Tunnicliff's Tavern reviews
14I had lunch here for the first time, visiting from Texas, and it was enjoyable. I had the fish and chips which were a little greasy but tasty. My daughter had the seared tuna salad which she enjoyed. My only complaint was the coleslaw was a bit off. It's almost as if they mixed old salad with the new because one bite would be nice and crunchy and the next somewhat mushy. However the waitstaff was very on point.
Friendly restaurant/bar in Eastern Market neighborhood. Great food and service. Been there for a long time, love this place! Omelets are wonderful and ingredients super-fresh!
Came for burgers but smelled the pizza and had to have it… it smelled SO good! I ordered a pepperoni. Unfortunately, they brought me out a perfectly cooked cheese pizza, and just took it back and added pepperoni and cooked it more so it was a bit over cooked in my opinion and my partner had his food and I had to wait. Other than that, it was great! Everything was tasty. Service was good. No wait for 2 on a Friday night. I’d go back!
Great food and great atmosphere. I try to make it here as often as I can when
I’m in D. C.
Stopped there for an irish coffee, was good and strong; we loved it. Place smells so good (pickle) that we ordered pickles and fries too. We will come back for more
I am starting to really dislike the bar staff here. Always so grumpy and aloof. Make no effort to serve you. Work super slowly. It’s like we should be grateful for them even being there. The guy with the backwards baseball cap especially - what’s his problem?
Had my 60th birthday party here last night— the North American edition of my birthday party. I'm doing 6 parties on 6 continents and this awesome place hosted the DC party. Great food, service and vibe
I didn't feel the food was anything to brag about. My mashed potatoes were cold and the meatloaf was just ok. It was very packed but wasn't my type of vibe.
First time back at Tunnicliffs after being away since May 2018 due to relocating outside DC. Better than I remember hence upgrading my review from a 4 to a solid 5! Scott the manager / bar tender was still on scene and a class act. Sound beer selection, wine for my guest, clean / cold glasses. Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked to medium as requested, side salad fresh (no wilted lettuce) – all condiments clean (to include lid caps). Fish and chips could not have been better…. Crispy batter, not oily, clean fryer oil, slaw fresh, not too much mayo. Strong wifi. As stated, it was already really good, but this visit took it up a notch. Thanks Scott and Tunnicliff’s - a cool little place on 7th that I recommend and plan to visit again next pass through.
This is a great place that offers bar seating with TV’s or a dining room. The menu is well balanced and everything I’ve had here was great. The staff are friendly and have a Boston vibe. Will definitely be going back.
Good atmosphere and location. Stopped in for breakfast with family. Cocktails were served within 10 minutes of ordering. The servings are plentiful and very tasty. Really enjoyed the French Toast. The smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese w/sweet cornbread reminds me of home. Price point is perfect.
Came here after a concert, couldn't find any other place still serving food. Lucky we found this place, ordered from the bartender who recommended drinks as well! Ordered pizza and Buffalo wings. Super tasty, great service. Very chill industry/dive bar vibes with lots of tvs
The food was delicious! The seared sesame tuna was to die for! The Grilled Cheese with Bacon was mouthwatering! But the sweet cornbread was incredible! The service was amazing and very attentive. We will definitely be back!
Food, Drinks and Service were TERRIBLE. Don't go here. I had to give one star to post this review. Save your money!
