Could not of picked a better flooring company to go with in the Orlando area!
Alex, Shane, Ric, the men who installed, and Leisha were wonderful to work with. They explained to me the quote & warned me it could go up after demo day depending on the flatness of my subfloor. I appreciated the transparency so I wasn’t surprised.
They were very flexible with my project - I had to stop them mid work because I found a water leak. They were understanding and were able to come back right when I got the problem resolved. Shane was very personable and helped me pick the perfect wood for my situation. Ric the owner was so kind & responsive during this whole process. He talked me through the water leak/ and gave me a very thorough door sawing tutorial- when he saw me and my husband struggling with new power tools we didn’t know how to use! I appreciate his willingness to stick around for an extra hour to help teach me & walk me through something he certainly didn’t have to!

You can 100% tell this is a family business- the kindness and GREAT product / installation.

From beginning to end, we had an excellent experience with Ability. They were prompt in their initial evaluation and price quote. The showroom had multiple options that fit our price range. They showed flexibility in performing the work when something outside our control delayed the start date. The gentlemen who installed the floor were polite and hardworking. And when we needed some additional material to finish the job, they stayed with it even though they were nearly 100% done. We met them because of a dishwasher leak, which was not an enjoyable experience, but they made their part easy on us.

The entire team at Ability Flooring was such a pleasure to work with! We decided to have our floors redone prior to moving into our newly purchased home and the entire team at Ability guided us from start to finish. They helped us pick the perfect flooring, answered our questions, and provided solutions. It’s rare to find a company that’s as passionate about what they do. We utilized Ability Flooring recently to replace the flooring in one room of our house, to match the existing flooring in the rest of our 1940’s home. Older homes always come with unexpected challenges and finding a product that fits to appear like it was “supposed” to be there, can be challenging. Shane Skovil, his father Rick, and their entire crew of employees really went above and beyond. Our floor looks beautiful and the way they tied the flooring into the existing flooring at the thresholds, utilizing a turn board, looks aesthetically beautiful and is much more functional than our prior set up. I have found with other contractors for various products and services, that the sales staff are very helpful and involved, only up until the sale, then once the installation begins you are met by an entirely unfamiliar crew and never hear from the sales staff again. Shane showed up to check on the status of the project, confirm preferences before beginning different phases, and even helped with part of the work his crew was completing. This is a true family business that takes pride in their work and is respectful of the customers they serve. What a wonderful experience. We will definitely be using Ability Flooring again when we refinish the rest of our home’s flooring in the near future.

This is a longtime due review.and today, looking at my office's room floor and the continued separation of planks.decided to due the review.

Our experience was very good at first as they have a very good service and they are very knowledgeable. We started the flooring project with two connected rooms. Unfortunately, almost at the 1 year mark the floor planks started to separate in one of the rooms and now is spreading to the other room. Few days before the 1 year installation warranty expiration, we notified the company by email with pictures, showing them the separation, which was supposed to be corrected (didn't happened). We decided to go with other company to continue with the flooring project in other areas of our house and 2+ years later there are no problems, planks in those rooms are together! These other companies were not as expensive as Ability Wood and they also offer the same 1 year warranty for their installation.
Bottom line: Time is the best test for a work well done. A warranty is like a promise: you must fulfill them.

Needed a repair done promptly prior to listing home. Two rooms and a hallway. The ability team engaged quickly and did a perfect job on matching stain and getting job completed to tight schedule.

After researching flooring companies we decided to go with Ability Flooring for our whole home flooring project. The entire process was pleasant and the team at Ability was wonderful to work with. Alex's no pressure style was exactly what we were looking for and he took extra time with us in the showroom to help us narrow down our options. After visiting the showroom and taking home samples we chose an engineered hardware by Mirage. Shane came and took measurements at the house and helped us make final decisions on finishes. The demo and installation took just 7 days. We had some tricky areas of the house but the finish work by the installation team was amazing. Everyone was on time and treated the house with respect. It was a very dusty job but we could not be happier with the finished project and our new hardwood floors. I would highly recommend Ability Flooring without hesitation.

Ability Wood Flooring did a fantastic job on the floors in our addition. They were extremely easy to work with and put down a beautiful wood floor. The team is very professional and they are truly a master at their craft. I highly recommend them and plan on using them again to refinish the remainder of our floors.

I wanted to update my wood floors from yellowish light oak to a rich medium brown. Ability did this beautifully! Their workers were extremely skilled and showed up on time! They even repaired previous water damage near a door. I would highly recommend them!

Shane and his team were responsive and patient with us. Our condo association was somewhat difficult but Shane guided us through the process efficiently. The install was smooth and they followed up on the questions my wife had upon completion of the job. Their work was flawless. I would certainly recommend them if you are needing flooring.

This company came and rescued us after our first floor flooded in hurricane Ian. They bent over backwards to work with us on price and to do it without compromising the quality of the floors that we were replacing our old floors with. They kept their word at every point, when they were showing up how long it would take to do the work, etc. And the work itself was fantastic and of a very high quality. Overall, they are very easy to work with and they know what they are doing. I would work with them again, but hopefully never again due to a flood!

Ability refinished the flooring in new home and they look fantastic! Shane was realistic when explaining what to expect with 60+ year old wood floors. The estimate was very fair for the square footage. The individual crew was very professional and communicative with what to expect.

We used Ability over 20 years ago to refinish the floors in our 1957 home. They did an excellent job. We needed to refinish our original wood floors again this summer, and immediately reached out to Ability because of their past work and good reviews. Shane Scovill (grandson of the family owned business) came out within two days, gave us an estimate, and then worked us into the schedule within two weeks. The team that did the actual work on site was led by Mike who was very knowledgeable and able to complete the process in a timely manner.
