I would never ever, ever recommend anyone to send their loved one to the Abbey nursing and rehab! I wouldn’t even give Abby a one star, this was the lowest option available.

My father was to go here for one week, exercise then go home.

They only exercised him on the very last day!

They had him in a room where the AC did not work during the Hot Florida Summer 100 Degree Heat. We would complain, people would come in and pretend to fix it. The AC never worked!

My dad had a very high fever 104! In this room with no AC during the hot heat of the Florida Summer! I called his doctor and was told to call an ambulance to get him to the hospital asap. (Do to a UTI which he got at Abbey!)
The head nurse said dad’s doctor had no jurisdiction at Abbey and wasn’t going to let my dad go to the hospital! Well heck with that, off dad went in an ambulance to the hospital. They were going to hold my dad prisoner in that hot room until he died!

I had to chase down the nurse to get Tylenol for dad. No one was not checking dad’s vitals. It was difficult to get anything we asked for.

The head nurse told me to let my father die, that he had cancer throughout his whole body! NO HE DID NOT

The head nurse didn’t know anything!

My father is alive and well three years later. Driving going on multiple cruises enjoying life and my mother. Yay!

This was of no help from Abbey! Do not send your loved one here

I would always hear a woman calling for help, no one went in to help, my heart broke for her.

5-STAR high quality customer service provided by Shana Wendell, Sales Counselor. After completing a request for information online, she was responsive, knowledgeable & patient allowing us to make a quick assessment after our onsite tour. Our parents love the assisted living options including private apartment, healthy yet tasty meals in the dining hall, on demand medical/housekeeping assistance & quiet comfortable luxury setting. My sister and I have peace of mind, comfort and flexibility knowing they are SAFE and receiving QUALITY CARE from a caring team. Check them out as you won’t be disappointed. Also, seeing that they have live there over 6 weeks, the responsiveness continues. Thank you Shana! We are forever grateful to everyone who helped us in our time of need and major change in their lives.

We recently moved our great aunt into the Abbey Delray and we couldn’t be happier. We had come from out of town and had to find a space and move her in a matter of days. Shana Wenzell at the Abbey made that all happen. We toured the facility on a Monday and she was moved in by Wednesday. Shana and the staff went out of their way to help. My aunt is happier and appears to be healthier than she’s been in years since moving in. They have continued to follow up with us and have taken excellent care of her.

My father was in the Rehab Center for two weeks. I thought that the PTs and the OTs were terrific. The nurses were caring but overworked and burned out. The CNAs were kind but also overworked (and undertrained.) If you are there for physical therapy and you are mobile and can self-advocate, you should be fine there. If you are confined to a bed, expect to beg for every single thing you need, like having your diaper changed. Expect that you will never, ever, ever, be turned in your bed and will run the risk of developing bedsores. Expect to see a doctor once a week, on a schedule that is convenient for her. And as a prior reviewer said, expect to be completely neglected on the weekends. I tremendously regret having chosen this place for my father, and I believe in my heart that their lack of urgency contributed to his death there.

EXTREMELY POOR FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE COMMUNITY! Receptionists and marketing reps need to be trained on courteous, professional demeanor, particularly the marketing rep for the assisted living. First impressions are important and they speak volumes with regards to management and resident care! No longer interested in this community, my questions have been answered. The numerous poor reviews are certainly deserved.

The nurses aides are cold and nasty. They don’t show kindness and spend more time laughing with other aides

This place is a Terrible place they have
bad management Bad leadership skills, bad communication skills There’s a lady in there name Jackie she’s the Manager of the kitchen department she’s the worst She will make us employees use old food that expired to give the residents and if you don’t follow her rule’s she will put up with HR to terminate You And we have another director name Brandon he’s the worst person in there he lays off more then 50 people that was working with Abbey for years keep your family members away from this place

My mother passed away at Abbey on March 29. We live more than a thousand miles away. Since then, I have been told on numerous occasions that her few possessions had been boxed up and would be mailed to me. I have NOT received them and cannot understand why someone can’t help the family feel better by just putting them in the mail. My parents lived at Abbey for more than two decades and it has left a very sour taste in all of our mouths to not have these few simple things that have value only for the family sent to us. While Abbey cared for her while she was alive, it has shown no concern for her family that still morns her loss.

My father used Abbey Delray when he needed to rehab after getting out of the hospital. The staff was fantastic. From Debbie in admission, to Donna the social worker, everyone was great. They made sure my father got the best care possible and that it was easy for me and my family. Keep up the good work!

My mother is currently a patient at the rehab facility and it is horrible. She has sit in soiled diapers for hours, sits in her room for hours with no one checking on her, seeing if she needs anything, or even coming when she hits the call button. She is there for rehab and supposed to be getting it so she can return to her normal life, however she has only had 2 sessions in 3 days when she was told she would have 2 sessions a day. Everything she was told about how things would go when she got there were all a bold faced lie. She requests specific food/drink because she was told to just ask, yet they bring her stuff she cannot eat or doesn't like. This place is obviously seriously understaffed. I will be making a trip down there very soon and I will be making my grievances known loud and clear because this is unacceptable. I will also make sure that anyone and everyone I know stays far away from this place.
This place deserves NO stars, but unfortunately, that is not an option.

Shout out to Abbey Delray North Health Center for taking excellent care of my mom from hip surgery! Nursing gave quality care but the staff and head of the therapy department went beyond our expectations. She returned our calls and reassured us on the type of therapy my mom received. I would call the health center to get updates, but NO ONE ever returned our calls except for I think her name is Dena, in the therapy dept. I would leave a message and by the end of the day our calls were answered, giving us piece of mind! Very clean facility as well and I would definitely recommend Abbey Delray North to our friends.

My mom has been at Abbey Delray’s rehab community. The staff from reception to Social worker to nursing staff are all wonderful. The therapists have been doing a fabulous job to try & rehab my mom. The kitchen staff have kept my mom well feed & healthy. The nurses are patient, hard working, caring & very kind. I would recommend Abbey Delray to everyone.

Rehab @ Abbey Delray north. A great outcome in rehab starts with a great team and the therapists here are attentive, motivating and communicative.iI's so refreshing to get feedback about your parent when you call. The temporary rehab Director, Dina, was so welcoming to my questions and concerns and promptly responded when me or my sis left a message.
Thank you Dina and your therapy colleagues,

Julie

My mother-in-law was in the health center at ADR. The nurses try very hard to help the patients. However, they cannot get to all the patients. If you are patient at ADR on the weekend, you are left alone for HOURS. There is NO help. You will not receive PT or OT. If you are lucky, you might get your meds by 9: 00 p.m. Patients yell, "Help me, " "Help. " I walked through the halls, and it looked like a scene from the movie "The Shining. " The only positive is how hard the aides try to help. However, they are very understaffed. It is not the nurse's fault. They are understaffed as well. So are the aides. When they tell you - you will get PT is NEVER alone; it is w a group of 3 people. Maybe you get PT for 8 minutes. Again, it is not the fault of the PT. Is it the fault of the administration and whoever is running ADR? I asked the nurse supervisor for help, and she started to shut the door in my face while I was pushing my mom in the wheelchair. Not caring at all about my mom. Think again before going to Abbey Delray for rehabilitation. Especially if it is a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Security is really really rude. I didn’t see her name but she has red hair. Teach your security manners!
