Washington Navy Yard Visitor Center reviews
7Completely rude people that work here. Never consistent on getting a parking pass. One time all you need is a military ID next time they need a background check. Horrible experience! I am a contractor and work at many instillations and this is by far the worst!
Only giving a one cuz you cant give less! Tude staff, not sure they know what they are doing. Had to go twice and still didn't fix the issue with access.
Had wonderful service at the RAPIDs/CAC office. Very helpful and pleasant people working there. However, it's sad to see that these people are basically working in a closet. How is it that our United States government can't provide a more pleasant and comfortable working environment especially to those in service of our military families. This is very sad.
Process to get checked in was very slow and took up quite a bit of time. I was late for my appointment despite showing up 20 min early.
A must see if you are staying any where near the Navy Yard. Yes, you have to get vetted to enter the base, but you can download the form before you go and it is easy to fill out and once there takes less than 10 minutes to get clearance. The base is easy to walk, the museum is a must see, not big but filled with interesting Navy/Military items and even some Baseball memorabilia. The courtyards display some amazing artifacts, 16 inch gun, 26 inch amour plating from Japan.
Good energy here but the traffic and main gate are TERRIBLE! They need a new system for this. It took 10 minutes getting IN and 15 minutes getting out
This base has about 5 different entrances, so make sure you're headed in the correct direction. Visitors center is the last entrance, you'll see O st gate. You get signed in pretty fast, depending on your reasoning for your visit. Parking is the only hassle/reason why i didn't rate a 5. There are barely no spots to park in unless you have a pass. I normally find parking after driving around in the garages for about 15-20mins, so arrive early if you have an appointment. Otherwise, great base, great people, and great customer service.
