818 Heat Hotpot & BBQ, Boca Raton FL

Okay, where to start? We had a reservation for 10 people for a birthday dinner. We were sat and ordered drinks, everything seemed fine until it was time to order; they have no vegetarian options for hot pot or BBQ. The waiter offered hot water for the vegetarians for the same price of $31.95. Of course this is not ideal- who would want to eat boiled vegetables in hot water (no seasonings? !) for the same price? But okay, the vegetarians ordered vegetable fried rice, which is also on the menu. Again, everything seemed fine, until the another waiter (possibly the manager?) approached our table to make us aware that although the vegetarians would not be eating the hotpot or BBQ, they would still be charged for it due to a flat rate of entering the restaurant. Our party reiterated these rules back to the possible manager just to make sure we were understanding him- so the vegetarians would not only have to pay $31.95 for simply entering the building, but also the price of their vegetarian meal? He responds yes. Also, he tells us that the vegetarians would have to be physically separated from the rest of our party and moved to a table that is closer to the front desk to ensure the vegetarians are not eating any of the meat-based foods. Once again, we reiterate these rules back to the possible manager, just to make sure we are understanding this correctly (it is almost so unbelievable) : so people with specific dietary restrictions not only have to pay extra for food they cannot eat, but they also have to be physically separated from the party and watched to make sure they're not eating food that they cannot eat? He responds yes. This kind of customer service is so poor, it makes me want to believe our party simply wasn't wanted at the restaurant. I just have never encountered practices like this before. It was entirely uninviting- we ended up leaving (still had to pay $60 in drinks) because we weren't allowed to sit together, at a birthday dinner, because some people had dietary restrictions. The man who told us these rules was not friendly and not apologetic. This is my first and last time ever going- there is much better hotpot restaurants in the area, restaurants that will let you eat with the people you came there with! (Who knew the bar was so low? !)

Good selection of meats and veggies. One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Highly recommended! Sometimes a little crowded due to limited seats.

Meats and vegetables were good quality. Vegetables were exceptionally fresh. Great selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces. Very good value for the experience. Service was great and the boss was very nice. For the price, you cannot get any better for both hot pot and BBQ. I highly recommend.

I really used to love this place as they have some of my favorite options for kbbq but the past couple of times I’ve gone I’ve paid way too much money to be treated like trash. If you are planning to go with a small party on a weekend don’t even bother. They will rush you out of there no matter what. They handed us our bill thirty minutes before the two hour allotted time was up. The first time this happened we were barely checked on by the wait staff and there isn’t a call button so we couldn’t ask for more food and I left hungry even though I paid $50+. The second time this happened the waitress with the short hair (and from reading some other reviews this seems like a normal occurrence) without even asking decided to put all our food on the grill for us even though we didn’t want it all cooked at once. I’ve had issues with this same waitress coming over to yell at us for making the grill too hot. Well maybe if the wait staff were checking on us they would have been able to tell us sooner.

Overall the price and horrible service is not worth it. I will be going to any other kbbq that’s half the price and higher quality. Rok>>>!

Was here for christmas with GF and friend, really good food and the service was 5 star. They were friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this to any of my friends

Food was good, however our server wasn't very customer-oriented. Extremely unhelpful to us as first timers having lots of questions but instead felt rushed & unheard. Won't be returning. Lemongrass Hot Pot is far superior if you don't need the BBQ aspect.

Always amazing when we come to eat. The staff is wonderful the food delicious. My boyfriend and I come here maybe 2 to 3 times a week sometimes it’s just worth it. They’re open late almost everyday perfect for us.

Nice eastern, korean kitchen. If you like eastern food, boiling soup on your table or making bbq also on your table, it's that place.

It is true that Chinese food is the most popular in this world ，the hot pot makes sweating the service attitude is very good, especially a manager, he is very friendly and always smiles, I always call him the boss, but he says he is not, very dedicated The spirit of an employee if he really isn't the owner. Highly recommended

The food and service had been improved alot. Not much wrong item brought out. Definitely good place to have dinner with friends and family

We decided to do the k-bbq and everything was delicious. I'd suggest googling a recipe for bulgogi in order to know what to add to your meats.

Went to dinner on all you can eat, you order something to cook as a Korean bbq it takes at least 10-20min each round. Waiter don’t bring what we ordered, needed to ask several times the same thing.

You are allocated 2 hours to eat everything you can, we were kicked out after 1 hour and 23 minutes.my group spent over $500 there and once we paid the bill we were immediately asked to leave.extremely unprofessional and unfriendly staff.

- the wait staff purposefully turned down the temperature on the grill multiple times to slow cooking time.
- we had to flag down the staff to request more food, on every occasion they would say one second and scurry to the other side of the restaurant.
- the staff purposefully brought out the cheaper cuts of meat when we would order the food and then "forget" about the Ribeye
- The staff would bring out meat we did not order or would bring double the meat we did order in lieu of the more expensive cuts.
