4 Rivers Smokehouse reviews
14This was our first time visit today, it was our wedding anniversary lunch choice. It was a line but it moved quickly the servers were very nice, work area clean, the food was so good! Especially the bread pudding! I wish tomorrow was Monday instead of Sunday can’t wait to try something else. We had the brisket, pulled pork sandwiches collard greens, beans, and that corn is the best! Thank you for a great choice for food.
Cold, old, meat and greens. Ordered chicken, 10 pieces and 1 flat. It was a dump. The reputation on 434 in Altamonte does not extend here. Can't hod match much less a candle. Paid $58 for extended leftovers.never again 4 us
This place used to be one of the best bbq places in Gainesville. Now the food looks and tastes like dog food. Couldn’t even finish the food. Basically paid 30 bucks for a few drinks. Would go lower if I could.
Update: My entire party got sick
I rdered the brisket and burnt ends. They bother were not warm. The cole slaw and sweet potatoes were tasty. The pulled chicken was more buffalo than BBQ. The fried okra and collard green were tasty.
I ordered brisket takeout.a lean sandwich & 1/2 pound moist. Order takers were courteous & helpful. The brisket was it's usual awesome. Looking forward to my next opportunity to return.
My go to rib place in Gainesville Florida never had a bad experience and the food is amazing
The good: The sides (Beans, Mac/Cheese and coleslaw) were very good. The brisket was good- what there was of it. The menu photo for the "Signature Angus Brisket" plate shows 4 reasonable sized, thick, slices. What I got was 1 full slice, one half slice, and another half slice that was half fat.
Followup: My complaint was addressed, and repeat visits have been much better. Can definitely recommend.
4Rivers catered a very large event for us and I am blown away by the experience. Jenny, the regional catering sales manager is phenomenal - excellent communication, the delivery and set up were easy and timely, and the food was great. She and her team went well above and beyond to make sure our event was a success. We will never use another vendor (as we have in the past) for this this event. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants in Gainesville. I always order the salad with the brisket and the tomato vinaigrette dressing. Our diets have changed and have opted to more vegetarian options. Unfortunately, there aren't much options for vegetarians. Very tasty food though.:)
Sure, it’s a chain, but to me it is a solid go-to for a great meal. The menu is sufficiently varied to cater to most tastes. I love their brisket - note that you can order it moist (i.e. More fatty) or lean. I also like ordering the bread pudding as one of my sides, it’s fantastic.
This particular location stood out for their friendly service. They closed at 8 but made no big deal about the three tables who were finishing up their meal. They cleaned up around the place and folks made their way out respectfully.
Just moved to Gainesville and have gone to this location a few times. Maybe the company has just changed, but this 4Rivers is not like the ones I used to go to in Orlando. The customer service used to be like chickfila.at this location, the employees always seem like they hate their jobs. Also, the service is insanely slow. The time it takes to get 10 people through the line is the same as how long I used to wait in a line 20 people out the door at the winter garden location. They seemingly never have enough people working up front. Hardly ever are customers greeted when approaching the counter and once ordering, getting the sides and paying takes another 5 minutes minimally. Again, usually they just don't seem to have enough people working.
The food is still great, but the service is just very disappointing every time.
I have ordered take out for my family twice. Fast, friendly, and delicious! Love the brisket, burnt ends, ribs, collard greens, roasted corn, and baked beans. Took me a while to get used to the cornbread with jalapeños, kids won't eat it, but it is moist and flavorful. Side sauce was delicious. I was impressed! Will order again!
Fast service and clean, but the food was just ok. The mac and cheese was bland and predictable. The brisket had very little flavor and was a tad bit fatty. The sauces on the table were tasty though you only have two (original and spicy) to pick from
Staff was very friendly, and I greatly appreciated that they could advise on vegan and healthy options. Food (particularly the vegan burnt ends, YUM) is always great. However, I'm so disappointed about all the cups/utensils/etc.being plastic or styrofoam and single-use, without there being even recycling bins present. I know cost is a factor in these things, but would love to see an improvement in that regard; otherwise I'd feel guilty about returning.
