1928 Cuban Bistro - Fernandina Beach reviews
16All I have to say is ***AMAZING! *** I don't usually leave reviews, but this place was SO delicious that it would be criminal not to leave them a good review. EVERYTHING I ordered was so tasty and delicious! I would eat here daily if I could. Definitely ordering from this place again.
Wonderful Cuban restaurant. Chefs are extremely nice as-well as the front staff. 100% recommend and would go again.
I do love the food and pastelitos. I get the same thing every time. Cafe con Leche, and the desayuno Caballero. And a few assorted pastelitos. My daughter enjoys the ham and cheese tostada.
My only hiccup with this location is my family hardly ever gets their dishes at the same time. Sometimes I finish my food before my daughter even gets her tostada. They've forgotten pastries on occasions, to the point my beau refuses to come anymore. He gets his coffee & pastelitos at Holas. Otherwise the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxing, it's cleanly, and the food (when you get it) is delicious
Was a repeat customer. Now I'll take business elsewhere. Food ok but customer service is not.
We waited a long time for three pastries (already made), dirty chai latte and colada, almost 45 min. But, I can’t give a bad review. Everything was good. Just some constructive criticism; put a second person up front. That poor girl was doing it all on her own to the point where take out takes priority over dine in. I can’t blame her. Occasionally another women would walk up, while on her cell, look around, but wouldn’t lift a finger to control the flow of traffic. Our order was wrong when it came out. But, I had to show compassion for the young lady. The women up front was taking orders, doing take out, making espresso, serving tables. Get her some help.
We stopped at this spot to grab a late lunch, and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent from the moment you walked in until you were walking out the door. The food was well plated and presented. We ordered the rice plate with the braised chicken and sweet plantains. It tasted like true family home cooking. The portions were generous so we had leftovers to take back to our hotel for later. You can’t go to a Cuban restaurant without getting a couple guava cheese pastries. They were scrumptious and transported me to growing up in Miami. We can’t wait to visit again. If you want flavorful food that tastes like it was cooked with love, you must eat here! Thank you for the hospitality!
We have been to the 1928 Cuban Bistro a few times before, but this is the first time we have been there for breakfast. Thier food and service has been so consistently excellent, I felt compelled to ensure that others are aware of this jewel. For coffee, I always get their Cordadito, a sweet, strong, espresso drink. For lunch they have a fairly large menu of tasty Cuban dishes. However, what drove me to write this review was the fantastic pastries we had for breakfast. We had several of the fruit and cheese filled pastries and all were among the best we've had. I highly recommend the 1928 Cuban Bistro.
Had the Cuban. When you install their app you receive a discount on sandwiches and drinks. Ask about it when you place your order. The Cuban is big. A meal by itself, and it's delicious! Bread is softer and tasty. Plenty of ingredients inside. Will go back. Right on 8th street in Fernandina about three blocks shy of Centre street. Take out is available from their plentiful menu.
They were super busy. Sandwich was good, but not what I felt was their potential. My wife said it was different bread then her visit. I'll give another try.
I had the cuban was not bad.was nothing to write home about.was adequate.good for a local drop in not my favorite.
How this placed is not packed every morning is beyond me. Try it out! Amazing coffee and breakfast sandwich. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and service. Quickly served. Owner popped out to spite me how to dip my bread in my coffee!
This was the first time trying out breakfast for a work meeting/catch up. It was great and fast service with a lot of options to try. Even took a box home full of sweet and savory goodies for later.
If you have not tried their breakfast (they serve all day) check them out. It was not crowded at all for a sit down meal and discussion and a great place to meet downtown in the morning.
As far as take-out goes and ordering in advance, you can't do it because they don't answer the phone under any circumstances. You're forced to order take-out thru Door Dash or another delivery service. This is the only restaurant on the entire island that I know of that they don't answer the phone.
La gordita open face breakfest sandwich, Nutella, banana pastries, and the la, rebe. CAFE LECHE, ALL THE COFFEE IS SUPERB! 1928, IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR BREAKFEST AND PASTRIES!
Went inside to get dinner for my family to go. Literally a third of my food is missing. I didn't think I would have to check the bag since there was no one in there besides one other person. Tbis is my only day off work so I wanted a good meal without cooking. Now I have hungry kids and have to cook. They won't even answer their phone so I can get my money back. I'll never go again.
