Agave Restaurant, St Pete Beach FL

My blind mother attempted to go here tonight with her elderly mother and sisters and denied my mom because she had her guide dog. They said they could sit outside, but it is 93 degrees out and there was plenty of room inside. I am writing this for her out of her frustration and mine for how she was treated. This is against the law and wrong and this business needs to educate themselves on the Americans with Disabilities Act. The lady who’s mother is the owner and manager basically closed the door in my moms face and denied her entering like she can help her disability and the support her guide dog gives her. Shame on you people for making a person feel this way. Thankfully TuttoRosso down the street was kind enough to let her come in. Awful service and an awful way to treat someone.

Fun location. Service was very good. Nice to sit outside on a 'cooler' afternoon. We ordered Mole Poblano and Fajita Burito with cheese sauce. The flavors were good on both dishes. The meat was a bit tough on both too. The beans and rice could use a little more attention and love. We'd come back though.

Can’t say enough good things about Agave. Our waitress was Brianna. She knew the menu well, made great recs, and created tequila drinks for us. My husband says his margs were the best in FL.
I am allergic to garlic and they worked with me kindly. Also, many gluten free options.
This is our new favorite place. If you like authentic Mexican food, you’ll love Agave.
We ate bacon wrapped shrimp, ceviche (made with grouper!), steak nachos, and chili rellanos. All excellent!
They have hundreds of tequilas! We sampled a few and will return to experiment more.

Update for this establishment. I was eating here the other day, when they rudely turned away a legally blind woman, her guide dog and their family. Literally closed the door in her face and said" my mother is the owner"! This is illegal, and disgusting. We won't be back, EVER!

As a person whose family has resided on St Pete Beach since the 1940s, it pains me to leave this post. I am a blind woman with a certified Guide Dog from Southeastern Guide Dog school. Last evening, my 83-year-old mother, 2 sisters and I attempted to dine at agave restaurant. We were promptly denied access to the indoor dining room and told we could only sit outside. The entire restaurant was empty so a lack of indoor space was not the reason. Yesterday‘s temperature was 92°. We informed the young lady that they were breaking the law by refusing us entrance into the restaurant because of my guide dog but she insisted that they weren’t. I asked if I may speak to the manager and she said that her mother was the manager/owner. I asked for her mothers name and she informed me that she was not required to tell me this information. She then closed the door on us. Had she not been so rude and belligerent, we may have just walked away with the intent of educating the owner in ADA regulations at a later date. My family has always been big supporters of the many locally owned businesses on Saint Pete Beach. Unfortunately, this is one establishment that will not receive our patronage. A little kindness on the woman’s part would have gone a very long way on their behalf, but unfortunately, she chose to ignore kindness.

Everything was good but we always get the shredded beef tacos and they were so over cooked! Shame on you shef!

The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. The tortillas are made in house, good size portion.

The food was not great, the Tacos sucked, the rice sucked, the chips and salsa where good. The fajita was good. So with that being said it’s grab money for every single side, literally a lemon they charge for. After my family and I finished eating (2 Adults, 2 kids and a baby) I literally laughed they charged us 18% gratuities or whatever they call it in FL. Very upset with the answer I received from the “Manager”. I doubt she was. But she said they can’t change it in the computer, total BS. I told them your waitress just lost money because of this and she just looked dumbfounded. LONG STORY SHORT, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME, WAY BETTER RESTAURANTS IN THE AREA WITH BETTER FOOD AND LESS PETTY MENUS AND BUSINESS PRACTICES.

The Snapper Tacos were incredible. Always a great time & service is always the Best!

Top shelf margarita $10 the best.
Wide selection of Street tacos comes four to an order. $10 the best.

Delicious food! Great costumer service. Everyone was very friendly, highly recommend it if you want delicious, affordable, Authentic Mexican food. My husband had the chicken soup, and I have steak tacos. Delicious Delicious. I will go back when I’m in St. Pete.

Atmosphere is good, food is good. Unfortunately service is rude. Consistently rude. We have gone several times over the past three years and will not go back due to rudeness.

Was not great. Not terrible. Shrimp tacos had tiny pieces of shrimp in them. Fajitas had no flavor and no cheese. Servers were very very good and fast.

Little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that is a local gem. Awesome food and must try the margaritas.
