I came in today to be treated for severe allergies affecting my eyes and stuffy nose due to my guess oak trees. While examining me. Dr Lockey said I was a little pudgy. I thought that's an awful thing to say to someone. I won't be back.

I want to start of by saying doctor cho is great! However the receptionist I encountered in room 506 for my testing was not. She was rude, and made me uncomfortable when I was already nervous about testing. I will not come back here after the anxiety filled, embarrassing experience I had at this place.

Edit: I have updated my review because she called me this morning and apologized profusely as well as tried to make things right. She offered for me to come back but I declined. Although I am glad she reached out my initial experience is one someone else should not have.

I saw Dr. Amber Pepper on 8-3-20. She was friendly, thoroughly going through my medical history with me and an intuitive listener reading between the lines. It's a great experience knowing you have a thorough physician taking care of you. I would recommend her highly.

Prepare to do ALL of your own legwork and prepare to wait WEEKS for any test to be authorized (if it happens at all) if you make an appointment at this practice. I saw Dr. Ledford the first time a month ago and found him knowledgeable and caring. Then, the nightmare of dealing with his staff began.

After the appointment, the doctor wrote me a radiology script for a CT scan and I could not believe that this was their procedure. Every other doctor in the SIX other states I have lived in DOES THEIR JOB and faxes the script to the radiology center and the radiology center does the authorization. On the back of the script, were lists of radiology centers to schedule. First problem - many of the centers listed are inside hospitals. Well, anybody who knows anything knows that the markup of imaging done inside hospitals is a 300 percent markup. It is fact! And insurance will not pay to have scans done inside these facilities. And people wonder why healthcare costs are high!

Second, I told the nurse I lived in Palm Harbor and she RUDELY told me to call my insurance. Now, I do not mind doing some of the work, but these people do absolutely NOTHING.

A day later, I try to schedule the appointment after looking MYSELF for approved facilities. I called several of them and because the prescription was written wrong and without a procedure code, the centers could not even schedule it. I then called and spoke with someone at the front desk and asked if someone could call and help me schedule the exam, to which she rudely flat-out stated she did not have time and referred me to my insurance. I then told Donna, the office manager the same thing and got the same response. She refused to listen to me that the script was written wrong. Finally, I got through to her and she stated that the doctor would call me.

Yes, I did get a call back from a nurse named Susan who agreed the doctor (which I stated from the get- go to 2 rude, nasty women who fobbed me off in my insurance and said they had no time for me) Would have to call the imaging center and ask them what test would accomplish what he wanted to achieve.

I get a text from the imaging center and schedule the appointment for 9 days from the date of the call. The imaging center does not bother to tell me that they do not do authorizations for my doctor, and proceed to call the authorization rep at the practice. Eight days had elapsed and I hear nothing, so I call the imaging center and they tell me they never got the authorization back. So, now I have to cancel the appointment. I call Cigna and find out nothing has been done in NINE days.

I called the authorization department and speak to THEIR ONLY rep Betty who states nothing has been done because she is the ONLY rep for SIX doctors. Can you imagine finding THAT out. Not to mention the office manager Donna is the one who told me she didn’t have time to help me in the first place. And GEE, maybe if you had helped me locate an imaging center that did their own authorizations, neither one of us would be in this predicament to begin with. But oh, no, they are to busy working with a skeleton crew for the number of patients they have and collecting all of your money while YOU do all the legwork that is THEIR Job to do.

I cannot wait for my Fasenra shot and then I am on to a practice that is actually competent. And of course, I left a message yesterday for a return call from Donna that she hasn’t bothered to return.

Another hallmark of an incompetent practice, is the fact that patients can only leave messages on a general nurse line, unlike well- run practices that have dedicated voice mail for doctors’ medical assistants and/or nurses. Who in 2019 sets up their practice like this?

Waiting weeks to get authorization for medical testing done is malpractice. I look forward to what the Fl insurance commissioner, Fl State Board of Medicine Consumer Division and my insurance company has to say about this.

I would put 0 stars but that is not an option waited in the office for dr lokey for 2 hours and finally got in my appointment was at 1 and i got in at 3 ridiculous!

WHAT A GREAT PRACTICE! As a young healthcare professional in the Tampa area, it is nearly impossible to find an independently owned practice that holds patient care above the profit margin. Well, I found that with Dr. Ledford at Allergy Tampa. I have never met a physician that asked such detailed questions, he had a genuine interest in treating my alignment from a completely holistic approach. Not the traditional, "that does not fall under my specialty, let me refer you to _" (after spending hundreds of dollars there.) With the territory comes one downside, some internal processes are outdated (not to mention the décor lol), though, I don't feel it impacts the patients at all. YOU WILL NOT REGRET SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS PRACTICE!

DOCTORS ARE SO CARING AND PROFFESIONAL. INCLUDING STAFF. THEY ALSO SEE MY AUTISTIC SON AND TREAT HIM WITH SO MUCH RESPECT WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE. BEST ALLERGY DOCS AROUND FOR US SO FAR. THANK YOU.

I have been seeing Dr. Lockey for many years. My asthma is almost non-existent and my allergy symptoms are much improved. The nurses and office staff are professional and helpful.

I've been a patient at this facility for roughly 4 months. So far I have been very impressed with the professionalism of the staffs. Each time I've visited the office for my allergy shot, the staffs have been very courteous and knowledgeable when explaining the series of shots.

Dr Ledford is absolutely the best Dr I have been fortunate to have. He has helped me with very serious breathing problems enabling me to deploy.
I can never thank him enough.

We've been seeing Dr. Richard Lockey for over 3-years now. He is currently taking care of my entire family here in Tampa. I would recommend him for pediatrics allergy and asthma care as well. His knowledge is on point and he is very thorough. He is very receptive to questions and loves to educate.

The nurses in the injection lab are always so sweet to my 6 year old son. They have made him so comfortable here, he doesn't bat an eye when. It's time for his injections. Happy Mom!

My life is better because I get allergy shots here. The doctors and nurses are fantastic. I've lived in Florida most of my life. Fire ants and various wasps and related stings have made it a challenge to garden. I've been attacked by fire ants whole standing on asphalt pumping gas! My reactions have lessened during my immunotherapy sessions. I am still getting shots and continue to improve. If you have allergies, get tested and find out if you too can improve your life.
