Uproar Lounge & Restaurant reviews
13Hi! This place was awesome but on Saturday i happened to lose my passport! If an owner can please contact me or can give me info on camera footage please let me know!
I've been going to UpRoar for awhile! It's always a great vibe filled with a diverse crowd. When I talk to friends I call this place the "De Facto Bear Bar of DC". The staff is top tier and super friendly. The food is probably some of the best you'll get at any gay bar in the area. Their fries definitely have won my heart personally. If you're part of the Bear Community I highly suggest checking out Beer Bust as its such a lovely and great social event.
Uproar is my go to for Latin night. Drink are made right and the music is always a vibe! Can’t go wrong with trying to find a fun place with good music on a Saturday night!
Great place, staff are always wonderful, drinks are good, bar food is enjoyable from the first floor (and sometimes will be handed out up on roof deck during events). Can be a bit crowded/loud, but no more than any other gay bar in DC. Also staff were super helpful getting my keys back when I lost them there.
Only thing I really will ding them on is joining the ranks of places adding a "fair wage fee" onto all tabs and telling people it's not part of the tip. Would rather they just raise prices 18% instead. These fees just feel dodgy at all the places using them.
A+ experience definitely a laid back environment down stairs if your in the mood for calm bar scene. Upstairs if your wanting to club dance, Top floor for a mix of both.
Go at the right time on the right day and you’ll be greeted with chicken wings being passed around on the rooftop patio. Can’t beat it.
We typically are not into the bear scene, however Uproar has been a great exception. Very friendly staff, patrons, and a wonderful outdoor section have made this a must stop. We also noted that this seems to be the most diverse gay bar in DC.
Had a blast at Uproar! Very welcoming environment. Thursday night Karaoke was LIT! Alex, the bartender, was wonderful! I will definitely be back.
I was in town visiting and it was a nice experience. Bar is small, so you're gonna be close to others, which wasn't a problem for me. The bartender was friendly, the food was good, and the karaoke night was fun!
Beware if using a credit card, they charge a service fee without a warning a fee would be charged. Cash, no fee. What's up with that? Seems they violate DC consumer protection laws by not warning customers. Come on Uproar, you can do better.
Randomly stumbled in and found the nicest ppl and a really good chicken sandwich. Can't remember my drink but it was pretty big, in a cute cup and I couldn't handle another
The bartender, Alex I believe, was awesome and the crowd was very friendly and inviting. Karaoke night was great!
The only thing that kept from getting five stars was the rude door man. If this man represents this place definitely not to take place I'm going back to I get treated better by homophobic small minded people than this guy
