutes before trying to drink it and when he tried to speak to the staff that he thought maybe their water was set too high.the staff was rude and flippant. They exchanged it for a new cup and it was clearly not even close in temperature to the previous one. I'll not be returning.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area! Amazing place! Wonderful food and great atmosphere! Very recommend
The berry tea is perfect on a cold winter day. Love that you can add boba to any tea. Cute outdoor area with lots of seating.
Want tea, they have it all. Cold drinks too and a great lunch menu, fairly priced for the location. Gets busy in the morning and lunch time weekdays. Friendly, expedient staff.
Great lunch spot. We had the vegetable curry and chicken salad. Both were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was great and our food came out pretty fast. There is bar type seating on the lower main level and more tables upstairs.
If you’re coming here for good authentic bubble tea, you will be disappointed. The thing tastes like sugar water milk with no tea flavor and very soggy bubbles. I managed to drink half of it and threw out the rest. The food is OK, though a little overpriced for what you get.
Cool Asian themed tea place with lots of options for tea and small Asian plates! Nice seating areas upstairs and on the first floor.
Usually Teaism is the only place I trust to make decent tea (unless I make it myself). Very disappointed with both the incredibly weak chai and assam tea I ordered from Teaism today. More like tea-flavored water. Yes, the restaurant was very busy, but please, if it takes a couple of minutes to brew a decent tea, then take the couple of minutes and do it right, no matter how busy you are. I'll wait.
Sigh, I went home and made a strong black tea for myself.
Friendly staff. It’s located on a side street near Dupont. Only one bathroom on the first floor.
Such a great place for bunch or just tea. They have a nice selection of both food and tea, including great bubble tea. There's not much room for a big group, but that makes it perfect for an intimate date or meeting with friends. They also have some nice sustainable practices, including a couple of menu items devoted to reducing food waste and a place to refill your water bottles.
I used to hang out at this place all the time, and just went back for the first time in ages. Quality product and helpful staff, but the place could seriously use a deep clean. I know they're going for a "rustic" teahouse vibe, but it's starting to shade into "shabby. "
Staff was very helpful in explaining the food and the teas. I'm not a tea person but the tea was great. Vegan food options were delicious! Nice, casual atmosphere and interesting fellow patrons. The seating upstairs is tight but we didn't mind eavesdropping and then chatting a bit ;)
Came here with a friend and shared great Asian fusion food over an intimate conversation. Very casual and cozy atmosphere. Great tea
I went there again! So creative concept and great vegetarian options. Additionally, tea lovers - must try!
Our tea was properly steeped and at the right temp.they steep the tea for you and do not let you keep the leaves for a second steeping.a 16oz pot of tea runs you around $5.many teas to choose from, all high quality.
I love to go here for any meal. If fragrance is your favorite aspect of flavor, you will too. Plus they have real actual from-a-tree maple syrup for their french toast! I have found several new favorite tea varieties here.
