Dr. Mendelsohn is the most patient and caring doctor that I have known. He is never rushed, explains everything in details and answers all my questions. My cataract surgery went exactly as he had explained and recovery much easier than I ever expected.

After learning that I needed cataract surgery, and after much thought and consideration, I chose Dr. Mendelsohn to perform the necessary surgery, and I am very happy that I did. He explained the whole process and was very attentive and compassionate to my fears and anxiety; I am extremely happy with the whole staff - very efficient and prompt care at every appointment. This doctor”s office has in my opinion a superficial and misleading so called stellar reputation - as my mom used to say don't judge a book by its cover - I was a new patient - the staff were friendly and Dr Mendelsohn was very professional - and was attentive to my medical concerns and condition - but after that it goes South - and to be specific - it is the administration especially when it comes to the insurances and financials - this doctor”s office charges for everything - even transferring records you have to pay up - they shove a payment plan in your face without consulting your insurance - it seems they would rather be paid out of your pocket and not deal with your insurance - their eyewear store does not take any insurance - I wanted to have an eye surgery with them - they told me I had to pay almost $8000 out of my pocket - I called my insurance and they said they covered it - but this doctor”s office did not want to hear it - they wanted me to pay out of pocket - I was told I could pay upfront and then have my insurance reimburse me - I replied this is not how it is done - the names of the administrators I dealt with were - Vanessa- Carol and Monica - my husband also went to this doctors office and they also charged him out of pocket even though he has medicare and a secondary insurance that pays all claims - another weird thing is they push also a pharmacy called Unity - they are a rip off - my pharmacy is so much more reasonable - their this office is thirsty for your money and seem do not want to haggle with your insurance - and on top of that if you want to discuss the payment options they have no patience and are rude- the head of the administration is Dr Mendelsohn”s wife- nepotism much - gave two stars for Dr Mendelsohn”s professionalism and 0 stars for the office”s administration- oh before I forget they do have one good thing going for them - they are generous with giving out free samples of medications - I got 2 bottles of eye drops free of charge- they also hawk Maui Jim sun glasses

I am replying to the response from the aforementioned doctor”s office - I don't think they understand that I am very disappointed as a patient to be involved with a shady doctor”s business office - also I did not scream on the phone - that is not my character - I was determined to get a proper answer - all the conversations were fluid - they were going nowhere - I learned from this experience to always from now on - check first the financials of a doctor”s office - otherwise you may get duped

Dr Alan Mendelsohn and his staff are fantastic He recently performed laser cataract surgery on both my eyes and it was the best decision I ever made. It was quick and easy and he and his staff are the best and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent results it will change your life.
The surgery was great but his after visits are just as good. They are the Best.

I had been to another eye doctor who told me I had growths under my eyelid and prescribed medication. Six weeks later I went to Dr Mendlesohn who told me that it was actually a staph infection.
He was very thorough, doesn't rush you and I was so happy I got my husband to try him and he was also happy with the change.

I was and am very impressed with Dr Mendelsohn. I get a reoccurring infection in my eye that he works to keep at bay.
I am on Medicare it does not pay for lazar cataract removal, not DrMs problem but ours.
