Even though they were busy we were seated quickly even without a reservation. I ordered the spicy miso ramen which, while good, I felt did not warrant a warning about spiciness and was a tad light on pork belly. I split the takoyaki and a curry croquette with a friend and both were delicious. We also enjoyed some of their sake selection.

6 hours after eating the pork belly Ramen, my sister projectile vomited down my hallway with no warning for her or me. Service was good though and I did not get sick from my vegetable ramen.

Chicken & dumplings were very good. Chicken fried rice was so delicious. The house sake was surprisingly smooth. I had it cold. Would definitely have it again. Our server was very attentive and I appreciated his pleasant nature. The place has some unique seating and a quiet atmosphere for conversation.

I recently dined at Umaya Izakaya and had a mixed experience. While there were some positive aspects, overall, it didn't quite meet my expectations.

Food Ordered:
- Umaya Teriyaki Wings (6 pieces) ($10)
- Pork Belly Bun (2 pieces) ($9)
- Pork Katsu Curry ($16)
- Dragon Roll ($20)

Pros:
- The servers were friendly and helpful, providing attentive service throughout our meal.
- The food arrived quickly after ordering, and we didn't have to wait long.
- The overall taste of the food was good, and there was a large variety of dishes to choose from.

Cons:
- One of the main drawbacks was the pricing. The cost of the dishes was quite high, and unfortunately, the quality and taste of the food didn't quite justify the price.
- Specifically, the sushi rolls, like the Dragon Roll, were notably expensive for their size and didn't deliver the exceptional flavors I expected.

Overall Impression:
While Umaya Izakaya wasn't a terrible experience, it didn't leave a lasting impression. The high prices compared to the quality and taste of the dishes were disappointing. I wouldn't actively seek to dine there again. However, if you're in the mood for a donburi bowl, it might be worth a visit.

Delicious food and a great atmosphere! I recommend the morimoto cocktail and the sea bass skewer, both were wonderful

The food is good, but the service was a bit slow. I suppose short staff is just a sign of the times.

It's a nice place but nothing wow. It's ok. The dishes have a good presentation.

Sushi was not good. Autumn roll was hot on the interior. Never had a hot spicy tuna roll. Not good at all.

Customer service is deplorable! I have ordered 3 times now for delivery and every order was absolutely wrong! This restaurant has a severe issue with following instructions and each time I call to complain I am written off! Don't order online/delivery at this establishment! I am their customer - they are not mine!

Kutzu Curry only has few curry on top of a huge bowl of rice.
Unagi don eel is just meh, it tastes the same as what I made at home with air fried frozen eel.

Spacious restaurant with outdoor dining. Customer service is great and very friendly. The menu has lots of varieties. The food is very delicious at reasonable prices. We had sushi, ramen, and eel with rice and they were very good. The broth is very flavorful. The restaurant hours are great with no break in the afternoon so it's perfect for tourist. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

2.5 ️ - Service was slooooowwwww
I was excited to try this place but with so many other good options around I feel like I could have done better.
The food was ok but the service was slow. The place was not busy (only 3 tables we occupied) but it took them 30 mins to serve some sushi rolls and unagi don.one of the other table also complained that their ramen was taking so long.

This is your chance for an Izakaya experience! Order lots of small plates for the table to share, plus maybe one big thing. Make sure everyone gets a drink (if not sake, the tea is fantastic). My favorites were the mushroom salad (big and so delicious), takoyaki, and unagi nigiri. The waitress was so incredibly kind to us, which made the experience lovely.
