Alecia’s African Hair Braiding, Tampa FL

I took a joy ride through Tampa on two Uber's because I booked online and received a confirmation email on my appointment, but I guess no one checks that and you have to call first before you book online, which she very rudely stated when I arrived. Please disable the booking feature on your website if you do not monitor it. Thanks.

Unorganized! Scheduled an appointment and confirmed via text message and phone. The day of the appointment she said she did not have me scheduled. I showed her the text messages and she just said oh. Have a back up plan if you book with this salon.

I had Crochet passion twist done but they are very expensive. The lady who did my hair was nice. I bought more than enough twist and advised to put 7-8 pks. She ended up using all 10pks which was not what I wanted and my head was so heavy my neck was hurting. Anyway she was nice enough to remove some of the twist.

I love my beautiful hairstyle whenever I'm in the Tampa area and need my hair braided I will always go to Alexia's!

Alecia was very nice and understanding of my hearing disability upon learning about it. There was a mix up with my appt (she only requires phone appts) but she took me and did a great job on my hair. I loved the most how patient she was with me after learning about my hearing disability. She displayed great customer service! I will definitely be back.

When I first entered the facility, the stairs leading to it were filthy. Then when I arrived my stylist was 25 to 20 minutes late. The owners child was there, which was fine during covid, however the child cried for over an hour in my 4 our stay. My hair stylist would not listen when I told her my real hair was showing! She said it's okay, she
would correct the issue. However when she was done, I noticed it wasn't corrected. My entire head had my real hair showing. Mind you I only have half a head of real hair. The normal price is $180 and I was told since you only have half a head we will only charge half. Half was 20 dollars off for a total payment of $160 and my hair looks horrible. I recommend a different place if want your hair done right and want more professionalism!

Alecia was very unprofessional. I will not patronize this business a second time. I told her I did not want a Mohawk and showed her a picture of what I wanted. When she was finished I told her I didn’t like it and she got a major attitude. She told me that she did my hair just like the picture. That was laughable. She even tried to recruit her coworker to agree with her. I stopped her right there. I told her this is business. If I don’t like my hair she should not get mad. I told her just leave it down and I went home and pinned it up myself. Also, she spoke ill of her other customers right in front me. I miss my Senegalese sisters who used to braid my hair back home in Tennessee. They were so sweet. Above all else it was Alecias nasty attitude that did it for me. My hair was workable. It was fixable, but only God can fix that woman’s nasty attitude.

WARNING NOT PROFESSIONAL

I use this company to apply my Senegal twists waist length her price 220$. When arriving the hair stylist was not there I had to sit and wait. When the hair stylist it arrived they had at least 12 children in the building all their children none of which had masks on. The hair stylist was extremely distracted by her multiple children interrupting her constantly while she was doing my hair in the middle of doing my hair she decided she wanted to have lunch they ordered Fried Chicken she ate her Fried Chicken in the middle of doing my hair I sat there had to wear a mask while I'm 6 months pregnant while her multiple children ran around with no masks on it was hard for me to breathe. After eating her food she did not wash her hands she came right back to doing my hair. She was completely distracted she was on the phone majority of the time not paying attention her attention was on her children and the cell phone. The next day I called them because my hair started to come unraveled. When I set an appointment to come back in I live three hours away from the hair salon I was not able to make it that day or the next day or the following day due to car issues. When I finally was able to make it at 12 ask her to make room for me she said she would not be making room for me and that I should have been there at 10. I spent $220 on my hair the very next day it started to come unraveled we are on day 5 and majority of my hair Has Lifted from the base and has come unraveled I am 6 months pregnant I am very unhappy I have never been so unhappy with a hair stylist in my life the most unprofessional business but I have been into I have been to five different businesses they have messed up my hair but not as bad as this place I had a better experience professionally with the other businesses that I did with this place. A business should not be a daycare you should not be worried about your children your cell phone in your food before the business these people are paying you hundreds of dollars for their hair I expected my hair to stay intact for $220 for the three months it's supposed to stay intact. I will post pictures later of the unraveling of my very expensive hair.

This woman is completely inaccurate about the hairstyle I have IM Egyptian Romanian and Russian, the children were all over the age none of them had masks song all of you were eating y'all stop doing my hair to have lunch that is the most unprofessional shop I have ever seen. Not to mention argument with the manager of the building while I was present. Would you then required me to text you or building manager back for you. My hair I told you needed to have rubber bands with your database you told me not to wash my hair the entire time my hair was in my head. I sat in your parking lot you look right at me and text me and responded that you did not have any time to correct my hair I will submit the photograph of my text messages and of the picture of me sitting in your parking lot and you denied me to fix my hair. The only reason I am putting this up here it's for other women that would like their hair to last for the amount of money that they are spending at your shop you did a great job yet but you are unprofessional the hair did not last for $220 my hair should have lasted the entire three months it lasted a day. If you are looking to have your hair done I would not recommend to go to this place unless you want to keep going back to her for her to fix. The client you had presents that you put me on Skype or should have waited so you could fix what you already messed up instead you sent me while I sat in your parking lot. I get you're trying to save your business but the only style here you can work on is black girls YOU NEED TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS OF THIS. I WOULD HAVE NEVER WASTED MY MONEY AND THE FACT YOUR TRYING TO ARGUE WITH ME A PAYING CUSTOMER SHOWS YOUR UNPROFESSIONAL. YOU DID NOT FIX ANYTHING AND REFUSED I WILL POST PHOTOS FOR PROOF OF ALL IM SAYING.

Alecia is Amazing! I took my daughter to get 2 cornrows today and this was the first time she ever had her hair cornrowed. My daughter’s hair is super thick, kinky and long, but Alecia did her hair in literally 15 mins! I searched all over the internet and picked this spot, even though I live 30 mins away. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is the best! Definitely will be back! Thank you so much Ms. Alecia!

Went to have my hair crochet braided today, very pleased with the service rendered. I have very light hair and i was so amazed that when my hair was done my head feels so comfortable, braid not tight or anything. Thank you Alecia and staff. Very clean establishment, courteous and pleasant staff.

I must say my first experience with Alecia’s business we’re she opened the shop on time. I was told to wear my mask. The lady Asia who braided my hair did an awesome job. She took her time very neat. I asked Alecia the time frame I would be in the shop, well that was the time it took her to braid my hair. My only feed back is it should be more communication talking with the client while sitting in your chair and not on your cell phone. Also, due to the pandemic and the virus going on my opinion the shop should be cleaner and differently between each clients.

I dont know what these Debbie downers are talking about but Alicia is professional, fast braider polite and on time. I always have a good service!
