The Bakers' Lounge, Washington DC

Met the owner Lamont Henderson. He's always pushing people in our apartment building to go to this bakery. One if these days will try some pastries and cakes.

I went to this establishment today to pick up an door dash order for a customer.upon arrival the door to the establishment was locked. I knocked on the door.the owner (An black lady) came to the door and opened it. I then told her the name of the order.she stated she didn't know an order with that name. I then showed her my phone with the order information.she then said "oh". She then went on to tell me that she didn't like how I knocked on the door, and I asked how did I knock? She then started yelling and screaming telling me to get out and refused to give me the order. I then called the customer to explain what was happening.while doing so the owner was yelling and screaming at me, while I was on the phone with the customer.the customer apologized and asked me to leave and said I didn't deserve to be treated like that. I then told the owner that she lost a customer.she yelled and said "that's why your doing door dash! ". She also stated that she was not African American even tho she appeared to be. Very unprofessional

The Baker’s Lounge has amazing cakes and pastries. I've been supporting for years, and you're missing out if you haven't tried one of Catherine's desserts.

Tasty delicious treats. I wanted to try everything. And the owner is very nice.

Everything was dry. Maybe because I ordered later on evening. Best part was the string wrapped around the box. My cat enjoyed that.

This little shop is mighty, and its owner Catherine is so lovely! GBBO fans will be delighted that, yes, THIS is the place where you can find a cherry bakewell (#IYKYK). Be sure to ask if there are any savory offerings in the back - I recently had a terrific mushroom and spinach tart that convinces me that I should just buy whatever savory offering is on deck.

I can't wait till afternoon tea service is available. I'll definitely be there.

We needed a cake for a special dinner and dropped by to see what this place had to offer. Our timing was impeccable. A wonderfully moist cake was ready to go. Vanilla cake with vanilla bean butter cream icing, adorned with white chocolate dipped strawberries and Christmas sprinkles!

We got lucky.check this place out for bakery treats but maybe order in advance.
