The worst service I’ve ever seen. Especially for the boutique hotel and for the name they are claiming. I wonder how they host royalties, celebraties, vips? ! No concierge services, front desk person is useless when it comes to find the solutions.i came up with bunch of solutions to the case, yet still no help. As if they are ignoring you on purpose.

The Bar was amazing! Service, drinks, and the champagne tradition.
Stephane is the most professional waiter, Alexander most friendly and cheering manager.
Great experience, thanks for everyone's hard work that seems spotless!

This is for afternoon tea only.
I reserved tea for (3) weeks in advance at 1pm for a birthday celebration while we were in DC from Charlotte visiting my AU college student. I called and confirmed on Saturday (the day before) and I was very impressed that they called ahead to make sure we had no food allergies. It was monumentally disappointing to receive a message the day of tea at 10: 45am that they needed to move our reserved and confirmed tea time an hour later or cancel our tea. Since we had a 5pm flight departure, it was not possible for us and when I called to plead that we had no flexibility and we wouldn't be able to make the adjusted time it would need to be at our 1pm time or canceled, I simply received an email that they had canceled. This was planned to be a highlight of our trip and though I understand the staffing issues of today, the message said they just overbooked so were canceling was dismissive and a special scheduled celebration turned into a scone from the Corner Bakery. SO DISAPPOINTED

They now have a house car from 730 to 930am and 530 to 730pm Monday through Friday that will drive you where you need to go. The driver they have Alvin is fantastic very friendly as the rest of the people who work there.

The staff, food and bar were amazing. The only problem was the shower. We had to use a stepper to get into the tub and shower there. It was really slipper and very unsafe. Shower also had no pressure.

Everything else was great and we loved all the staff. Very helpful

One of the classiest and most stunning hotel properties in DC.

I recommend holding your next event in their ballroom.

They provide absolutely poor service focused on as many dollars they can extract from the customer. The outcome for the customers they don’t care about. Avoid.

When it comes to 5-star service and amenities, the St. Regis is a difficult chain to beat. The location in the heart of Washington D. C.lives up to that reputation and more.

The location, as stated, is utterly unbeatable. Located just steps off Lafayette Square the White House is within sighting distance. The monuments and the museums are just a quick breezy walk down 15th. Vibrant and exciting Dupont is mere blocks away, and the ritzy City Center is well within walking distance as well.

The distinct sense of royal luxury follows you from the lobby into the rooms themselves. The rooms are delightful; the bed is divine. This is apparently the hotel most frequented by renowned traveler the Queen of England, and for good reason. It definitely looks like the kind of place fit for royalty. Don't forget to swing by the lobby for the 6pm ceremonial champagne opening for a free glass! Also book in advance if you want to do the high tea (vastly recommend!) it gets filled quickly.

In my opinion, a 5-star rating isn't just amenities, bed quality and architecture (although the hotel was featured in architectural digest for good reason!) but service as well. Everyone was polite and friendly. Front desk was especially helpful and amicable - I can't thank Adrian enough, who was so nice and helpful and made my stay just wonderful!

*This review is for afternoon tea only.

Our visit was in June for my birthday. My husband made a reservation few weeks in advance after seeing a fellow dog mom visit with her dog. We were under the impression that this hotel was very dog friendly and had separate dog menu which seemed to be the case with a fellow dog mom's experience. The very first time I was put off was when we called for reservation. We let the person know that we will be bringing our dog. She responded that was okay as long as the dog doesn't bark. I said okay but found her response to be very strange. For a dog friendly hotel, you don't allow dogs that bark? Lol I didn't have a big issue as our dog happens to be on the quiet side but still felt annoyed with her response.

On the day of the visit, we were seated right away and our server was attentive. Our White House white chocolate decor was underwhelming compared to the display they have available during the cherry blossom tea. The food and dessert was also a bit underwhelming. Some items tasted a bit soggy too.

There was a bit of wait to pay for valet as other hotel patrons were in line. Also the bathroom is quiet a hike. I don't recommend afternoon tea here unless it's during the cherry blossom time!

Its only for the whimsy 360 restaurant not the hotel. I came from the nyc to experience this restaurant and I did book reservation one week in advance, but they canceled the reservation on the dinner day said they have maintenance. So I came all the way from nyc but cannot get the dinner while I’m in dc even I have reservation.

You won’t find a bigger fan of the St. Regis brand than me. That said, besides the location and the historical nature of the hotel - this place doesn’t meet the standard of a St. Regis.

Rooms are tired. Mattress is akin to a Fairfield Inn. Both my wife and I woke up with bites all over our ankles, which we presume to be bed bugs.

I hope St. Regis and Marriott put some dollars into this place to bring it up to the standard I am used to in Aspen, Toronto, and Mexico City.

We had a fantastic experience at the St. Regis. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

I was really looking forward to the afternoon high tea with my girls. What a huge disappointment! The service was bad! They do not cater to kids at all. We were basically seated, served and left alone. No one took the time to explain what the offering was, or which cake was which president's favorite dessert, or asked if we had food allergies or re-served us tea when the cups were emptied. The cherry on top was when I walked to the server to ask for empty plates and was asked to wait and was given the plates that I brought back to the table myself! I have never seen this before. Any half decent server would have checked on us and if asked would have told me to go back to my seat and would bring the plates to the table. I was shocked and bummed. This is not at all the afternoon high tea experience you should get. There was no attention to detail and the girls didn't enjoy their time at all. It was not worth my time or my money. I will never ever do this again at the St. Regis.

It was just ok. All the effort into the lobby and the bar/restaurant. Rooms left quite a bit to be desired at this level. Service was spotty at best. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't stay again

I went to the St. Regis for the Whimsy dining experience. It was absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing.

Really poor. After me and my son did reservation for three nights our last night coming back to our room our door didn't open. We went to the lobby only to let me know that my credit card never went thru and throw us out to the street in the middle of the night. This is unexcused went my son is 12 years old. First of all it wasn't my fault this never have happened to us before. Went doing the reservation the girl who work there told me everything was great that my card pay for three nights and she never gave me no receipt or a email confirmation. They have no heart throwing a child out on the street in the name of money. I call the police and the receptionist lie saying that they was calling me since I arrive to the room. Please for the love of children don't stay in this hotel. Also they have this red curtains that are scary. Please stay in the Hilton hotel across they have the same rooms and is beautiful with great staff. If the managers are reading this shame on you if you have children.

St. Regis is one of my dream hotel which I always put it on my top lists, but I am disappointed about it in DC. The lobby is always beautiful and elegant, but our suite is kind of standard like a three star hotel, fruits are not clean, even with dust, food is so so. Nothing was surprised. It’s not really worth over $1000.00 a night.

I attended the Whimsy event on April 1. Pros and cons below:
Pros:
Wine was good. We ordered a Napa cab so it was costly.
Ambiance was decent.
The best part was their waiters who were super friendly and hospitable.

Cons:
I was told parking would be validated prior to attending the event. On the day of they refused. We spent upwards of $600 and they wouldn’t validate the parking.

Food was ok. I didn’t feel that great later at night.

The princess thing was childish, hilarious, and unnecessary. Adults attend these kinds of events not kids.

Overall not worth the money they charged us.
