AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care, Jacksonville FL

Took my car in to have my AC checked out. The owner gave me a quote of 1400 for a new unit. I took it to another shop that vacuumed my unit and topped it off.worked like a charm. I don't know about these other reviews but I would not trust these guys with a child's tricycle.

I have been going to AAMCO on Atlantic Blvd.since 2012. I also buy their car service plan for $85 that offers discounts and 4 oil changes a year and 2 tire rotations to be used on my car or my husband’s truck. On Sunday I had a warning light come on my car after church, and after looking in the car manual it suggested I take to dealership right away. I called AAMCO Monday morning at 8: 00 am and Jeremy told me to bring it over and by 6: 00 pm I had my car fixed and running great again with a new water pump, Thermostat and cooling system flush and sensor light deactivated. $572 With discount Included labor and parts. I appreciate their honesty and prompt service. It is nice to have a dependable mechanic. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest place to have their vehicle serviced.

Jeremy and the crew always strait forward and dont try and sell you what you dont need! I've been using them for a couple years now and they never disappoint!

I'm posting my review based only on talking with owner twice, first time I called and he took time to explain all the options and assure me the diagnose is free and if i don't like any option I can take my truck and leave.second time he just called me back 2 days later to check on me. I own old truck and its time for new one

I went there for a free a/c inspection. It was actually FREE. I just wanted to see what was wrong with my air conditioning because I've never had a problem with it before. This business is extremely friendly and know what they are doing when it comes to auto vehicles.

This transmission repair shop was recommended by my auto repair shop who used them but that did not seem to matter because they wanted to fix a check engine light before They looked at my transmission. I did not think they were being honest so left in a hurry.

No one is perfect but these guys done right by me on 2 separate occasions both for what could have been major $ repairs. I had visited 2 "quality shops" both quoting unreasonable pricing for a specific repair/replace. I visited AAMCO for a 3rd opinion as my problem was transmission related. My problem was diagnosed correctly and priced at half of what the 1st two "quality shops" quoted. One being the dealer. The repairs were made on schedule and I paid the quoted price with confidence and a guarantee. Now, on my most recent visit my problem had been diagnosed incorrectly by two different shops. One as a rear main seal and the second as a blown head gasket. I phoned AAMCO asking if they would diagnosed my problem explaining my thoughts pointing at a rear main seal leak. This gave AAMCO an opportunity to purposefully misdiagnose and charge me $1,500 for replacing the rear main seal when this was not the problem. AAMCO correctly diagnosed my problem to be a leaking oil sensor unit. They replace the unit for a charge of $207. I gave them an opportunity to cheat and steal but they chose to be honest and make only the needed and necessary repairs to my vehicle. I am a very satisfied customer and this AAMCO shop will be my 1st stop for diagnosis and repair!

Shannon and the crew were amazing. They took the time and due diligence to find the problem and offered multiple solutions. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them for my personal as well as my company fleet from here forward. Great bunch of guys.

Disappointed with their service. They need to communicate better. The manager who was there at opening had me wait for almost 4 hours and still have not looked at my car. He didnt seem too sorry about it. Don't waste customer's time like that.

They suck professional thrives I should know been ripped off three times by aamcoes I have replaced at least twelve transmissions in the last twenty years last one was one month ago it was a rebuilt tranny from Armco that cast me 2600 bucks when I was told roughly it would be 900 to about 1200 it’s a scam this guy rebuilt my tranny for 400 cash and taught me everything about my tranny and showed me what aamco did wrong

The team at AAMCO on Atlantic Blvd is amazing! They are upfront and honest and that is (unfortunately) hard to find in a mechanic shop these days. Jeremy and his guys should definitely be commended for there hospitality and professionalism. Thanks for everything team AAMCO!

Transmission on the car started kicking hard between 2nd and 3rd gear. Took the car to the place i normally have it serviced at and they told me they do basic work on transmissions. They felt the issue was more extensive than what they do and recommended to take it to a transmission specialist place. I took the car to AAMCO and since they had to remove it and open it to check it i had the transmission rebuilt. Which probably not a bad idea on a ten year old car. AAMCO had the car done in a few days. Picked the car up and it was fine for about 15-20 minutes and the shifting problem presented itself again. Called AAMCO and they asked me to bring it back. They had the car for about another two days and haven't had an issue since then. Turns out the car, a 2006 Hunday Elantra, has a transmission that adjusts to the drivers driving patterns and the computer got screwy and didn't act right when the car reached normal operating temperatures. After AAMCO worked on it the second time they reset the computer and transmission and the transmission has been working flawlessly since. Overall, AAMCO had the car for less than a week and i have a transmission that is performing like new.
I would do business with AAMCO again and i definitely recommend them for any transmission work.

I Took my car for a diagnosis for a problem in the transmission, I received a budget for the repair, everything was fine until I discovered that some tools that I always keep in a compartment in the back of my car had disappeared that day. I called the store and the manager, as expected, denied that his employees had done this. I would not only do the work in this store but I would spread the word so that other clients would not be stolen like me. This is shameful and sad.

Very helpful. They towed my car for free with the major repair. Communicated everything clearly. Great to work with!

I have to admit I Had quite a few problems but the reason I am giving 4 starts still is I have to say Shannon kept at it and even offered compensation since it took so long. Turned out that a bad supplier was sending them a warped part once that was rectified everything worked out and I got the car back a day later

I have been going to this aamco for 10 years. The only time I get bad service is the last two times I had to deal with the owner. The guy at the desk told me to bring it in and they would look at it.when I got there thet were looking at my truck trying to figure what was wrong and the owner came out and said they had no time to look at it. He was also rude when he was talking to me. I would never bring my truck to aamco again. They have lost me as a customer.

I just had my transmission rebuilt here. Amazing service. Shannon was very friendly and professional. Honest and to the point with pricing and everything involved with a rebuild. I would recommend this business to everyone I know. Top notch.

These guys are amazing. Twice in a week they showed me they are real mechanics and not just part replacers! Had transmission issues with my 06 Jeep Commander. Another shop in town told me it needed a new transmission and a bunch of other things totaling $5800.00 so I took it to AAMCO. They found the problem, fix it and service the transmission for a total bill of $523.00 so I was impressed. While there, I asked them if they worked on Subaru vehicles. I have a Tribeca which I was trying to sell and started giving me issues with shifting, and ended up stuck in 2nd gear. That vehicle spent almost two months at another mechanic who couldn't figure out the issue and told me it needed a new transmission for over $2000.00 - Long story short, I had it towed to AAMCO and in less than 24 hours they found out the problem and fixed it for $265.00! I am at a loss for words, and will recommend these guys to everyone that needs honest people working on their vehicles. Honesty, great service, communication all +

I'm satisfied with the work and the time it took to do the job. I will use ammco again and will recommend to friends and family.
