Alesia Restaurant reviews
17I ordered the Pho it came out only slightly warm. They didn’t even have the traditional toppings that you would normally get. It was more like a beef flavored soap. Far from a Vietnamese soup. In short it was very disappointing. I also ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee and that wasn’t tasty. My friend ordered a chicken salad on a croissant and said it was the worst he ever had. I was very disappointed with the complete experience. Not sure how they got such a high rating.
Great place love it! I recommend what I’ve tried curry and pho! I’m coming back for dessert!
Not an authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I ordered a bowl of Vietnamese style ramen and I could tell the broth was weak and bland. The noodle wasn’t the right kind either. The worst bowl of ramen I ordered in St. Pete. The courtyard is very nice, however. Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat the courtyard Please improve the broth flavor. We may come back, but I probably would try a non-Vietnamese dish this time, to be fair to the chef.
Service is lukewarm, not welcoming seeming and server didn't introduce himself nor have any personality. Service was meh. Parking is ridiculous, we had to do street side parking a couple blocks down but not terrible. The lighted outdoor seating looks like it would have been nice but there was no availability at 6: 30 this Saturday night so we sat inside. Very beautiful architecture especially with the windows. I thought it felt humid and a bit stifling indoors, but strangely it wasn't hot. Food was OK, a couple of really good dishes but otherwise don't believe it's worth the drive 1h+ for us to return.
Potstickers 4/5 - good but too salty
Pate chaud 3/5 - personally not a big fan of liver anything so didn't care for that aspect but the pastry itself was flaky deliciousness, but hubs gives 4/5 - he likes liver (this was also his fav dish out of everything)
Lobster bisque 5/5 - my absolute favorite here, creamy and flavorful; was supposed to come with bread (french baguette) but ran out and replaced with cheese gougeres (see below review, wish they offered youtiao instead)
Curry chicken with jasmine rice 3/5 - rice would be better if it didn't arrive cold. Chicken in curry is dry and had too much onion
Wonton soup 3/5 - good but the fried shallots was way overpowering in the soup. Chicken was overcooked dry-dry and only had TWO wontons in the wonton soup
Youtiao 3/5 I like it somewhat crispy, this was not and has oily taste
Cheese gougeres 1/5 - supposed to be "cheese filled" WHERE? It's just empty space of nothing and the puff pastry tasted stale, not fresh at all
Beignets 4/5 - not bad, has a hint of wine or similar taste to it
Banana spring roll 5/5 - surprised how much I liked this. Reminds me of childhood Vietnamese dessert that I'm not a huge fan of but subtle sweetness and modernized or frenchified? Very good, banana not overwhelming and the crisp and flavors all go so well together
We'll return if we happen to be in the area perhaps but we wouldn't make the trek solely for the restaurant.
I've been here several times since moving to Florida in 2020 and been very happy with Alesia. It's not quite up to the standards of Little Saigon or the Eden Center in Northern Virginia but I imagine that's because the area lacks the same critical mass of Vietnamese expats. Nevertheless I am very happy it's here and have never had less than an outstanding experience. I could wish it were a bit closer and that they'd be open Monday but that's about it. Highly recommended.
A unique restaurant that probably won't satisfy everyone. A French/vietnamese restaurant is not the place to take a picky eater so fair warning. This is not the food's fault.
I have been a couple times for lunch and the atmosphere and space are very modern and clean.
I've had the lobster bisque and a soup of the day (I can't remember but it was very good) so this is a great choice for an appetizer. I've also had the summer rolls which were good but the soups are the winners here.
My favorite lunch was the Baby Bok Choy. Absolutely delicious and the perfect light entree. I didn't leave full but I was satisfied.
I also had the Coconut Curry Bowl but found too many potatoes for my liking but the flavor was spot on.
My friend got the Bún Vegetable but thought it would have been tastier warm. Cold vermicelli can be a bit off putting. She thought it was good but would order something different next time.
Overall, well worth trying but if your palate is non adventurous, this might not be the place for you.
This restraunt is the best. Thier food is amazing. I always get their sandwich with mushrooms eggs and grilled chicken. The people who work there are some of the nicest people if you get to know them. I'm a regular there and they even allow dogs! I take my pet copper there all the time. They even give a small metal dish with water for him to drink out of! This place is underrated and has some of the nicest food for its price.
Such a unique place with amazing food and wine. The service is always friendly and the relaxed atmosphere makes me feel comfortable dressing up to visit or dropping in after a workout.
Amazing little spot with French and Vietnamese dishes. Loved the pot stickers and the Pho. Tasted just like the amazing Pho we are used to in CA. Parking is a little tough if its busy but you can park just up the street no problem. We will for sure be back for another round sometime soon
Stopped in for light lunch. Great "homemade' tomato basil soup. Had roast beef croissant also outstanding
Great place for brunch or lunch. Pleasant indoor and outdoor seating and some terrific wine options both BTG and bottle.
Forgot to take pictures but we sat on the patio (thank goodness for fans). Pot stickers and spring rolls were very tasty. Hubby enjoyed the beef pho and the roast beef croissant sandwich with house made chips was a hit for me.
A unique blend of French and Vietnamese food. We had Pho, Potstickers, Binh Ma and egg rolls. Everything was excellent! Quaint little restaurant to relax at with a glass of wine. Service was very good.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and great service! The chicken soup is absolutely delicious, the shrimp chips and salsa are something I crave constantly, and the Vietnamese coffee is the best I’ve ever had
I always love the food here I've been going for years now and it never disappoints my personal fav is the croque madam with an appetizer of the shrimp chips!
Food was great, especially loved the blue cheese, bread, grapes & real honeycomb tray! It was all gone in a second. My son had the lobster bisque and said it was very good. Son & daughter both had the Pho and said it was really good. I had the Roque Mademoiselle and I loved it. It was super busy and we did have a twenty minute wait. I wish i had taken photos of there outside seating because it was really beautiful at night. They also have a wide variety if wines! I definitely recommend to try this place out!
Our food was fresh and delicious. Outside is a garden like setting inside is very clean and calming atmosphere. The service was great and the server was very attentive.
