Counselor Thriveworks Counseling reviews
19 This review is for Nitika Gupta. She is a thorough professional in all aspects of being a therapist and there are many reasons why her clients love her.
Nitika is a deeply empathetic listener and also has very sensible and grounded reasoning. These are her biggest strengths. Talking to her makes me feel truly heard and she's great at helping me realize my own strengths and biases.
During my post partum phase Nitika suggested various exercises to help with anxiety and they were effective but also made feel lees lonely and reassured. Her thorough knowledge of psychology has often shed light on my own problems from a different perspective. This understanding goes a long way in long-term healing patterns and behavior.
Nitika is never pushy and truly invested in her clients progress. She is especially adept at understanding the nuances of multi-cultural families so I especially recommend her for that.
She creates a positive, supportive environment and her clients all love working with her.
After having worked with multiple counselors over the past two years, and struggling to find a good fit, I am so pleased to be working with the highly regarded Dr. Regina Lawson. Dr. Lawson is not only a brilliant clinician, but also a thoughtful listener and counselor. In particular, I appreciate Dr. Lawson's expertise in providing tools and expert insight to ensure that our sessions are productive, and that after a session I walk away knowing I have tools in my arsenal to ensure success. I have found that many counselors serve as listeners, but do not help navigate or provide the necessary tools to facilitate continued personal development. Dr. Lawson is also thoughtful and kind, but cares about the progress of her clients towards their personal goals, something I value a lot. Dr. Lawson offers both counseling to address mental health and career support. I am endlessly grateful for the work we have done so far over the past 6 months, and look forward to learning new tools to continue on my journey if self growth.
Additionally, Thriveworks provides an essential and easily accessible counseling service for the D. C.metro area, which is particularly critical in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They offer a range of accessible tele-counceling services that allow me to continue receiving services remotely.
My stars are for Nitika Gupta- a highly skilled and knowledgeable therapist. Her strong knowledge base, methodical approach, emphasis on ethical practice, openness, and nonjudgmental stance ensure that she provides highly effective therapeutic care to her clients. Nitika believes in client- centered care, and employs a range of eclectic modalities in order to address client goals. I find her to be very empathetic, warm, and receptive. I would highly recommend Nitika as a therapist.
I would choose to work with Emily Simonian every time. She is wise beyond her years, intuitive, and thoughtful in her methods and approach. I highly recommend Emily and Thriveworks Counseling!
I give five stars to Nitika Gupta, a highly skilled therapist. I know her in the capacity of colleague and have found her knowledge and insight invaluable to my practice. Nitika is a dedicated and well-informed therapist who brings compassion and mindfulness into each of her sessions. Her eclectic approach allows her to expertly navigate therapy session while being sensitive and informative. Nitika has the ability to navigate cultural nuances and complex issues such as race and gender with the compassion and patience it deserves. I highly recommend seeking her expertise.
Sam Schor has been helping me through challenging times for many years. He is very down to earth and understanding. He gives very straight forward advice. I 100% recomend his services.
Emily Simonian is a former colleague of mine. She was always sought after as an LMFT because of her experience and likability and I have no doubt that she continues to be at Thriveworks. I have had the pleasure of watching her develop her own theory of couples therapy, write psychoeducational curriculum, facilitate groups, and speak compassionately and eloquently both to clients and in public forums. She is up and coming in the field as a leader and a clinician.
Emily Simonian is very Professional and Personable. She explains herself well and makes me feel comfortable in n every conversation we have.
Extremely professional and effective, Therapist Emily S has given me the cognitive tools to help control my anxiety on a daily basis. I am grateful for her compassion, patience and knowledge.
Sam Schor has been my son’s therapist for two years. He is INCREDIBLE! He has connected with my son and established a relationship of mutual respect and teamwork. He is firm but compassionate. Sam has also supported and encouraged me throughout this process. He has validated my efforts and offers in home helps practices for me. Don’t continue to agonize.contact Sam Schor.
I had the opportunity to refer somebody to clinician Sam Schor and I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Sam’s ability to connect on a level that promotes compassion, motivation, a wonderful sense of humor and ultimately shift the mindset to hope and positivity. Kudos to Sam and Thriveworks!
I highly recommend this agency for its high quality mental health services. I would also specifically recommend Sam Schor as an outstanding clinician who is thoughtful, purposeful, and professional. He is also down to earth and easy to engage with, He helps you see that you have the power to reach your goals! Highly recommend Thriveworks!
Sam and I were colleagues in a school setting. I can vouch for his ability to quickly develop positive and strong therapeutic relationships with students/children. He is an excellent communicator that is very responsive to the needs of his clients and always follows through.
Sam Schor is passionate about his work with people. He listens in a way that is validating and reflective, and that helps with processing events and emotions. He is a fantastic therapist to both adults and children.
I have known Sam Schor personally for several years. His level of compassion and dedication is beyond reproach. I highly recommend his services.
I've had the opportunity to work with Dr. Regina Lawson as a professional colleague for the past year+. I have come to know her as a thoughtful and empathetic clinician. She is compassionate, always keeps her clients at the forefront of her work and is extremely relatable. In my professional opinion, all of these qualities allow her to be a strong and impactful therapist.
I chose Sam Schor as my son’s therapist because of Sam’s experience working in schools, and I’m very glad I did. Sam has a natural rapport with teenagers. He was able to get my son to trust him and open up to him in a way that my son’s previous therapist could not. If you’re looking for a therapist for a teen, Sam is a great choice (I’m sure he’s great for adults too, but my only experience is for my teenager).
I have known Sam Schor his entire life. He is reliable, dependable, respectful and a responsible human. I’m proud to call him my brother.
Sam Schor is the therapist for my 17 year-old son, and I am genuinely thrilled with my son’s progress. It wasn’t easy for us to find a therapist who is a good fit for our son, but Sam has patiently guided him through every step of his therapeutic process; Sam doesn’t rush him, but he appropriately encourages him to move beyond his perceived limits. My son trusts him completely. I couldn’t recommend Sam more highly for teens or children.
