Via Ghibellina reviews
16 Via Ghibellina is a hidden gem located in Ivy City. VG specializes in Tuscan fare, cocktails and wine. The staff are so friendly and welcoming to all guests. They treat us like family given how often we visit.
You will not find better Italian cuisine in Washington D. C.
From their pasta to their pizza, the food is made to perfection.
I've been here twice. In those visits I have ordered the four cheese pizza, mushroom risotto, funghi pizza, panna cotta, tiramisu, and the branzino fish. I have no complaints. Service is prompt. The atmosphere is pleasant. It always makes for a nice stop after visiting the Target nearby. Food is consistent, fresh, and tasty. The funghi (mushroom) pizza in particular was incredible. The place has been pretty empty when we have gone, I hope that's not always the case, because it immediately became a favorite after our first time going. I haven't tried the pasta dishes yet but I'm looking forward to it.
Very good Italian food, loved the Pizza and Caprese. Happy all around but wished they would add Amaretto to the Tiramisu or at least reduce the sweetness/increase the coffee taste.
This is in my opinion, the best food in DC. The chef here is phenomenal and the drinks are amazing. Here some advice: get the pancakes!
It's a very nice place. It's not swanky, but it's a good place to have a drink. My food was very good too, and I'd definitely go back.
My husband and I go quite often to Italy for business reasons, so we can say with safe reference that Via Ghibelina offers the most authentic Italian cuisine in the area. Everything we have tried was tasty and the service didn’t fall behind in anything! I definitely recommend it!
Finally made it over to Via Ghibellina after an amaro tasting at Don Ciccio e Figli. The restaurant itself is a nice space, open and lively while still feeling comfortable. The food was great—particularly the steak with blueberry sauce. Sounds odd but it was phenomenal! The cheese and meat boards were also very tasty, although it might be a good idea to offer a combination bord for people who want both cheese and meat but don’t want to order two full boards. Drinks were pretty standard, but the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that I had was good, solid wine. The service was perfectly attentive without being overbearing, and our waiter was very knowledgeable and candid. Especially once the area around Ivy City is a bit more economically developed and is easier to get to, I have a feeling it will be hard to get a reservation at this place.
Yum, yum, yum! A fantastic hidden gem. Had a burrata with grapefruit/ pine nuts, cacio e pepe with spinach and asparagus sides. The food was awesome and the service impeccable. The staff guided us through the wine list thoughtfully asking several questions to help us decide. We had tiramisu and panna cotta to close out the meal. Such a wonderful dinner.
Grabbed a great pizza here before heading over to Other Half for some beers. I was the only person there at dinner time on a Thursday evening and my pizza came out in less than 10 minutes.
I haven't stopped dreaming about their Cacio E Pepe! Truly inspirational! Stumbled across Via's without having done any searching beforehand, and must declare this is my luckiest random find in a long time! Everyone in our party was equally impressed with their dinners. Highly recommend treating yourself to a rich and heartwarming meal you won't soon forget!
While making a delivery across the street to Pro Fish in a semi truck which really sucks, I decided to order a pizza to go, the pizza was so good I’d do it again! So fresh, light and crispy. Delizioso!
The pizza is fresh and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend any of their pizzas. I didn't need to eat the whole thing in one sitting, but I definitely did eat it all in one sitting!
My steak was absolutely amazing. The bread was really tasty, and while we didn't have the pizza, if it is made out of that bread, I bet it is divine. As for the other food items, they ranged from ok to no way. It was very disappointing, because I felt like everything was cooked perfectly, but the flavors were just not something that I enjoyed. I would definitely go a second time, because the food was cooked so well. I just want to find something with flavors that I like. Also, the staff was incredibly attentive and nice.
The food here is pretty good and the service is great. It's also a very comfortable environment just a little chilly out on the temperature side.
My wife never finishes her meals, but she SMASHED the Filet Mignon. The balsamic sauce that's on the steak is freaking amazing!
I had the NY Strip, medium, it was delicious as well. But when i return I'm getting the Filet
