I called, she requested a picture. I sent a picture of my hair received no response.upon arriving the front was locked they opened the door and let me in then, I keep asking for what i wanted when quoted she said $75 for half head. Not too motivated to work. Prices extreme

I made an appointment at 9: 30am to have my hair braided, which is when they open. I showed up early at 9: 25am to be punctual and also respectful of the appointment. After waiting 9 minutes they text saying they were running a little late. At 10am I was still there waiting in the hot sun. I ended up waiting 50 minutes before I received a message saying “okay we are here. ” They didn’t even apologize.

I realized two things, this business wasn’t professional and the other was they didn’t deserve me as a customer. Obviously I left after waiting 50 minutes.

Sue and Adu are great! They take great pride in their work and always strive to satisfy all their customers. The best salon!

I have been going here since i was in middle school.has the best service and very efficient with their braiding.very warm and welcoming to customers and even longtime customers.i have been asked by multiple people over the years where i get my hair done and tell them to check it out and they love their outcome!

I got my hair braided by the young girl. She did an amazing job and she works fast. Yes they are a bit pricey but the quality of work is fabulous. Received many amazing compliments.

I really liked my hair. I got boxed braids but it was kind of pricey. I was visiting the Miami area and they were convenient. I tried setting an appointment and sent a photo of what I wanted as requested but I could not get a price or appointment confirmation until I just decided to pop up.

One of the few real braiders left! I had really course tangled natural hair and she worked magic on my hair and gave me beautiful braids without the extra "thick hair fee" some of these braiders would charge. Fast, neat, and reasonable prices!

This salon was recommended to me, and it was worth trying them out! I did box braids and they did an amazing job. Mom and daughter worked on my hair and they were both light handed. Will be going back in the future

I originally was not going to write a review but I felt compelled to do so. I will first start by saying that I have only received services from this salon once. My first visit was a mixed bag. On my first visit, I called ahead to schedule an appointment to style my hair. The owner of the salon took my call and asked that I send a picture of the style I wanted done. I did my best to search the internet for a photo that best represented what I wanted done. I sent the owner the photo and she said that she could schedule me in for a 1 o'clock appointment and said the price to complete the style was something like $120. (I'll take a moment in saying that I thought the price was a bit inflated considering I only needed 50% of the hair on my head styled, but I agreed to the price because the ratings on Google appeared decent, I needed my hair to be styled for an event that night, and my normal "go to hairdresser" was not available.)

When I was in route to my 1o'clock appointment, I texted and called the owner of the salon, to let her know that I was down the street (just incase I arrived a minute or two late). The salon owner never responded and when I arrived for my appointment, the owner was working on another
customers hair. I patiently waited for over an hour for her to complete another customers hair. It would have been really nice if the owner communicated that she would not be able to make the appointment time that she agreed to. The owner later apologized and claimed the woman walked in last minute, which for me does not negate the poor level of communication on the owners part; I could have come later.

After about an hour and a half of small talk and sitting in the styling chair, the owner said she was finished styling my hair. I looked in the mirror and was not impressed with the quality of her work. The final product was a poor imitation of the hair style I screen shotted from Google. Although not thrilled with the style, I paid the owner the full $120 she requested over the phone; I thanked her, and as I headed to the door she says to me "It was actually $125.00, but don't worry about it. " As if I didn't wait for over an hour because she was late for an appointment and lacked the professionalism to give me so much as an update so I'm not wasting precious minutes of my life sitting there being unproductive watching you do someone else's hair, to then later receive subpar quality for a premium.

Because the name is African Braids, and because on my first visit I requested double strand twists (which were poorly done), I decided to give African Braids a second try, this time I would go for braids instead of twists in hopes that Braids would be their specialty and they could redeem themselves in my eyes. Unfortunately, I was let down again!

On my second attempt to do business with African braids, I called the same number, a young lady answers the phone this time and it was the same routine; "please send a picture of what you want. " After doing so, I was told that the style of Braids i am requesting could not be done. I responded asking for something simpler that the stylist was capable of completing. Never received a call or text back yet to date and it has been a couple weeks at this point.

I won't be reaching out to African Braids for a 3rd attempt-at doing business. I do not recommend this business if you are looking for double stranded twists, or any "complicated" style of braids. I would not recommend this business if you are looking for a punctual/professional beautician.

Whew I have tried to get ahold of them several times to inquire about the pricing of a style I found on their own ig page and they never once responded. Now reading through the reviews I’m realizing their poor communication may have saved me a bigger headache in the end. Why go into business if your goal isn’t to please everyone or die trying?

My sister wants to go to a salon that can get the style she wanted for her hair. I introduced this salon to her. And she's very satisfied with the result! She thanked me so much. And I thank you also for not failing me. I will also recommend you to all my friends.

This lady is disrespectful and disgusting, that's being nice. This women braided my hair twice the first time she overcharged me with the price being just below 300 for box braids and the hair out was ok. The second time this lady not only over charged but proceeded to cut five of my braids off then demanded that I pay her 370 in cash before she would finish. This was all in from of my child! I had to drive to an ATM. Because I felt hostage. They way she acts is disgusting!

I called this place to request a quote for my hair instead of telling me she asked me to send a picture then she would call me back she never called me back so I am willing to bet that this is a terrible place to do business do not go here I do not recommend it
