Located on the GW campus, Tonic At Quigley’s is a great place to hang out with friends. They have an outdoor dining area, which isn’t huge, but is quite good. Food prices are affordable, and food here tastes good.

Disappointed about the recent change to no mac for brunch. We only come for the mac, tater tots, pizza, and drinks. The staff is wonderful but the food other than those mentioned above never tastes fresh.

Tots! The only problem with he food is that they served so much of it. Flavor and quality was top notch. Our server was delightful and engaging.

Very lively place.

Martinis are not very good, but all of the other drinks and bites were delicious.

Great prices considering the area.

Woman bartending runs a gratuity scheme: (1) She doesn't present the bill, (2) says the amount due, and (3) doesn't say gratuity included.

She did not present bill and just said it was $37.20. So I gave her $45 and requested receipt. Later I see a 20% tip was included in bill. She made out with 40%.

I presume that's why she didn't give me a bill when I first said I wanted to close out. But when I did ask for the paper bill-after paying-she oddly paused and looked closely at it. I presume she checked if the receipt DID show the automatic gratuity. She then knew her scheme was exposed.

One would think that the countless crime-investigation shows and true-crime podcasts would have taught her that all it takes is one mistake to be caught.

I expect many patrons don't request the bill, she doesn't provide one, and she doesn't mention the auto gratuity. Server name on check was J. B.but two women were bartending so not sure if JB took my order and the other bartender tricked me.

Bear in mind, the third-floor lounge was almost pitch-black making it hard to see one's hand, let alone a bill with a 20% tip line-item. Bartenders should point out the gratuity. The other two floors had adequate lighting.

She was greedy to engineer a 40% tip during stand-up comedy night at Tonic. Joke was on me, it seems. But we will see who gets the last laugh.

Aside from this, I enjoyed the curry vegetable dish. Wrapped utensils on table were convenient. Bathroom was clean but dated. Second-floor dining seemed to have pleasant ambiance. Benches outside front door are a nice touch.

Food-runner was conscientious. If anyone deserves an automatic tip or that 3% add-on, it would be him. I think he needs to scale two flights of stairs for each order. Something tells me he would be the one to decline and tell me the tip is included. I would promote him into the forthcoming open bartender position, should he want it.

Update: Woman bartender was so busy running her scheme that she forgot to return my credit card, which was held while the tab was open. Now I have to return to the scene of the crime.

As The Who would say: "We get on our knees and pray. We won't get fooled again. "

Reliable mainstay of the GWU and Foggy Bottom area catering to both students and federal workers. Upstairs and outside seating, booths, and tables. Fairly simple but all American menu.

Really great food here. We had the smoking pork belly, Cajun spring rolls, and fish tacos. Everything was great. We would definitely go back.

Nice bar with a good selection of different open beers.
But be careful when eating, the kitchen decides in which order the food comes to the table.

We ordered a starter and main course. The burgers came first, when I asked about the starters the starters came 5 minutes later without a word. When we asked the waitress again, we were told that the kitchen delivers the courses depending on the capacity and the situation.

Unfortunately, one course had to wait on the table; the burger would certainly have tasted better warm.
The waitress then simply avoided us and we were taken in turns by the rest of the crew without saying a word.
It's a shame, the restaurant otherwise made a good impression.

My guest and I wanted to sit on the patio facing 21st St NW. Nice day today. The front host said no tables were available. Half the patio tables remained empty during our entire meal inside the restaurant near the bar. What gives? Dishonesty is unacceptable.

Great experience! Food arrived quick and as expected. Courteous service. Clean bathroom and tables. I would happily return here while in Washington DC.

The dishes are very good and the welcome is pleasant.
Just the welcome of the lady who places customers at the table in the restaurant needs to be reviewed.

Nice place
Good food
Happy hour is interesting with all beers for 6$ and lower price on, a.o. The nachos that we had and it was great (meat, guacamole, chili sauce, jalapeños and black beans)
(unfortunately I didn't think of taking pictures)

Most servers are very nice

Very below average food and no service at all (order/pay on your phone and never talk to a server)

Tots are always a go to but why is there a 3.5% service fee? They say for supply chain issues, food costs, etc. But why can’t they just raise their prices? This is literally the cost of doing business. When you sit outside, you use a QR code to order if you want separate checks. When ordering everyone who uses the same QR code shows up on the same bill. You can separate it out but it’s kind of confusing unless you’ve been there before. The default setting when you pay is a 20% tip but on top of an automatic 20% tip. So unless you’re paying attention you can give them a 40% tip without realizing. It may not be intentional but it feels incredibly deceptive. Either change the app or warn people.

Stopped here after walking all the way from Union Station. I was supposed to take a picture of my beautiful eggs Benedict and tater tots but I took one bite and immediately lost all focus on anything that wasn’t food. Our server was lovely and the food options all sounded incredible. I will have to come back to try the totchos!

Great for groups with allergies.

Known for its tater tots, once you venture beyond those fried morsels it's not so great. Fried chicken sandwich seemed to be made with dry chicken tenders. Meat alternative burger was cooked to within an inch of its life.
