Worst experience EVER with a consulting firm. We are a very small city and hired Aclarian to be our Finance Director and to run our 3-person Finance Department. Our records were a mess due to previous staff having neither a background in government finance nor proper training. Aclarian said they would clean it up, train the staff, and run our day-to-day operations. Two years later and we were finally able to replace Aclarian with an in-house Finance Director and the records are still a disaster, staff is not trained, and our day-to-day operations are months behind! They appear to have done nothing at all for the last 6 months and whenever I complained that the bank statement reconciliations were six months behind or the state sales tax had not been paid in months, the President would only talk about revisiting our fee structure. Part of our clean up now is paying all the penalties for the work that wasn’t done on time. In the two years we worked with Aclarian, we had seven different on-site representatives and the last one was just a bookkeeper. We were constantly in a phase of retraining the new rep on our system. Unbelievably bad customer service and a terrible experience. I would give zero stars if I could.
