Washington Monument Grounds reviews
15Was a pretty good experience, but usually a bit crowded compared to living in a small town instead of a city. Some loud cars but personally I love them.
It was a nice cloudy summer day to walk up to the Washington monument. It's very tall and big once you walk up to it. You can see the 3 major locations in DC from here: the White House, Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. This is a place that you really need to bring your kids to to really feel the history.
Finally I got the opportunity to visit the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. Yes it was cold and windy, but was really pretty and definitely enjoyed it!
Nice to go with the family, it is advisable to look for a parking space, it costs around $20 if you leave it on the street, the police propose a fine because you cannot park anywhere on the road
What an experience to see such an iconic memorial to one of our founding fathers and first president. I never realized that it was completed in two stages and that there is a slight color difference in the stones used to build it.
A must-see when visiting DC. Imo, actually going up to the monument isn’t worth it, especially compared to memorials such as the Lincoln, jefferson, and FDR memorial. Take a walk around the grounds and appreciate the trees and flowers.
Congested, trash cans over flowing and the smell at the stagnant Reflection Pool is disgusting. For the revenue that is brought into this extremely high tourist area, it should be a lot nicer. Bathroom facilities are few and far between, and businesses are not likely to let you use theirs. Leaves a lot to be desired for sure.
Lots of space to sit and let kids run around. Good for a picnic lunch. Nice view of the of the classic monuments!
A busy place around the clock, good to visit and have a long walk, but I couldn't see bathrooms here or anywhere close by, so plan accordingly. Good for all family to enjoy some beautiful moments.
Went recently for Cherry Blossom Festival. Well maintained grounds and plenty of park staff around if you had questions.
Me & Hubby's first stop was here, we had a great walk & enjoyed the weather as well.
A very peaceful and amazing place. You can appreciate the structure and the surrounding buildings. The grounds were full of school tours and people walking through the park.
The grounds are very well kept and clean.
Great historical place to spend time with family and friends, especially if you visit in the month of March end or start of April.
The area is beautiful during the day. So much to see and do around the capital. Plenty of museums, the White House, Capital Building, Smithsonian museums, Washington monument. All within easy walking distance. The Natural History Museum was awesome. So was the White House Visitors Center. Take note, though, there are not too many restaurants around so pack a lunch or plan on hitting a food truck. We prepaid to park, which took off some stress of finding a spot and it was qctually cheaper. I highly recommend doing a weekend trip.
Wish they had more scooters & mopeds to ride with & more food trucks instead of just being on one street
