7The doctor was very caring & friendly which I very much appreciated. She took time to explain in detail what I needed to know.
I experienced several side effects from a medication Dr. Alvarez prescribed. I called her office and also left a message via my chart and no one returned my call to address my concerns. I had to stop the medication and seek help from another gastroenterologist. It’s very worrisome to have a doctor ignore your calls when you reach out for help due to side effects from a medication.
Arrived 2 min past the 15 min window due to getting lost finding the building. Couldn’t call cause I had lost the number to the place and forgotten the name of the doctor. All I had was the address, it was my first time visiting. Walked over in an ankle brace as well making me slower to arrive. This stressed me out. Then I waited 10 min to be told I wouldn’t even be able to see the doctor due to her strict late policy. Had made time for this visit, waited 2 weeks for it, and drove out of my way for this. I know it’s policy, but the lack of flexibility and understanding is outrageous. The staff however, seemed welcoming.
The attention of all the staff was excellent and the professional and ethical capacity of the staff and Dr. Alicia Álvarez was unsurpassed. Today I returned to see the doctor and with all my heart, I can give her my health and my life without hesitation because I know that I will be with her taking care of me very close to God. Listening very well, and not searching previous Dr's negative follow ups, Alicia Alvarez, MD is a terrific DR, she reminds me of a character on TV they call him DR House
