Alachua County Rest Area - Southbound reviews
19Very Clean restrooms and grounds. I didn't see the caution sign at first about snakes. When I seen the sign I was quick to get in my car
This was a good first stop on a long drive to Colorado. The bathrooms are clean there's plenty of area to walk my dog and good shade. It was a nice place to stop for a little bit of walking around and resting up for a long drive
This rest area was awesome! There were plenty of toilet stalls and the rest rooms were very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed reading about the "snake wall" and learning about the area. Only negative was that the toilet tissue was very, very, thin. Probably the thinnest toilet paper I've ever seen.
Very nice place to stop on a long trip if u need to go to the rest room or get a drink or just walk around for a few min.
Lots of parking.that sign is a little scary, but I didn't see any snakes. Clean restrooms & plenty of room to walk with dog.
Better watch out, ya better not shout, because the Snakes are coming to town or the bathroom with you lol!
I was in need of a wrapped in this is the place to do it I was very glad that they were there too take care of my lazy needs
Cleanest bathrooms of any rest stop as an avid traveler i wish all rest stops could be like this one!
This is one of my favorite rest stops, if only because of the "WATCH OUT FOR VENOMOUS SNAKES! " warning. Just kidding. This is a well maintained facility across from Paynes Prairie. There's lots of Florida facts and clueless travelers to dodge, but you'll be glad you stopped - the air conditioning in this location is top notch. If you need hydration, skip the two dollar bottles of water in the machines and fill your travel cup with some drinking fountain water.
Nice rest area. Clean bathrooms. Good place to take a load off and picnic, nap, or poop or all three. Great areas are great. A good solid way to not hassle with getting on and off the interstate for a break from driving.
This is one of the bigger rest areas in Florida. Probably because so close to a state park.
Quiet with security and plenty of restrooms, parking. Picnic tables have shelter over them
The walk on the serpent is nice to stretch out legs and I 'm sure plenty of snakes are in the area along with Florida's other various critters. I just have not spotted any thing other than birds.
It's okay, I don't like that the viewing area was closed even at sunrise. I kinda violated the rules when I went up there. But it was definitely an awesome place to check out Paines Prairie. Also had very clean restrooms and good vending selection.
Not sure how, but this place always seems to be clean. Huge rest stop. Watch for interesting Florida specific signs.
WHAT CAN I SAY? ANY PORT IN A STORM? WHEN YOU GOTTA GO YOU GOTTA GO! THE PLACE WAS VERY CLEAN! I CERTAINLY NEEDED THIS STOP! THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE!
Good rest area by Paines Prairie. Overlook walk area. Decent parking lots for cars and RVs. Clean facilities, restrooms and vending machines. Picnic tables.
This rest area is just south of Gainesville and it is typically one of the busiest. The is normally clean and secure.
The area was very clean. The hand dryers in the bathrooms don't dry your hands. They just blow a little air.
Large rest area. A lot of shade and picnic tables. Dog walk area. Clean facilities. Displayed maps and brochures for lodging. This is a good rest stop for s break. More modern and larger then other rest areas in the vicinity.
